FLYbabies Day 4....write things down

Day 4
http://www.flylady.com/pages/reminder4.asp Today's reminders

This is taking things a bit too slowly imo. I don't need to write a reminder to tell myself to get dressed, and hopefully we are all shining our sinks before bed now.

blossomsmine - it is not compulsory to do every little bit exactly as FLYlady says. Even she says adapt the routine to fit your own life, not the other way round.

SMS - well done on the bra wearing! It is making me smile every time you mention it

Reminders

Everyone having a wobble. Don't panic. If something needs doing that FLYLADY hasnt told you to do then do it in 15 minutes under the banner ofa 15 minute hotspot. Then the house gets tidier and ultimately you dont get worn out.

Why dont you all do kelly's mission in addition to the babysteps. I just got DH to do yesterdays mission for me

My sink is still shiny and dishwasher loaded. I'm not dressed yet so about to do that.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 30/08/2007 08:01

kelly's mission

sigh...

ludaloo · 30/08/2007 08:10

Morning

I agree with you jas I don't need to write anything down either...I'm just about remembering to get dressed and shine my sink...and read the reminders. Besides which, you are doing a fantastic job reminding me too

Would it be very bad if we skipped a day or two?? (Tomorrows is just as bad TBH...writing down all the voices in our heads or something??) Day 6 is actually beginning to tackle stuff...its Hotspots.
Just a thought, I don't know how anyone else feels about it??

Anyhoo...I'm up and half dressed...no socks or shoes yet though.
I've picked up all the dirty clothes from upstais...and flung them down the stairs! I have put a load of clothes in the W/M, made kids brekkie, and then logged on here! Thats it so far

Back in a bit

ludaloo · 30/08/2007 08:13

Ah xposts FGS .... that's a good idea, to do the mission too....I think it's just that it feels it is taking too long to actually get stuck in to anything isn't it. If anyone else is like me, then they know what I mean when I say I WANT IT NOW!!!

I know, I know....Babysteps, Babysteps...

Jas · 30/08/2007 08:17

I thought the same thing ludaloo

Day four was up til 7.30, Day 5 was until 8am, and we can all start on Day 6 now

If this is ok with everyone, I'm more than happy to skip some of the baysteps. Please read the link on theday 6 step if you aren't sure what is a hotspot

Mission is good, too.

Whatever we do,you do need to use a timer, and stickto our chose job until the time runs out.I use a kitchen timer or the sleep function on my radio.

Ah ha....that's good as I have a hotspot in the kitchen I have been looking at for weeks! (my bills are all in one place already so don't need to hot spot bills)

FunkyGlassSlipper · 30/08/2007 08:58

Good idea to skip day 4 and 5.

To recap. Today you have to shine your sink, get dressed to shoes, read your email reminders and do a 2 minute hotspot.

I find I can do a 2 minute hotspot while waiting for the kettle to boil

sheepgomeep · 30/08/2007 09:08

I don't know about any of you but I'm finding very hard to get myself going in this last week of term.
I got 3 kids and one is a 3 month old. The older two are driving me nuts as they are bored argumentative and untidy. I clean everything then bingo 5 minutes later the house is trashed again. the baby is going through a very awkward whingy stage and the older two mither me all the time for food as if i starve them!!.

i wake up with good intentions then as soon as the fights start between the eldest two i lose my will to live.

tibni · 30/08/2007 09:31

Great idea to skip a couple of days. I have been restrained and only just turned pc on. I tend to write a general list of things I want to get done but I will give notes over the house a miss. Washer on, everyone fed, bedrooms had a quick tidy and swished and swiped.

So many hotspots round my house im spoilt for choice! LOL

SGM - my kids are undoing my work too! Youngest severe SN so limited success in trying to get him to pick up after himself. Working on the theory that every little bit helps. I will never have an immaculate home and will never be fully on top of everything. Windows get smeared every single day, carpets have to be washed a couple of times a week etc but I do feel better knowing I am making a difference, if only a small one. Don't lose heart.

tjacksonpfc · 30/08/2007 09:35

morning all glad we are missing a few days im going to do the kitchen and front room today as we have guests staying tommorow night then we are down theres saturday so not around weekend so ill do it today hopefully. i managed to get upstairs done yetserday. cant remeber the last time my house was starting to look this good lol.

squatchette · 30/08/2007 09:39

I know what you mean Sheep i seem to be spending every waking moment keeping the dds off the new kitten i'm turning into a screaming fishwife !
Can't wait till school and pre school start on tuesday .How old are your elder 2 ?
There's something on the flylady site about getting the kids involved easier said than done though.Start with a small list lists are good.

harleyd · 30/08/2007 09:39

morning guys
how do you lot get u and organised so flippin early?
so am dressed to socks, swished, shiny sink, 2ltrs water in the fridge and have quickly brushed kitchen & living room floor.
will have to sort out school uniforms today and iron and nametag them so dont want to do too much else

sheepgomeep · 30/08/2007 09:41

I know tibni, I always feel like this the last week of term.

I know every little bit helps, I'm having behavioural probs with ds who's 7 too and that makes me down. I think if I can do the kitchen today I will feel I have made progress

ludaloo · 30/08/2007 09:41

sheepgomeep...mine are always wanting feeding too...its annoying!

sheepgomeep · 30/08/2007 09:43

squatchette ds is 7 and dd1 is 5.

shouldbe · 30/08/2007 10:13

OK, I'm going to do some of these babysteps again to help me get going

I will be dressed and my sink will be shiny within the next hour

I will also do the mission today

Jas · 30/08/2007 10:18

Hello shouldbe sheepgomeep I have my two oldest at a kids club in the mornings this week(They are 6 and 8and bicker constantly.

Gettig up early...the secret is to have either a small baby, a non-sleeping toddler, or a partner who goes to work early and is incapable of leaving the house without waking everyone in it (I have the last two)

I have rashly invited a load of mums and their kids from kids club round this pm so I will have to get moving. Guests comingalways gets me motivated .
