Or is it just me?

IGW. Aaaaargh! To the empty milk bottles.

Sounds like a case of 'can't be arsed to rinse them' to me.

Mr Bubble leaves coffee cups everywhere because someone will take them to the kitchen.

Don't get me started on bookshelves.

How many times do I tell DP "This shelf is for books. It's not for keys/wallets/football letters/shite/empty envelopes that haven't found their way into the recycling bin"

He never listens thouigh.

Heathcliffscathy · 20/05/2007 22:05

dh takes of pieces of clothing and drops them where he does.

and cannot cannot cannot close a drawer or cupboard door. ever. i think it is a syndrome of some kind.

Tommy · 20/05/2007 22:06

so glad to read this - I seem to have a few friends who don't have crap conbers in their kitchen.

I have 3 in my kitchen and the whole sideborad in the dining room is one...really must clear it up before party next weekend

Tommy · 20/05/2007 22:06

conbers?!

corners obviously

NuttyMuffins · 20/05/2007 22:06

Hmmm I have several, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the living room (computer desk) and bedside cabinet, all 3 areas are full of crap.

Computer desk currently has - perfume, nail varnish, kitchen timer, address book, nail file, cooling head stick, pile of letters, remote, 3 buttons, diary, parenting book, mug full of pens, hair clips, photo of dd2, 2 alpen bar wrappers, hand cream, camera, dvd, bag of sweets and 3 screw drivers.

NuttyMuffins · 20/05/2007 22:07

On it.

IntergalacticWalrus · 20/05/2007 22:08

That's the smae as the washing fairy that lives in our house that magically picks up DPs dicarded clothing from various places in the house and then washes tham and carefully puts them back within the next 24-36 hours.

He puts his dirty underpants next to the washing basket, as apprentky actually poutting them in there is too much bloody effort

And he never closes kitchen cupboards

Or puts the top back on his can of deodorant

[foams at mouth]

NikkiBFG · 20/05/2007 22:11

Or the recycling on top of the recycling box rather than in it......

Or puts the plates on the side and doesn't scrape them and stack them neatly...

Only notices when the things he drinks/eats runs out and not mine....

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 22:11

everyone seems to have screwdrivers in their crap corners. Mine are those little 'Ooh! Useful!' from a cracker type.

IGW. Even Mr Bubble is saying 'Nooooo!' to the empty milk bottles

I have a junk drawer called "the third drawer down" - when we moved 7 years ago this junk drawer was tipped into a box, transported and put back into the third drawer in the new kitchen so we know where it was!

And it's still there ....

Kaloo20 · 20/05/2007 22:14

those screwdrivers are not crap - they are fab for taking those tiny screws out that keep battery compartments covered on toys

hodgeymum · 20/05/2007 22:14

they are springing up all over our house, every room seems to have several!!!every so often dh has a gd tidy up but always manages to chuck out something important of mine (never his!)long live the crap corners,at least i know where everything is!

Bubble99 · 20/05/2007 22:16

Kaloo. That sounds totally reasonable and normal behaviour to me.

It's comforting to know where that comb/tape measure/bus timetable (out of date, but they must be similar times, musn't they?)

is.

I used to have a third drawer down, then we moved house to where the kitchen had no drawers - problem solved . Crap still everywhere else though

macmama73 · 20/05/2007 22:33

My whole house is covered in crap corners. I go around once a week and put everything into a basket that I then take up the stairs and forget about for another 2 weeks. My DH calls them my "Baustellen" which is German for building sites.

Roskva · 21/05/2007 09:48

Dh had a fit of clearing out his office yesterday (whatever did I put in his food??). So where did he put the homeless crap from his office? In dd's buggy and in the kitchen. And he had the cheek to be pissed off when I just emptied the crap from dd's buggy back to where it came from when I needed the buggy

gscrym · 21/05/2007 09:49

Yep, it's called the dining room.

SpawnChorus · 21/05/2007 09:58

Yes - most of it is DH's junk. Mobile recharger, some other cables, tapemeasure, a pot of fuses, some of his paperwork, mystery bits and bobs that look like they might be important but nobody knows what they are.

I passive-aggressively refuse to tidy it, and feel silent inward rage as I try to cook around it. Sometimes I deliberately splatter it to teach him a lesson [childish]

mamazon · 21/05/2007 10:00

yes. i have a mini worktop above a single unit that is right in the corner behond the fridge/freezer. for some reason anything that doesn't have a home ends up there.

Tortington · 21/05/2007 10:01

you mean on top of the fridge, behinf the microwave and in all the drawers?

emsiewill · 21/05/2007 16:13

I cleared out my crap drawer on Saturday (currently in "declutter mode").

Of the pens/biros that were in there, I threw away about two-thirds as they weren't working. And I still had....wait for it....

134 of them left.

So if you ever wondered what happened to all the pens in your house, now you know - they are somehow magically attracted to my house...

lilolilmanchester · 21/05/2007 19:15

yes, not only one in the kitchen, but one in our bedroom and the bathroom. Not sure how anyone manages not to have crap accumulators..... Kids have inherited the same tendency. Even tho everything should, in theory, have its place in their bedroom, both have a "junk box" where they throw things that have nowhere else to go. I guess we're breeding crap hoarders.

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 21/05/2007 19:29

Got three:

!. Next to the toaster in the kitchen - just had a look and there is a post-it note to remind me to do something 2mths ago Phone charger, packet of flower seeds, some garlic, blender (been there for ages) and numerous bits of paper.

  1. On the dining room table next to the fruit bowl - bills, keys, other bits of paper, pebbles etc etc.
  1. wall at top of the stairs.. tweezers, knickers, books etc etc.
Imawurzel · 21/05/2007 19:31

Its my spare bedroom.
But yeah, in between the toaster and nicrowave, or on top of the fridge.
Got my fridge on top of freezer on a piece of board.
