KonMari coming to Netflix?

I can’t find confirmation that this will be coming to UK Netflix, but it seems to be.

I think that my 2019 could do with a bit of a return to Kondoing!

1st Jan Grin

SpikyHedgehogg · 29/12/2018 17:57

For the UK?

WooYa · 29/12/2018 18:04

Yeah, if you search for 'Tidying up with Marie Kondo' it comes up Grin

OhioOhioOhio · 29/12/2018 18:07

On netflix? What is it, a documentary?

SpikyHedgehogg · 29/12/2018 18:10

Ooh, fabulous.

Looks like a reality series Ohio.

Oh that might be good

HalloumiGus · 30/12/2018 11:49

I really am looking forward to this. It's embarrassing how excited I am.

If you can't bear the wait they have a great programme on there already called Consumed. Just one season unfortunately but worth a watch.

SpikyHedgehogg · 30/12/2018 15:47

I hope it's not too American, I really like Marie Kondo's calm style and I'm not sure how it would handle a Consumed style approach.

No the trailer for KM doesn't look anything like Consumed. I still enjoyed Consumed but looking forward to watching KM. I felt happy just watching her in the trailer. She's adorable!

HalloumiGus · 31/12/2018 11:42

One more day!

God, I have a sad life! 😁

Fl0w3r · 31/12/2018 12:02

So excited for this too Grin

Fl0w3r · 31/12/2018 12:07

Just a quick one whilst we’re talking about decluttering and sparking joy.... has anyone successfully digitised their dvds?

toolazytothinkofausername · 31/12/2018 12:10

I'm also very excited for this Grin I need to start packing to move once the children go back to school, so this will give me the inspiration needed not to leave it all to the last minute :)

OhioOhioOhio · 31/12/2018 12:32

FlO

I threw all my dvds out, along with my h. Had no need for either.

Why do you want to keep your dvds?

MadauntofA · 01/01/2019 08:41

They are up! 8 episodes Smile

HalloumiGus · 01/01/2019 10:39

I really loved the first episode - it fitted our circumstances perfectly and I managed to get DH to watch it with me. Second episode is a retired couple who are a bit hoarder so less relevant but will be interesting to see how they approach the amount of stuff.

NearWildHeaven · 01/01/2019 10:40

I am loving this already

BatshitCrazyWoman · 01/01/2019 12:06

The first couple were really sweet Smile It's totally my type of programme - more so than Consumer.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 01/01/2019 12:07

*Consumed

HalloumiGus · 01/01/2019 12:49

I find the little home greeting / blessing bit really moving. There is something quite special about her and they manage to capture it really well - how meaningful it is what she's doing for those families.

DH watched the first episode and then went and cleared out our massive cupboard of doom downstairs. I have been procrastinating over it for months. So happy! It means I can move lots of infrequent but necessary komono around to free up the more accessible spaces for day to day items.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 01/01/2019 12:58

@Halloumi - excellent result with the cupboard of doom! I like her 'blessing' the house too. Years before Kon Mari was a thing, when moving out of a house, I insisted on being the last to leave it sp I could thank it and say goodbye Blush No idea where that came from, I just felt I had to do it!

SpikyHedgehogg · 01/01/2019 13:42

I'm watching episode 1. Their untidiness and the general noise from the children is really stress-inducing. (Is the little girl being breast-fed or 'just' cuddled?).

Really making me want to jump up out of my sick bed and Kondo my wardrobe!

OP posts:
Annasgirl · 01/01/2019 13:50

Oh going to settle in and watch now!!! I’ve been waiting all week. I redid my wardrobe and admin yesterday so I wouldn’t feel too guilty watching her!!!!

cowfacemonkey · 01/01/2019 14:05

Just watching now. I think the first couple still has ALOT of stuff so although it all looks tidy now its still a lot to keep maintained and organised. Think I’d like to see more ruthlessness in encouraging people to have far fewer things. You don’t have to tidy stuff you don’t have!

HalloumiGus · 01/01/2019 14:13

Just had another row about mess downstairs - hairbrush missing, toys everywhere. Lots of mess in house generally is mine but it's confined to particular areas. I don't care if I have to do the whole house single handed something needs to change this year. 2019 will be the last year I live in a shit tip. It is ruining the little time we all get as a family. I actually feel really unhappy thinking about it.
