One week deep clean- a room or two a day..anyone want to join me?

My house is fairly tidy in that everything does have a place (even if it isn't always in its place ) and on any given day I could have it presentable for visitors within an hour. It is clean enough most of yge time. However with 3 dc and working 3 days a week teaching I don't always have the time to deep clean each room.

So this week I plan to tackle a room or two a day ( realistically once the children are in bed) and really give them a good clean (doors, skirting, floors, etc.)
This is my plan
Tonight- master bedroom
Sunday- Ironing, utility room and study
Monday- Dining room and living room
Tuesday- conservatory/ playroom
Wednesday- bathroom, ensuite and down stairs toilet.
Thursday- kitchen
Friday- 3 kids rooms, hall, stairs and landing.

Each day I will make a list of everything I need to do in each room and tick it off on here to hold me accountable!
Does anyone want to join me?

I'm in, I'll need to start Monday though as I'm at a yoga course. House is a tip due to summer holidays. C

RJnomore1 · 28/07/2018 19:36

I'd like to do this but start next Saturday as I'm off Monday - Wednesday the following week ?

montymum · 28/07/2018 19:41

Excellent, jump in whenever you are ready! I can imagine even if I make a really good go of it this week there will always be more I can be doing each week.

Try The Organised Mum Method.

I've been meaning to do it for months Blush

knockknockknock · 28/07/2018 19:44

Have a look at The Organised Mum Method. It's fab and sounds just what you need. They have a Facebook, Instagram and web page. I've just started and love it.

RJnomore1 · 28/07/2018 19:44

Great month it will be good to see how you get on before I start

jumbledumble · 28/07/2018 19:46

Me! I'm in.

I started DD's room earlier and lost motivation and ate a mars bar instead. Will finish it tomorrow then I'm away for a couple of days, so I'll have to take a break and start again after that.

1 week boot camp, then it goes to 30 mins a day.

I have seen that and plan to do that once I have done a really good clean this week. I have my brother in law staying to look after the children next weekend and I having someone else living in my house has motivated me to make sure it is properly clean!

Excellent we can keep each other motivated. I will check out the boot camp NEFINK. To be fair I do know what I need to do just need to not colapse on the sofa once the kids are all in bed . Just need to get 6 year old and 7 month old into bed now then will put up my list for the master bedroom tonight.

I’m planning to do this this week too! I have tried in the past but for some reason it always takes me longer than I expect. My son is away right now so his room is getting blitzed Grin

WooYa · 28/07/2018 19:54

Definitely look into the The Organised Mum Method... it's amazing and Gemma (the creator) is lovely! My house has never been cleaner Grin

5000KallaxHoles · 28/07/2018 19:56

I'm doing something similar the week after next (kids and DH - so the two primary sources of mess in this house - are away). Until then we're in survival mode.

Is Tuesday a stealth boast?

lynmilne65 · 28/07/2018 20:04

No !!!

RainbowDashed · 28/07/2018 20:05

Ooh yes, me! I'm in! I work term time only, I've spent the last week flopping on the sofa sweating profusely resting after a busy term so now I need to pull my finger out. I was planning to do a room a day from Monday so this has come at the perfect time. I'm off to read the links :)

ItsalmostSummer · 28/07/2018 20:05

I’m joining you.... :) and will follow the organized mum bootcamp to get started. Thanks for starting this thread. I need the motivation and support Blush. In fact, I will try and follow your Saturday and Sunday plan OP and then start the other bootcamp plan from Monday. Thanks again for this Flowers

SchrodingersMeowth · 28/07/2018 20:07

Mines has become a mess since school holidays started (Scotland so they go back in just over 2 weeks from now) and I need it cleared for the sake of my sanity and wanting a nice place to live.

I started painting the hall and painted a wall in the living room.

Will try and gut one a day and try and paint (or make DP Grin ) at least to walls a day.

We have a small 2 bed with wet room, 2 boys and because it’s so small clutter creeps in really easily! Blush

montymum · 28/07/2018 20:09

Haha fair enough Lynmilne65 I understand it isn't the most tempting invite.
Nike the conservatory/ playroom are one and the same. Basically an overheated, kallax, plastic toy hell..definitely not a stealth boast.

Grin
montymum · 28/07/2018 20:17

Excellent there are lots of us. I could see loads of decluttering threads but it didn't quite match what I needed so it is great to see lots of us in the same boot. Baby now asleep and eldest just gone up so will sort my cleaning bit and have a cup of tea to ensure he is asleep before I venture upstairs.

I'm in starting Monday!

Karigan198 · 28/07/2018 21:43

I did this three weeks ago and the place looks like a shithole again already 😕

Would it be truly awful to just sack it off and wait for some hoarder style tv show to deep clean it for me?

NEFink · 28/07/2018 21:51

Im staying on the sofa and probably tomorrow
