I will get recipo for you if you like?

WM finished now so i am going to get that hung out before making lunch. Then it won't be long before need to pick DS's up!

tortoise · 26/04/2007 12:37

That was easy! Just did a search on MN for me posting it before! I might have to make some this weekend now!!

6oz(170g) Butter
3oz(85g)light brown sugar
3oz(85g)Caster sugar
1 large egg
Few drops vanilla extract
8oz(225g)self raising flour
4oz(100g) choc chips
100g melted choc for decoration.

Pre-heat oven to gas mark 4/180C
In a bowl cream together the butter and sugars, add the egg and combine well.
Stir in the flour, vanilla extract and choc chips and mix well.
Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
Divide the mixture into 10 using dessert spoons and slightly flatten out leaving space for them to spread.
Bake for 10-12 mins.
Allow to cool before putting on a wire rack to cool completely.
Using a dessert spoon drizzle the melted choc over them.

These are quite large cookies and very yummy!I have used all caster sugar if you have no brown.

rollonsummerholidays · 26/04/2007 12:48

hi shouldbe you could try nigella recipe i use it all the time with the girls and they are quite yummy:

90g of soft unsalted butter (use ordinary)
100g caster sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract i use wee bottles you get vanilla something
200g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt!! ( i never put salt in as i use ordinary salted butter

gas 4/180C

cream butter and sugar then beat in egg and vanilla. add flour and baking powder and wrap in clingfilm and rest in fridge for atleast an hour.

roll out 1/2 cm cut into shapes

lined tray i just rub butter on non-stick works fine.

bake for 8-12 minutes

hope this is helpful really going to have to learn to do a link as i am very impressed by links and repeated list.

Londonmamma · 26/04/2007 12:48

Tort - they sound delicious Mcdreamy - well done for getting started.

The rest of you your lists make me want to curl up and go to sleep!! {grin}

I'm feeling very down today. There's a situation in my life that's beyond my control but which means I am 'stuck' for the moment, awaiting a decision that's totally out of my hands.

But, I WILL keep busy because that will help.
My next jobs:
1)lunch 2)recycling out 3)laundry 4)bedrooms

rollonsummerholidays · 26/04/2007 12:55

tort might have to try those yummy

to do

on lighter note have interview for a different sat morning job?

although hubby is going to be away but have explained that but still want to interview me so fingers crossed. Hope it will be worth my while to cover childcare cost it is only am so just be a wee break from the kids for me.

TO DO

~Clean Windows (going to try white vinigar solution and newspaper as Anthea seems to highly recommend it) done downstairs
~Do D/W done
~Washing 2nd load in load on line
~Make more biscuits
~Make a general To Do list for the house (for dh to look at! ) done
~Toddler group Been
~P.Office done
~Try Anthea's Borax and Vinigar mixture on the downstairs loo (still has limescale in the bottom! ) DONE ! WORKED !!
~Hoover upstairs
~Clean DD1's Lunch Boxes/Bag bag in wash
~Take off Highchair Straps to clean
~Wash Cat Bowls soaking

Well I can highly recommend Borax and white vinigar to get rid of limescale in the loo!

As for the vinigar and water and newspaper for the windows...I wasn't that impressed TBH. I switched to good old windolene. I would use it if I didn't have anything else...but you do have to work twice as hard to get it to sparkle and when you are reaching up it does my arms in!! (doesn't smell too good either really)

Shouldbe I have a really yummy biscuit recipe...they come out like cookies if you switch plain for s.raising flour. If you add chocolate M&M's to the mix they are a real hit with the kids!

  • 4oz Butter/Marg
  • 2oz Sugar
  • 6oz Plain flour (but I use s.raising)
  • Choc chips to add to mix (I use M&M's)

Cream Butter and sugar
Add flour
Mix into a dough, add choc if desired (although they are yummy plain too) roll out and cut into shapes.
Place shapes on to baking tray

Cook for approx 15 mins @ 150 oC

Beware...they go mega crispy if you leave them in too long. The edges need to just go golden...undercooked is better than overcooked as they harden when cooling.

(These are the biscuits I bought with me when we met by the way...but I had used Plain flour then...s.raising makes them lighter and they crack on the top like cookies...they spread out in the oven too...so don't place them too close)

BabiesEverywhere · 26/04/2007 13:05
