Or is it just me?

ludaloo - no no, the filing cabinet isn't in the kitchen!!

Mercy · 20/05/2007 21:31

haha! me too - there are at least 2 in the kitchen.

The largest one comprises dd's 'A & C stuff'

I reduce it/chuck it out about once a month but she replenishes it just as quickly.

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:32

compo. So you must have an overflowing filing cabinet elsewhere and a crap corner in the kitchen?

Where does all this stuff come from and why can't I just bin it?

OP posts:
kittylette · 20/05/2007 21:33

yea, next to microwave

compo · 20/05/2007 21:34

what makes it worse is that the filing cabinet full of crap is in ds' room as there is nowhere for it to go atm

kittypants · 20/05/2007 21:34

NO it's not just you! ours is on top of a pine chest. there is a little square thing that overflows. post overflows. headphones, i-pods, business cards, crayons, pens, stamps, keys CRAP!

hate it.

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:36

Do you find that a lot of the stuff is in the 'not important enough to do something organised and grown-up with' like passports?

But is too good/important to be chucked?

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 20/05/2007 21:38

YES!

sorry for shouting.

but i'm hoping some flylady mn weirdo will come and solve this for us.

please.

didn't mean the weirdo bit. honest.

Mercy · 20/05/2007 21:38

Am amazed that WWW even vaguely knows the content of her crap corner.

My crap corners are mostly, well, just full of crap. With no home.

IntergalacticWalrus · 20/05/2007 21:38

My whole house is a "hotspot"

There is something within the walls that creates the ideal breeding conditions for shite, no matter how many time a week I sort it out. Especially when DP is the shite breeding catalyst (ie, it's all his)

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 21:44

Felt tip pens are my particular nemesis.

I had a bit of an 'Anthea' thing going for a while and kept a new set in a specially bought 'art box.' The Bubble boys could use them on the condition that they went back into the packet and back into the box.

That lasted for....oooh? About two colouring bouts?

They are now leaching into the crap corner. But I can't throw them, can I? Can't be arsed to find the packet, though..

soph. Anyone with continuously clean skirting boards is a psycho, IMO.

Apologies to those with a heavy 'wet-dusting' habit.

What I find amazing is if you have whatever it is in the pile of crap you know exactly what is there, even the fact that there is a paper clip or elastic band at the bottom etc. Put anything in the crap pile in a proper home nad you may as well of chucked it out, as 9 1/2 times out of 10 when you need it you can't remember where you put it!

tigi · 20/05/2007 21:47

i have a kitchen end shelf from work top to ceiling, every shelf has bits papers on it. every drawer in house is full of junk, the cupboard under stairs, the space under my dressing table. It's diabolical really!

WednesdayAdams · 20/05/2007 21:49

NO NO NO

i did always hated it in my mum's house and so far I am doing well keeping that silly corner non existant!

Very very very satisfying!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/05/2007 21:52

ah........I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better now, in the knowledge that I am not the only one with "crap corners"

We have a huge one in the only real worktop space in the kitchen, then on top of the dining table, and also on top of the tumble drier (although admittedly that is mostly clothes for ironing that never get ironed until needed).

Most crap corners are filled with live and dead batteries, countless receipts, pens, pencils, tools/screwdrivers, several buttons, hairbands, tablets, books, post/bills, mobile phones/chargers, strange plastic bits that seem to belong nowhere. It regularly gets scooped into a binliner and shoved in a spare hole in a cupboard (which we have very few of anyway), only to build up again a few days later....

Even Ikea cant solve our storage problems....

IntergalacticWalrus · 20/05/2007 21:55

And, can somebody tell me WHY I keep battereis and pens when they don't work anymore? Why do I try and wriote with a biro that's run out, and I then put it bcak where it cam,e from

WHY DO I DO THAT? AM I A FREAK?

NikkiBFG · 20/05/2007 21:56

Nope!!! DH has what I can only describe as a fetish for pens and keeps ones that have even run out!!!! I also gave him a lovely pot for his keys and passcard to keep side tidy and lo and behold its filed with all his coppers and spare change and the keys are still on the side....

I give up!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/05/2007 21:57

IG - are you my DP????

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 22:02

Batteries are kept because we're never quite sure that they are really dead.

And we never have time to use that little tester thingy on them..

next to fruit bowl here too, completely over flowing.was next to microwave but old foil jam tart case that somehow landed there almost caused microwave to explode

IntergalacticWalrus · 20/05/2007 22:02

No, but maybe I'm related to him

My DP is even worse, as he put EMPTY MILK BOTTLES BACK IN THE FRIDGE.

It pisses me off mucho.
