I'm about to make 'the list' would anyone like to join me? Thankfully the dc don't break up until next Friday but I do have the 2yo & 4 month old with me so I won't be entirely unhindered. Think the kitchen will be #1, I did the cooker last week & need the oopmh to do the rest now Xmas Blush

Last night, I cleaned the bombsite that the kitchen had turned into, cooked dinner, supervised the last chics being made for school, cleaned again, rolled out candy cane cookies and shooed DD to bed, cleaned again, collapsed with a. Glass of wine.

Did no other cleaning or sorting or organising.

But DD has the necessary treats for school today and made half of them herself.🎅

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 22/12/2017 09:23

I think treats or a stiff drink will be essential for school staff today!

This morning I'm wrapping dhs presents & cleaning the fridge.

It's still not feeling like Chrsitmas to me though, hopefully once everyone is home tomorrow it will!

I live with an OCD husband.

So everything if not only clean it’s in alphabetical order.

A young autistic child. Also very tidy.

A messy hyperactive teenager. Open his room and it’s Armageddon!

I like things cosy and sparkly for Christmas. So I provide warmth!

BiddyPop · 22/12/2017 10:36

Bernard I actually (for a change) was organized enough to send treats to the school staffroom on Wednesday. Today is just the treats for the class.

Minus the cards for teacher, resource teacher and SNA as DD had told me they were written, and admitted this morning that they weren't Xmas Angry

At least the teacher and resource teacher each get a voucher from the class as a whole, that I did contribute to in time.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 22/12/2017 11:49

Fridge is clean (& looking incredibly bare), cupboards & door have been wiped down. Will sweep & mop in a bit.

Taking the 2yo for his nap now & will put a wash on after.

That's far to in the ball for me Biddy everyone has had cards from mine but that's it.

Right, onwards! Xmas Wink

Today has gone far better than yesterday.

Tomorrow will be washing anything that stays still long enough for me to grab it.

Hope everyone else has had a good day too!

Happy Christmas Eve eve Cike.

Feel like I'm wading through treacle today. Our fridge that I'd just fucking cleaned packed up last night. Luckily FIL had one we could borrow so I ended up cleaning my 2nd fridge of the day at 11:30 last night [santa]. I got to to bed at 12:45 having only had 3 hours sleep the night before. The food shop is now in it all nice & cold. I've a bit of washing & hoovering to do today.

My list for tomorrow is:
Prep veg
Clean lounge
Wash/change our bedding
Take dc to the park
Get dc to bed without murdering them
Bring presents down
Drink something, anything & prey the baby let's me get a decent stretch of sleep!

Well we aren’t ready but better than it could have been. I’ve picked up something nasty and had two days in bed. I’ve made it downstairs today but am of no use. The DSs have stepped up though and have done a big food shop and been to the bakery, butcher and smokery. The ham is cooking and they’ve finished the olives already. Hopefully DS1 is collecting my cider this evening. The place isn’t clean it’s “ish” but a quick tidy should be ok. There was much moaning and groaning from DS2 over DS1s choice of tree as he hacked away at it to get it to stand up, but it’s up now and decorated. It’s a good example of how rubbish I feel that I haven’t yet been over to it and rearranged everything!
Don’t know how they are going to react to going to take lunch to grandads on their own tomorrow but I’ll cross that one when I have to. Thank goodness I started presents etc early!

ProseccoMamam · 24/12/2017 16:52

Well I had the flu and now that's being followed up with a lovely cold. Have been out of it for days mostly sleeping and feeling terrible. Presents are wrapped and the food is defrosting. The house is a shit tip and I hope to have a tidy round when kids are in bed. Tomorrow is going to be awful I need restSad

KnightsOfCydonia · 25/12/2017 01:15

I got almost everything done. My washing basket isn't as empty as I'd like but I'll hide it before people come over. And kitchen could still do with a clean but I'll do that after breakfast tomorrow morning.
Lounge and dining room look great, and table is all set and I've prepped all my veggies so hoping tomorrow won't be too stressful.

cikecaka · 27/12/2017 07:52

Going to miss this thread. Love doing my lists unless it's a pre Christmas 2018 thread!

ProseccoMamam · 27/12/2017 15:22

After being ill over Christmas I have suddenly got my energy back and am completely gutting the entire house, it feels amazing! Windows are open wide, washing machine is gobbling my sofa cushions and the smell of dettol is in the air HOW BLISSFUL

cikecaka · 28/12/2017 11:09

Hope nobody minds, but going to put up a small list for myself today.

Tidy sitting room
Clear out fire
Light fire
Clear mantle
Dust mantle
Hoover

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 28/12/2017 11:31

We can make it pre Christmas 2018 Cike we'll stand half a chance of getting everything done! Wink

I got 90% of my jobs done in the end & everyone seemed to have a good day which is what counts.

My only job today is attempt to wash us all in an actual bath! We've had no hot water since 16/12 so it's been a case of the mixing bowl & water from the kettle mixed to temp. However the water does get very hot (for about 10/15 seconds) before the boiler cuts out so if one of us stands in the kitchen to reset the boiler it might be possible. I swear I'm going to flip at my HA next week when the part doesn't fix it (because it won't, I've had an independent engineer in who's confirmed it's another one that's gone since but the HA are refusing to do anything until then).

Is anyone else finding the post xmas clean much tougher than the pre Christmas clean?
I had 14 guests for dinner on Xmas day and fee like all of my floors are disgusting!
The kids rooms are a riot and I can't seem to find places for all the new stuff. Confused

cikecaka · 28/12/2017 18:39

Yes Knights, trying to keep one room tidy in case of visitors though had to put off visitors today because all 4 DCs are not well and didn't want to pass it on.
Trying to get back on track with the washing

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 29/12/2017 15:39

Can one of you talk some sense in to me? I'm considering having a declutter! I feel like I'm nesting again Xmas Shock I'm definitely not pregnant though.

OP posts:
ProseccoMamam · 29/12/2017 22:33

I've done lots of DIY today and a big clean. Just the washing up to do and the sides need a wipe down. Then I can go to sleep in peace Grin
