Oh DH....Its time to get up!!!!

Jelley · 22/04/2007 08:43

Morning all

I suspect in rl she is probably not as rude to people It is easy to drop in to a thread, post something blunt and leave. Most people don't but into a strangers conversation with a comment and leave again in rl I hope....

I was inspired by the list shouldbe The fighting always happens when you aren't paying as much attention. But kids have to learn to argue and get over it (eventually).

DDs have church this pm (Brownies are going to a St Georges day service - I don't go to church) so we have things to do, plus all yesterdays jobs that I didn't do because we were out all day..

Kitchen
bathroom
tomato seeding repotting (this is geting urgent now. really need to do it today or they will die)
change beds
hoover
clean shoes
find and fill in consent forms
take dds to church
shopping
2 x washing

I also have more to do, but will see how I get on with that lot.

glitterfairy · 22/04/2007 08:57

Hello shouldbe, luadloo and jelley.

One of my closest friends in the world who went to school with me is a long term mner but so what? She is not all airs and graces and certainly doesnt think she is better than a newbie. Cant understand it although I know that communities can become quite insular.

Anyway sweeping out the comments what about this meet up? Shall I start a thread in the meet up section? What do you all think?

My list for today looks like this

Washing
Tidying
Hoovering
DD to ballet
Enjoying rest day
Watch marathon and consider ever doing it from comfort of sofa!

glitterfairy · 22/04/2007 08:59

Blimey EHM how rude of me hello adn good morning sorry! I am trying to be good like you and personalise it but sometimes get forgetful. Also hello to everyone else

Aufish · 22/04/2007 10:28

Good morning girls, I'm back and feeling alot better today.

Here's my list:

W/M loaded done
washing up and drying up
kitchen cleaned
another 2 or 3 loads of washing to be done
bathrooms to be cleaned
general tidy up of the front room, kids have trashed it!
need to go and get some fruit for lunch boxes tomorrow

most probably find something else to do at some point.

Aufish · 22/04/2007 10:32

have I missed out on something yesterday? Please spill the beans need something to make me laugh after a stressful day

SimplySparkling · 22/04/2007 10:58

Hi Aufish. I've just popped on here whilst waiting for ds to finish what he's reading so that we can walk the dog. You didn't miss out on anything nice, or funny. Moving on is probably the best thing to do about it all. Anyway...I'm glad you got through the tough day you had. Well done you!

Got to go, the dog is desperately waiting. We've left it so late in the morning to go to get the paper that I bet my usual paper will have gone and I'll have to choose one of the others. [cross with myself emoticon] See you all later!

mummy2ashton · 22/04/2007 11:26

morning. just had a quick look through this thread and see there has maybe been a bit of trouble here? [insert freshfaced relative newbie who is so naive emoticon]. anyway, i know nowt about it so i will tell you all that so far today i have not even got out of my jammies, but they are new jammies so i am breaking them in

flylady would be angry with me

i will get off this sofa today and do something. i really need a coffee first, i am so exhaused.

anyway, hope everyone is well, and i am looking forward to this weeks zone because i cleaned my bedroom last week (under the bed and everything, and let me tell you, that was a first, i found my birth plan and antacid tabs there from when i was pregnant with ds! and he's 2 now lol) so hopefully iwont have much to do!

xxx

SimplySparkling · 22/04/2007 12:08

Hi mummytoashton. Breaking in pjs. What are you like? Enjoy the lazy time. You can always try to make up for it later.

Brag alert. I've walked the dog, showered and dressed, taken all my tablets - even the one I usually forget, fetched the paper (which will take me all week to read), and loaded the d/w! Last night, I'd just posted that I was going to do some more ironing before dh and ds came home and they promptly arrived so I did the washing up and it wasn't until I was filling the bowl that I realised what I was doing! Will someone bring back the real Simply and take away this imposter please! Also, I made dh notice how clean the shower was so that he could praise my hard work from Friday!

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 14:49

Not doing very well...feeling very

~rowed with dh and kids done

Fed up and tired. Back to feeling like a rotten wife and mother
I've also pulled my shoulder somehow and it hurts, badly.

mummy2ashton · 22/04/2007 15:17

aww shouldbe, it seems to me you've done alot, esp for the day of rest and all that!

im sure your a fab wife and mother.

my ds is eating smarties and watching tv, and my dp (well ex dp) is out with his new girlfriend, so if you feel like a crap wife and mother think of me and you will instantly feel better!

Jelley · 22/04/2007 16:49

shouldbe you are doing fine. Just give yourself a bit of a break. The rest will wait for another day.

Kitchen done
bathroom
tomato seeding repotting (this is geting urgent now. really need to do it today or they will die) done
change beds and this was a Saturday job.
hoover done
clean shoes dds don't have any that fit
find and fill in consent forms done
take dds to church done
shopping done
2 x washing

All I have to do now is cook and eat a roast dinner, bath ds, put all 3 to bed, and drink a large glass of wine

SimplySparkling · 22/04/2007 17:01

I agree with the others shouldbe. Try not to dwell on anything that hasn't gone as you wanted it to and remember that we don't agree with each other all the time. No-one does. Try to enjoy the rest of the day. My top tip is to do a jigsaw or puzzle or go out with the kids for a short walk, maybe just to the nearest post box. If the children haven't had a treat yet today, take something with you and sit on the bench. Grapes, dried apricots, Smarties, whatever you prefer!

Off to do some ironing now. The pile is still huge! I'll have to ask dh and the kids to make tea. It'll only be a salad, they can manage that, I'm sure. Fair play to ds, he made a crumble for pudding at lunch time. Yum!

Aufish · 22/04/2007 17:09

My done list:

Hoover
2 loads of washing
2 loads of drying (raining here)
bathrooms
washing up and drying up
kitchen tidied
front room tidied

To do

2 kids need to be showered, the others have showered themselves
shoes need to polished
school uniforms need to be ironed

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 17:09

Thanks you guys

I'm feeling very slightly better - dh took the kids for a bike ride while I got on with sorting the office so it's nice and tidy for dh's inspection tomorrow (the knock-on effect is that our bedroom is a state - junk moved from office to main bedroom but never mind)

Still haven't planted the sunflowers but hope to get them done before bedtime and need to iron dds school uniform before the morning. Also need to make supper but it'll have to be pasta/something quick for the kids now and maybe something nicer for dh and I later....

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 18:03

Ahhh, have had almost an hour in the garden and am really feeling the benefits of fresh air I'm really enjoying the garden this year and think it's a great place to potter and relax. Back inside now to quickly run the hoover round upstairs and on the stairs while dh supervises kids supper time, then will be back out in the garden watering etc

glassslipper · 22/04/2007 18:05

guys - i'll be away from tomorrow until friday so have a nice week and i'll catch up with you all when i get back xx

glitterfairy · 22/04/2007 18:23

Have a good time glassslipper. shouldbe gardening can really relax you (except when the slugs eat your fave plant) and apparently most 80 year olds who are still fit garden.

Have lice inspected dd and found none yipee! My least favourite job. She is now bathed, tea is cooking, shoes cleaned for school and hoover is waiting for me upstairs.

Would love a glass of wine but havent had more than four glasses since January and am saving it for something really good to celebrate.

EHM · 22/04/2007 18:41

glassslipper have a nice time away. shouldbe glad you are feeling better after your time in the garden. You do a great job, don't so hard on yourself.{{hugs}}

In all seriousness, I would be willing to host a meet up here in Oxfordshire if anyone was interested... Not sure how practical it would be but a summer bring-and-share lunch thing could be fun

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 19:01

Just having to play the "Hippo Song" again for the kids - they LOVE it Thanks Luda
