And mayonnaise, mustard, Branston pickle.

We have a new fridge but I know my husband will fill it with 84 jars and bottles of crap.

Give me science!

Yes, I do. The storage instructions say to refrigerate after opening.

happymummy12345 · 27/07/2018 13:02

Always once open

mommybear1 · 27/07/2018 13:04

Yes I do when opened

mrbob · 27/07/2018 13:04

Yup

ILikeyourHairyHands · 27/07/2018 13:04

Weirdos. That's who.

MigGril · 27/07/2018 13:04

Yes when open it says to on the tub/jar. War horrified to find put MIL didn't they have two fridges to. I now refuse ketuch at her imagine it sitting in the cupboard in this head.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/07/2018 13:05

I always do. It tastes horrible at room temperature.

Pascha · 27/07/2018 13:06

I do. I assume the storage instructions that say refrigerate after opening have some basis in science otherwise why bother printing them at all?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 27/07/2018 13:06

It's got so much sugar, salt and vinegar I've never known a bottle to go rogue in my many years of ketchup-owning.

SazCat · 27/07/2018 13:08

I do but a friend of mine doesn't, saw ketchup and even mayonnaise sitting on a shelf!

marateach · 27/07/2018 13:12

Yes, it belongs in the fridge!

LynetteScavo · 27/07/2018 13:17

Yes to ketchup, no to jam...although DH always puts jam in the fridge.

heavandhell · 27/07/2018 13:20

Mayonnaise, salad cream etc I do but ketchup and brown sauce I keep in the cupboard.

Hullabaloo31 · 27/07/2018 13:22

No, none of it! I hate cold ketchup on hot chips!

It's full of vinegar and preservatives, never seen a bottle of ketchup go off, ever.

LapdanceShoeshine · 27/07/2018 13:22

I do, since a bottle EXPLODED in the cupboard Shock

TeeBee · 27/07/2018 13:23

I put them all In the fridge. Once you've opened them, bacteria can enter the container so refrigerating them slows down the multiplication of the bacteria.

Bubbles050 · 27/07/2018 13:23

Yes here too

LapdanceShoeshine · 27/07/2018 13:24

I also put red wine in the fridge for a while atm.

(Room temperature means 15-18C, not 25-30 Grin)

Abetes · 27/07/2018 13:26

I keep them all in fridge.

Ilovebeingamumtobabyno1 · 27/07/2018 13:26

I do every time, even before I opened it

QueenOfMyWorld · 27/07/2018 13:28

I refrigerate all liquid condiments apart from vinegar

probatenovice · 27/07/2018 13:28

Mayo in fridge
Everything else in cupboard. Ketchup
Is a vinegar based condiment. Its fine unrefrigerated.

Also- putting fridge cold ketchup on bacon sandwiches is grim.

Babymamamama · 27/07/2018 13:28

Yep we do. Why not? Keeps them fresh. I've a colleague at work who stashes in between uses a salad cream (opened) in a stationery cupboard. All kinds of wrong.

LapdanceShoeshine · 27/07/2018 13:32

The taller bottles (eg ketchup, mayo, salad cream, salad dressing) go in one of the door shelves, & I have a storage box like this for all the small jars like mustard - it holds a lot anyway, & you can fit more on top if necessary (in my house people are always opening a new jar because they “couldn’t find” the open one 🙄)
