One week deep clean- a room or two a day..anyone want to join me?

My house is fairly tidy in that everything does have a place (even if it isn't always in its place ) and on any given day I could have it presentable for visitors within an hour. It is clean enough most of yge time. However with 3 dc and working 3 days a week teaching I don't always have the time to deep clean each room.

So this week I plan to tackle a room or two a day ( realistically once the children are in bed) and really give them a good clean (doors, skirting, floors, etc.)
This is my plan
Tonight- master bedroom
Sunday- Ironing, utility room and study
Monday- Dining room and living room
Tuesday- conservatory/ playroom
Wednesday- bathroom, ensuite and down stairs toilet.
Thursday- kitchen
Friday- 3 kids rooms, hall, stairs and landing.

Each day I will make a list of everything I need to do in each room and tick it off on here to hold me accountable!
Does anyone want to join me?

Think I'm done for today - cleaned out the remaining kallax in the lounge (the hair bobble/bow collection) plus washed all the flipping gymnastics/dancing leotards (the kids have decided to quit gymnastics - toying with keeping in case they go back vs charity shopping them), washed the karate kits... all of which live in the living room kallax unit. Polished everywhere through the lounge and looked inside the oven and decided not to clean that today. I keep doing bits of the kitchen as and when I'm in there rather than a whole separate day of it, likewise a little weed of DD1's wardrobe every time I go up the stairs...cleaning fatigue is starting to set in a bit now to be honest so I need a bit of a break.

I know what you mean I am totally done today, did the whole kitchen diner, which is massive with lots of things in it, we have it all retro with a teapot collection, well stocked bar etc. Everything was greasy and fusty. Did the cupboards, everything pulled out and wiped off, loads of stuff got rid of, found food colouring with a sell by date 10 years ago! Even did the horrible junk drawer, everything was full of crumbs and mess. Now need a shower as I feel grubby, it is lovely and clean but by god that was a mission! Just bedrooms bathrooms x 2 to do now, and hallway to do but will just potter on those when I get a minute here and there. Got to do a trip to the tip soon as I've generated do much rubbish. Even DH managed to throw away some stuff, electronics and cables. Still kept some fairly useless crap but can't have everything.. Mind you he's away for 3 days now so maybe it's my chance...

Mine's hidden the fucking Ferrari flag I'm desperate to throw out prior to him going away cos he knows I'd bloody well do it and he only keeps it to wind me up. My DH is a sod.

Bags of clothes are gradually going into my car boot for the customary 3 weeks driving around the local area before I remember to take them to the charity shop ritual.

Haha yeah I've done that, also my nemesis is a rubbish old star trek game that he's never played but he will not get rid.. Its going in the attic.

Glad I am not the only one who takes charity shop bags for days out in the car. Today I did started tomm and did the living room and usual quick clean of kitchen and bathrooms. The rest of the house has stayed clean and tidy too.

Meant to be bedrooms today - but there's not much to do in the kids' room that doesn't necessitate moving a precision arranged playmobil tableau of the day that Santa went to the pyramids to fight the pirates... so did a quick wipe down there (changed bedding right at the end of last week and the kids have been away so no point doing that) and bunged in the hall and stairs since we don't really have a hall to speak of. Not doing the porch at the moment since it's one of those mini conservatory ones MN hates (but is a place to hang coats and stuff so useful) and it's boiling in this weather.

So only the kitchen cupboard finger marks, fridge outside and inside to tackle and I've at least been through the house fairly heavily once over. Oh yeah and I need to get some proper oven cleaner as my attempts using what I had to hand just aren't cutting it and it's terrible.

Anyone else still going or have we all been cleaned out? I've done the fridge today - it needed a good weed out and scrub and reorganise (DH just chucks stuff in there after he's done the shopping) so I've chopped and frozen all the veg that isn't going to last till DH and the kids get back (peppers and a butternut squash which will go into meals in the next week or so) and cleaned it all out beautifully. Tried to tackle the fingermarks on the outside which are DD2 who likes to swing around the big long pole handles like she's a pole dancer or something but it's still got smears all over it like normal... but they're clean smears at least.

Still need to track down a better oven cleaner to get that sorted and did halfway around the kitchen in terms of cupboards - so need to finish off the kitchen tomorrow, steam mop the floor and then basically just wipe round the bathroom and hoover through on Friday and I've gone through the house fairly heavily (still need to hoover some skirting boards and clean off a radiator or so which will pick up as it annoys me). Quite how much I keep it up when the husband and kids are at home is another matter - and when I end up back at work as well!

I'm still going I completed my deep clean but still doing a good clean if a couple of rooms each day. Sounds like you will be in a similar place after tomorrow Kallax. We go off on holiday on Friday for 9 days and it is nice knowin I will come back to a clean house.

I still have my bedroom to do and bathrooms, plus we have DH and his fire d here this week digging up the garden and building walls, there's dust everywhere! I think I'm going to have to start again, I'd hoped to start TOMM this week but I've no hope as have to be out of the house with the kids to avoid the mess! We are away camping next week so I'm going to attempt a big clean Sunday to get rid of the worst of it, then start TOMM properly after that. Dreading bathrooms, so much clutter that needs to be gone through!
