Shine Your Sink

OP posts:
Jas · 27/08/2007 08:13

If you ant to sign up for the full experience, you ill get this manyemails throughout the day, every day]] , plus testamonials telling you ho FLYlady has changed peoples lives.

I ill link to each babystep every day, and try to give additional reminders , but I on't be around much today.

I am going to shine my sink, but ill admit that I don't do all the things she tells you to. The choice is yours.
Come and give it a try....if you are bogged under by houseork, a little bit of FLYing DOES help

ludaloo · 27/08/2007 08:31

Hello

I can vouch that FLYing really does help! I'll be checking in if thats ok to get some extra motivation and go over bits I've probably long forgotten, or gotton out of the habit of doing!

ludaloo · 27/08/2007 08:32

ooooh am I on the wrong thread

seeker · 27/08/2007 08:47

This worked wonderfully for me last year until I let it slip at Christmas and lost the plot completely. I then tried to get back to where I had been without doing it "properly" and it didn't work. It's really important to follow all the steps even when they sound bonkers!
Off to shine my sink!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 27/08/2007 08:58

Helloooo.

I have directed everyone onto this thread so hopefully they will come.

I, for one, need to get back into babystepping so will do everything in my power to have a shiny sink today

ludaloo · 27/08/2007 08:59

Ah...I'm on the right thread then

I haven't shined my sink for weeks and weeks, so I am going to do this today

entropy · 27/08/2007 09:29

I can see how this is the only way a complete slob like me will break the cycle of having to get my mum to babysit so that I can clean up every single time I want to invite my alpha mum friend and her two LOs round to play. BUT, its a bank holiday and dd is away for the morning... do I HAVE to start today?

entropy · 27/08/2007 09:29

can I always be a day behind you guys??

ludaloo · 27/08/2007 09:30

no time like the present entropy!

ludaloo · 27/08/2007 11:05

Sink nice and shiny!

Cappuccino · 27/08/2007 11:09

it's going to take you 10 mins at most

Jas · 27/08/2007 11:25

My sink is empty

Jas and other estalbished FLYers... do you do 15 mins decluttering a day PLUS a mission PLUS whatever is the daily task eg home blessing hour PLUS all the daily stuff (shining sink, doing a wash and putting it all away, dishwasher, swich and swipe, make bed) PLUS look after and feed kids/leave the house?

I find I cannot fit this in, even being at home all day at the mo.... Can you?

And what are people who are working do to fit it all in?!?????

Eager but feeling a bit ... not up to the job.

And what about MNing? Surely there's no time for that!

Jas · 27/08/2007 13:19

BigBear....no

The idea is that you establish routines to keep on top of the general stuff. The stuff I have kept up is a daily wash, swish and swipe, and keeping the sink empty, hich means I have to ash up and put it aay. I also menu plan, so meals are much easier, and as you can see, I have plenty of time to mn

Start ith the shiny sink, and take on hat orks for you. There aren't many on the regular thread ho do it all, but just having some sort of routine, and a bit of encouragement helps. I ill find you something suitably encourging from FL.

I do extra on the days I can, and those ho ork do more in the evenings, or a pared don daily routine, and a bigger burt of stuff on a day off.

Jas - 2 questions.

  1. is your 'w' broke?
  2. How do you fit this in with a working life?
Jas · 27/08/2007 13:31

SMS 1.- yes. I ill buy a ne keyboard hen the children go back to school
2. - I think it depends on your family/orking hours. There are regulars on the FLY thread ho ork full time. You have to be more organised ith your routines, but the longer you stick ith it, the easier it gets. Eventually you get to the point here you don't need 2 days notice of visitors because you are on top of most of it.

OP posts:
SlightlyMadShockwave · 27/08/2007 13:35

Thats the thing. I am out 8-5ish 3 days a week and then tea, bath, bedtime routine kicks off.
2 days a week it is just 8-1ish but then I have to do downstairs things/no hoovering whilst DD3 sleeps for a couple of hours.

Still I need something to get me organised, so I might give it ago, and see how iit goes.

Pennies · 27/08/2007 13:40

I might just join in. Are you running a boot camp then like Cod's potty training threads?

Jas · 27/08/2007 13:42

Give it a try. You ill surprise yourself.

You could probably do some stuff before ork. I leave my 3 eating breakfast and do a quick clean in the bathroom and kitchen, before e go out. I have also got ds trained to sleep through the hoover so I can do stuff hile he sleeps. Not possible for everyone, but it orks here.

OP posts:
iris66 · 27/08/2007 13:42

can I join I never got past the shiny sink thing when I tried it about a year ago and things have just deteriorated since i got pg (30 wks ago ) Just trying to get DS to sleep then I will polish my sink with gay abandon.

harleyd · 27/08/2007 13:45

i want a shiny sink!
and a tidy houe please - help me

harleyd · 27/08/2007 13:45

tidy house!

Jas · 27/08/2007 13:45

Hi pennies.

Follo the link at the beginning of the thread for FLYlady info, and your first step (shine your sink)
I ill tell everyone hat to do every day. It's up to you ho much you do, but for it to really ork, you need to do as you are told to start ith, then adjust the routine to fit your family/job commitments.

OP posts:
Jas · 27/08/2007 13:48

Oooh lots of ne people
Don't correct your typos harley, it makes me look bad

I have cheated and used cilit bang on my sink It is lovely and shiny though.....
