Yay Jas you did it! I've been in Whitstable all day, off to cook for my DH and shine my sink.

Good work all you guys!

gibberish · 27/08/2007 19:44

Ooooh lots of new FLYers - how exciting

Well done Jas. Flylady should be paying you lol...

Off to see if we still have our usual thread.. if, I'll be back in true Arnie style.

gibberish · 27/08/2007 19:45

If NOT was what I meant to say

phdlife · 27/08/2007 19:52

me me me!

Tommy · 27/08/2007 19:57

I really need to join this thread but my sink is horrible and old and plastic and wouldn't shine if I spent all day on it...

gibberish · 27/08/2007 20:05

As long as it is clear and clutter free Tommy that is a good start

Jas · 27/08/2007 20:09

Empty and clean is fine, Tommy

If you have a shiny (or empty and clean)sink, this is for you]
If not, it isn't too late to start. Just spend 5 minutes cleaning it before bed. I promise it ill make you smile tomorrow hen you see it in the morning.

well I was going to give the shiny sink a miss but then I got bored, watched that video. showed it to DH who now thinks I'm completely mad for finding sink cleaning this funny! (it made me cry when the brown sink came up!!!) but now I'm inspired to shine my sink and get my shiny star. off to do it now.....

FunkyGlassSlipper · 27/08/2007 20:41

Jas.

Sink is empty & shiny. Dishwasher is on too...

Night.

Well done all new people.

SlightlyMadShockwave · 27/08/2007 21:11

I have a shiny sink .

Well actually I have shiny taps and a shiny drainer but my sink is a little beyond shiney I am afraid.

To compensate thought I have shiney worktops and a shiney dishwasher too, and a clean grease free washing up bowl. Do I get extra brownie points or am I being naughty for doing things I shouldn't and burning myself out???

sheepgomeep · 27/08/2007 21:41

can i join too?
I've been 'trying' to do flylady for years but i always fall off and now my house is a tip all the time.

How do you lot organise your computer spaces and paperwork. i've tried everything and still can't keep on top of things. i lose bills, ad so on.

sheepgomeep · 27/08/2007 21:43

the only thing that I have done is wash dd2 bottles and put them in the sterilizer. She hasn't been well today so I need to have a break. will start tomorrow hopefully lol

entropy · 27/08/2007 21:54

sink is clean but I can't get it shiney!! have I failed on day one? DH has just been to inspect the sink and says its OK he really can't work out what I'm up to, he's looking for the catch bless him.

I have no cilit bang or barkeepers thingy. maybe thats why its not shiney. will have to take a trip out for supplies tomorrow.

BigBearistheBigBear · 27/08/2007 22:23

have been inspecting Flylady site, and she never mentions cleaning your BATH. What happens? Does that mean I just leave it? even though the kids probably PEE in it

luda thanks for detailed list! I will COPY you! LOL.

Will post a big old list of things to do tomorrow!

Am already thinking it up....hmmm.

Oooh, this is fun, haven't felt so motivated and excited for years

tibni · 27/08/2007 22:28

Sink all clean (white matt so shine not happening!)

Really need to get organised. Have looked at Flylady but never tried to follow the programme. I seem to have organised bursts but soon slack off!

Hope the thread can help keep me on track

Tommy · 27/08/2007 22:48

OK - you convinced me - sink clear and eveb unblicked manky bits of food from plughole and left the bowl with cold water and Milton with the washing brush and cloth in it

will someone tell me what I have to do tomorrow please?
(have to tidy up a bit but also make a birthday cake for DS2's party on Weds)

mm22bys · 28/08/2007 03:40

Hi BigBear,

I've known about FlyLady for a couple of years (can't say I've ever really got off the ground though) and the idea with your bathroom is that you "swish and swipe" it every day - so after you have a shower, or bath, you wipe it down - so you never have to spend ages doing a big clean.

I THINK that's how it's supposed to work, anyway, I guess the experts can set you (and me!) right!
