Evening all

Home from work and have collected dd's fantastic birthday present , fed the kids and was going to give them a bath - however, as I was running the bath I showed the kids the video Luda linked to earlier (Happy Hippo) and let them dance to it...then stopped the water for one last dance...which became three last dances...and all the time, unknown to me the very deep Saturday night treat bath was slowly empting itself out again cos I hadn't put the plug in quite right !!! Ended up going into the bathroom to get them into an empty bath...so they've had a shower instead!
The kids loved the hippo though Luda so thanks very much

Left my parents with the lo's while dh and I went to get dd's pressie so came home to a complete and utter bombsite which will take some time to tidy up again this eve....

shouldbe · 21/04/2007 18:49

Jelley · 21/04/2007 19:48

Hi,

I've read and got lost, but I could do a Londonish meet up if anyone else was interested....

night garden is a cbeebies programme isn't it?

I got a lie in this morning and took the kids to the farm for the day.We had a lovely day out, but came back to find dp had done nothing at all all day. Am more than a little miffed, but will wait and see if he gets his act together tomorrow before I go toatally mad.

I loke the rollon name

Grouchy was on another thread I drop in on last week. I will start stalking her, and send her back here

when is your birthday shouldbe? EHM I briefly looked at the thread you linked to, and you weren't the only one who thought she was out of order. She usually apologises when she has overstepped the line, but obly the once.
Just try and remember we are all hairy handed truckers called Dave, really

glassslipper · 21/04/2007 19:51

hi everyone. had a lovely day out to shos, then washed car and planted flowers. dd both very tired and a bitcoldy so nw in bed early....

SimplySparkling · 21/04/2007 19:54

I think the trouble is with MN is that sometimes 1) it is a wind up and some people can't wait to be the first to post in such a way as to be able to say "I thought as much ages ago. See my post of xyz time" and 2) it's not a place to be if you've had alcohol and you're not wording your posts well. I've been on MN a few years now and have seen cod help numerous people, spending hours giving advice so I know she does good. I've also seen a number of times when we've had trolls and pleas for help which weren't genuine. It is such a hard call. Say "I think this is lav up to her old tricks" and some people will nod in agreement but won't post, if they do it's sometimes called a witchhunt, say nothing and innocent, genuine newbies get sucked into giving hours of advice and sometimes practical and financial help when the cause isn't genuine at all. I'm not defending what happened on that thread at all, I'm just saying that having been on here 3 yrs or more now, some of us have seen things, had our fingers burnt and become cynical as a result. I now don't chip in when there is a financial help needed thread as one time when I did something for someone and they were supposed to pay the postage for the goods, they never did, despite me reminding them. I used to spend hours helping someone who needed help that MN couldn't give. All we did was feed her attention seeking need, making her worse. About that thread EHM, yes, cod was bang out of order and shouldn't have posted. If she thought it was a wind-up she should have left it be. Saying that, I've seen her on the receiving end of nasty comments and insensitive posts/threads herself plenty of times. It happens. It's an open forum. I don't believe for one minute that she is a nasty person. I'm glad to say that having been here through the lav, red rug, JudgeFlounce threads and others, MN is a nicer place than it used to be in that we don't have some heart wrenching attention seekers that used to post here. That is largely due to people spotting them and putting a stop to them, it has to be said. They do still come on here but oldies tend to suss them out. It also has got very big and has lost a good bit of its warmth, I think. It goes through phases. I've had to take breaks before now when it is going through a nasty phase. I personally largely stick to one or two thread and only post very briefly elsewhere. Please, don't let it put you off at all EHM. P.S. Sorry that is so long!

Jelley · 21/04/2007 20:03

Simply - Long, but worth reading. Good post

Mhamai · 21/04/2007 20:18

Tips in the door even more sheepishly than usual, hello everyone! Norty Mhamai has not been doing a lot of flying and too much time on Mn today when I should have been writing. Anyhoo will be at it (flying that is) good and proper tomorrow to atone for my sins, enjoy the rest of the evening ladies.

Jelley · 21/04/2007 20:19

One week of nice weather, and I have maggots in my wheelie bin.

shouldbe · 21/04/2007 20:41

Jelley my birthday is in the first week of May at your maggots - yuk!
Simply Great post Didn't spot your question re The Night Garden earlier - it's a new cbeebies programme that ds loves - the little characters live on the brightest star in the sky (or something...he does try to tell me...) and so ds wants to go in his dreams and visit he said again at bedtime that he'd try to go tonight and tell me about it in the morning
Mhami hello
