FLYing - A new group of baby steppers begins – day 1

I am a SAHM of a 16 month old, and I am fed up of running around like a headless chicken, working hard on the house all day and having nothing to show for it. I need to get organised and reading the most recent group of FLYbabies has inspired me.

Hi SAHMof1, I'll gladly join. Whilst it is not complete chaos here, it is enough to drive me nuts at times.

Off to settle the baby and once she is asleep will deal with kitchen sink.

Good luck.... I am on day 31 of baby steps...it has been fab. I can't believe what a difference it has made to me. I don't do everything as I am a WOHM (when I don't have flu) but every little bit that you do do makes a massive difference.....good luck

I've just been through babysteps again and it really helps. I'll come back and encourage you every now and again. It takes at least a month to get really going so dont worry if it seems slow.

Yes reiterating that it seems slow to start. I think hte first week you spend shining your sink every day. DOn't try to do more as you will burn yourself out

Don't skip days though. The 'boring' days are there so that you spend time 'establishing' what you are already doing into your natural timetable without adding something new every single day.

Had intended to start with Jas & Co who are going great guns over on the other thread but owing to a couple of weeks of unexpected illness got left behind ...

I have a bit of a problem with the first step though as my kitchen sink will never shine. Will getting it as clean is it's ever going to be do?

O O O O , can I join? I started the first group back in the day (I am Quootiepie) over a year ago, but fell off the wagon. It was the only thing that worked, and some bits still stick with me. I will probably do the sink tonight though, I am a SAHM to a 18 month old so it's pretty hectic here, and he hates me going into the kitchen for some reason!

Hope so - my house is such a shed! I just can't organise myself. The sink shining seems a bit strange but like i said it's all about habit building.

unglued - it really does work, as long as you stick to it and dont think "oh, I can do piles more", rush and do it all at once, burn out then quit. It really is habit building.

It really does work.

The lady speaketh sense - just follow the steps. Don't do any more than that. It seems tediously slow but it works.

Sink shining is what holds it together with me - when I stop shining, the rest all crumbles.
