Or is it just me?

I do...infact I have 2 crap accumulating corners! Not good!

misdee · 20/05/2007 21:17

it came with the house.

LucyJones · 20/05/2007 21:17

yes! Ours is by the fruit bowl. We keep post, keys, purses etc there but there is always a myriad of crayons, used cinema/parking tickets/pens etc

Whizzz · 20/05/2007 21:17

I have a kitchen drawer that breeds crap whenever you shut it

BettySpaghetti · 20/05/2007 21:18

yes, although we have tried to contain it in a basket -its breaking loose though.

colditz · 20/05/2007 21:18

I have 3.

One on the table, on and around the fruit bowl. One on the surface near the back door (there is a mirror there). One in and aroun the breadbin.

SlightlyMadSquonk · 20/05/2007 21:19

What do ou mean corner in teh kitchen...my corner is the kitchen!!!!

Bouquetsofdynomite · 20/05/2007 21:19

Mine are getting higher and higher as my 2yr old grows and finds new things to climb on.

fizzledizzle · 20/05/2007 21:19

no this is an essential area in any kitchen. unfortunately mine is no longer confined to just a corner it taking over the whole room!

DimpledThighs · 20/05/2007 21:19

yes - flylady calls them 'hotspots' (and also subcnciouslessy calls you 'inadequate')

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:19

I (ooh! Get me!) bought a filing tray for it.

Result is crap spilling over and around said filing tray.

Ours is near the fruit bowl, too.

Yep!
We have the kitchen crap corner too.

fireflyfairy2 · 20/05/2007 21:21

I have 2.

One beside the tv, where there is an empty tissue box with hair bobbles and lipstick and toothbrushes etc.

Another one beside the fruit bowl for car keys, post etc..

I tidied today and emptied 3 bags of rubbish for the recycling bin out of 6 drawers!! And now I have cleaned the hot spots of their rubbish, I bet they will be just as bad this time next week!

ludaloo · 20/05/2007 21:21

I have one corner shelf with goodness knows what on it...and my other one is the fruit bowl too...which is by the fish tank...so all that side gets stuff put on it.

compo · 20/05/2007 21:22

bubble - my dh went one better, he bought a filing cabinet ffs!
You should see the state of it - one whole drawer is full of old Xmas and b/day cards for goodness sake!

WideWebWitch · 20/05/2007 21:22

I have a fruit bowl with fruit and another with crap in it. Off hand I know ours contains

a calculator
a colouring book
a comb
pens
crayons
a couple of letters we need to deal with
other crap

KTeePee · 20/05/2007 21:22

I think I have one in every room...

ludaloo · 20/05/2007 21:23

compo...that you have a kitchen big enough for a filing cabinet...

MerryMarigold · 20/05/2007 21:24

i have them in every room, it's more convenient that way. actually, in my bedroom the corner has spread into the whole room. kitchen is probably best room in the house!

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:24

And you know, don't you, that even (if) and when the kitchen is gleamy and clutter free it is plotting and muttering to itself.

The first things to creep back are, IME, those slips of paper from school sayimg things like 'Johnny forgot his PE kit today' which makes me feel even more inadequate.

kittypants · 20/05/2007 21:25

I DEFINITELY have at least one in every room

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:27

And that 'walk around the house with a box to put things that are in the wrong place into' stuff is meaningless.

There is a whole sub-species of stuff that doesn't belong anywhere.

Except in the crap corner.

OP posts:
pirategirl · 20/05/2007 21:28

have a few, not explicitly 'corners ' tho, just areas on work surfaces that have on them

bills to be sorted, daughter's school pictures, bus timetables, more daughter's crap like pens, lost bits and bobs. The microwave is suffering with the same, as is on top of the fridge.

I may well be rather chuffed that I have downsized all my legal/bank paper work to one ring binder, but the rest of it is in my kitchen.

Also, the kitchen table, always covered with drawings and the latest pens/pencils.

Dont even get me started on the kitchen drawers which are a disgrace, and took approx 3 weeks to get that way ( after moving in here).
