SimplySparkling · 21/04/2007 21:45

Hi Jelley. Thanks, sorry it was such a long read. Poor you, having yukky maggots to deal with. I don't like them at all, but was always pleased to rid a sheep or lamb of them and feed them (the maggots) to the birds as punishment! Does that sound warped?

Aha shouldbe. I have two very good school friends who share your b/day week! You are in good company. cbeebies? What time is it on? I wouldn't mind seeing it myself just to see what new childrens programmes are on these days. Mine are off childrens programmes except for Newsround and one or two other bits now. Getting older, I guess. Ds likes Top Gear! Dd likes Grease and that ice skating thing. Stuff like that.

Hi Mhamai and tort.

Right. I've done an hour or more of ironing whilst keeping dd company watching Grease. I want to go and do a bit more now whilst dh and ds are still out. I'll give up the moment they arrive back. Strewth, it's late. Dd and ds got back just before 10pm last night so that is 2 late nights in a row for ds!

tortoise · 21/04/2007 21:51

Finally all quite in the tort house!!
DS's have been a bit wold today. Am hoping its just excitement at being home at last!

glitterfairy · 21/04/2007 21:55

HI simply good post and EHM I often laugh at her coming into the yurt thread (which is weird) but doesnt merit scorn. We all take no notice though and laugh.

I go to certain spaces on mn and not others really and know where the good people are. I dont pay much attention to any fighting or scraps and often miss them entirely but get told about them later.

I run a discussion board for nurses and know that there are always people who upset others and will always flounce off or cause a fight. I have got more laid back about this now though and only moderate very lightly when nutters come on (MN has had a few as well).

Take care and have a good night everyone. EHM hope you get some sleep.

Aufish · 21/04/2007 22:00

Hi girls just a quick message on here to say I have survived my day with my mother, full story if anyone wants to read it is on the bar thread.

tortoise · 21/04/2007 22:09

Glad you survived Aufish.
Bar thread is very long.Could you just copy and paste it to here?!

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 07:36

Good morning - am I the first one up?
Kids shared ds's not-quite-so-new-anymore bed last night so they've been up since bright and early! I woke to hear my first cuckoo of the year Looks set to be another nice day here and I have lots I'd like to get done plus dh will be getting all the last bits in place for his big work inspection tomorrow so we'll all be busy...

Going to sit and think through my list then type it up in a minute x

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:05

OK, lots of thinking time and a cup of tea later and here's my list ~
~unload/reload/run dw done
~hang out washing done
~2x more washing 1st load in
~s&s kitchen done
~make beds
~take kids to church
~clear out fridge
~PLANT SUNFLOWER SEEDS!
~other garden jobs
~hoover and dust upstairs
~check supplies of plastic plates etc ready for next weeks party
~weekly shop (perhaps)
~tidy car

There are lots of other jobs in my head but I'm not going to list them and then be that I haven't done them....this list looks managable

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:14

Hi Everybody, Morning shouldbe simplyS your post was great, I agree she does normally apologise & that the comments made about her on Threads can be hurtful. I posted on a forum chat yesterday agreeing with what a MN had said about her. Just posted 'well said'. Then regret came in, shouldn't stoop to her level & the 'cod bashing' does get pretty harsh. She reminds me of a bully at school
glitter thanks too.
jelley my birthday is in the first week & very excited at the possibility of a flylady meet up. tort glad all is well.
aufish glad you are ok after seeing your mum.
sorry if I missed anyone i think I may stork grouchy too to get her back here.

Will be back later.x You guys are fab my fav part of MN. I think I may just stick to this thread & avoid others.

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:15

All hell has broken loose here since my last post - dd and ds have had the most awful fight (biting, kicking, screaming, the full works) so they've both been sent to their rooms to cool down

Not a good start to the day

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:15

shouldbe big list for a Sunday, good luck

Morning

I actually had a slight lie in today!! no one woke up until 7.30!!!!

EHM what annoys me most is when she is rude and offensive, about 20 other people jump in to defend her actions! I don't care how long she has been around...sometimes she is downright heartless, but it usually gets swept under the carpet. I'd stay well away, as you'll be pounced on by the masses for telling her what you think!!
simply summed it up well....I just stick to this thread really, and post a few replies here and there....I rarely start a thread, I have had too many go the wrong way!!!!

shouldbe a cuckoo! cool! I haven't heard one for years I don't think! Shame about your laptop maybe you can save and get it a bit later in the year? Glad you have DD all sorted though

Mhamai I spied you on another thread yesterday, I was going to pop in and say hi, but didn't want to hijack! Nice to see you back

Hello to ALL

Well I have no idea what I'm doing today...probably just a general tidy as usual. DH is working again!!! He is still in bed now but he is going in at some stage...

May be back in a bit with a list..

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:17

oh dear shouldbe what brought that on?hope they are both ok

OP posts:
shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:18

Thanks EHM can't be bothered anymore - kids row has made me and all my oomph for getting on today has been drained...

Better go and have a shower and try to get back on track...

ludaloo · 22/04/2007 08:20

gosh, my post took so long to write, I missed your posts!

shouldbe oh dear! Lets hope they cool down a bit!

EHM I have seen the cod bashing threads too, and while they are awful, she does bring it on herself IMO! She seems to bounce back quite well though. I have noticed she has breaks from MN too, when it all gets too much.

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:22

EHM they were arguing over a playmobil piece..there are plenty of other pieces there was no need for a fight...and of course I was upstairs on MN when I shouldbe downstairs with them avoiding such arguements

and with myself more than anything...

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:24

luda i agree with you I couldn't give a flying fig either how long she's been a MNetter & I don't understand the fan club either. It like the school bullies which is very . There was a thread last week which was posted by a long term(don't know the timescales involved to qualify long term MN) MNetter & somebody actually posted that it this had been posted by a 'newbie' they wouldn't have gotten away with the thread! FFS what difference should it make how long you've been a MN, if you are nasty & rude contiually you should be asked to leave politely by MN Towers!

Good lord I am turning in a ranting lunatic, I must step away from the laptop & take a deep breath. A cup of tea is in order. Have a good day luda

OP posts:
ludaloo · 22/04/2007 08:25

I would go and have a nice shower, and hope they calm down a bit. Don't be cross with yourself! You can't be watching over them every minute of the day.

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:27

shouldbe don't be & these things will happen, you could have been in the kitchen making a cuppa & it would have kicked off just the same{hug}

OP posts:
shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:27

I avoid most other threads too - I like you all here and find you're all happy to give advice/entertainment/support/encouragement making little need for me to go elsewhere on MN

Thanks for all of the above

ludaloo · 22/04/2007 08:28

EHM Yes...it does tend to make you a bit frantic sometimes! I usually turn the comp off for a bit....or stick to this thread until the urge to get myself into trouble has passed!!

ludaloo · 22/04/2007 08:29

My sentiments exactly shouldbe

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 08:30

luda

See? - I'm feeling better already I would have been stomping round the house all day feeling fed up if it wasn't for a quick ear here Thanks

EHM · 22/04/2007 08:31

luda & shouldbe this is why I love this thread, comments just like your last few post. I just feel that in RL she wouldn't be allowed to continue & in RL I couldn't stand back & say nothing. But you are very very right, walk away...switch off...deep breath & relax

OP posts:
EHM · 22/04/2007 08:33

shouldbe glad you are [smiling] again. Enjoy your Sunday & the sunshine
