Cleaning thread?

Do we have a daily cleaning thread running at the moment? I used to be on one a while ago which really helped me keep on top of all the housework so I'm wondering if anybody fancies starting it up again? We used to write a list of all chores that needed doing that day then tick them off as we did them. Seeing other people being productive spurred me on to get my jobs done instead of sitting playing on my phone instead. Is anybody up for that?

The dozy sod had cooked some bacon under the grill, put the grill pan back under, closed the oven door and didn't turn the grill off so it set alight!

I've spent ages scrubbing at the (cream 😭) cupboard doors trying to get the soot off. We're going to need a new cooker, just one new cupboard door, some new plastering on a bit of the wall, possibly new flooring and a massive clean up and paint job I think. The ceiling is black!

We've only been in this house for 6 weeks too - our insurance company is going to love us...

The main thing is nobody was hurt though thankfully.

I think dh would be in the doghouse for the rest of 2017 if he did that here. The positive is it could have been a lot worse. Least you will get a new cooker and perhaps new flooring out of all this.

Yes, dh took a load of photos. The kitchen cabinets and worktops are now all clean again, just the black ceiling and walls to deal with but I'm going to leave that until I've spoken to the insurance company tomorrow.

Sounds like you've been super busy Bazzinga, you've got loads done!

All the dc are back home now so I need to sort them out and get the youngest to bed. I then plan on flaking out on the sofa and making dh wait on me hand and foot for the rest of the evening!

Woke up with horrid headache so a late start for me but feeling better now so, today's list;

Make beds - done
Sort airing cupboard - done
Wipe round kitchen - done
Empty dishwasher
1 load washing
Put clean washing away
Clean dogs water bowl
Make pasta bake for tea
Make pie for tomorrow's tea
Declutter living room
Quick hoover round
Walk dogs

Hi everyone. I've had a busy morning and am just having lunch before setting off to work. This morning I have done:

  • 2 loads of washing (will put the second load in the dryer in a minute and put another load in the washer)
  • unloaded dishwasher
  • reloaded dishwasher
  • wiped down kitchen worktops
  • finished cleaning the last bits covered in smoke
  • hoovered the kitchen and hall
  • tidied my bedroom and the 3 year old's room
  • tidied the living room
  • folded and put away all clean washing
  • ironed my work clothes
  • cleaned out cat litter

List for tonight when I get in:

  • make myself some tea and clean up afterwards
  • buy dd1's birthday card and draw cash out to put into it (she's 13 tomorrow!)
  • fold and put away any clean washing if dh hasn't got round to it.
  • bath the 3 year old - she's always filthy after nursery!
  • switch dishwasher on
  • re-load washer ready to turn on in the morning.

I think that's all that's needed for today.

13! Are you ready for her to eat you out of house and home and require a wardrobe of designer labels! I have been following the expensive teenagers thread and some of the things these kids get!

Oh I'm already in the hell that is teenage parenting - ds is 16 and a bloody nightmare! He drives me insane, eats like a horse and is never, ever full. Dd is totally different in personality though, they are polar opposites, so I'm hoping I'll have an easier ride with her. crosses fingers and toes

Crikey Kim I hope you gave him a good clip round the back of the head! Men.... honestly I do wonder what goes on their brains sometimes, I'm glad no one was hurt and that you've got insurance.
So I have been having clear outs, so far thrown out 5 bags of crap that is not needed.
I bleached the bathroom on Friday, but it already needs doing again Hmm
Still haven't done the oven Blush but I've got the weekend off of work so will aim to do it then.
Need to get the dd's dinner on and run them a bath smelly little cave children they are
Mop the kitchen floor.
Iron DP's shirt for work.

Afternoon everyone.

Well that's Ds first day at nursery done, just an hour to settle him in. Going to be very strange once they are both out for a few hours every day. I have great plans but will probably drink tea and eat biscuits whilst Mumsnetting! Wink
I managed most of my morning routine, still need to empty and reload dishwasher
Kitchen worktops and floor after dinner
Put the clean laundry away.
Bath kids

I think I'll skip today's hoovering as that's on my morning routine now.

Monday is towel change day here.
Might allocate other jobs to other days too. Does anyone else do that?

Evening! I used to be on the old thread with Kim and fresh.
Things have descended into chaos around here. Now the youngest is over 1 I really need to start sorting it out! Been a lot more productive today. Got a child free afternoon tomorrow so I plan to:
Hand washing
Wipe sides down
Cook tea for tomorrow and the night after
Dust and Hoover living room
Brush and mop downstairs floors
Hoover upstairs if I get chance
Also sort general crap
Cancel old home insurance

Morning everyone! I'm sure I posted yesterday evening but it's not here Confused

Anyway managed to get everything done yesterday. Feeling pleased with that.

Today's list

Feed all the animals
Quick dust round downstairs
Load of washing
Dig some potatoes for dinner
Walk dogs
Clear dog poo from garden
Put clean clothes away
1/2 hr work
If time tidy the desk (I'm trying to tackle one messy area per day, if not time to do the desk I'll pick something smaller)

I'm out this aft and this evening and dh is poorly today so I'll get what I can done.

wipe bathroom basin

wipe finger mark off tv Hmm
general tidy up

Need to get this done in the morning as got to take ds for speech therapy appointment this afternoon.

Morning all (waves to Will).

I had an early start as the insurance assessor guy came at 8.15 (why so early?!). All sorted now though and hopefully the clean up can start soon. It's dd1's birthday so won't be doing a huge amount of housework but I need to:

  • load dishwasher and switch on done
  • handwash non dishwasher stuff done
  • washing washer on, almost finished
  • a second load of washing
  • strip and remake girls' beds
  • clean out litter tray
  • empty dishwasher
  • bath/shower the 3 year old (she was in bed when I got back from work last night so couldn't do it then)
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • book an appt to get my eyebrows waxed.

That'll do for now, I may add more later.

Almost done now:

  • fold and put away clean washing done half, some are still damp as dh took them off the line too early so will need to go into the dryer once it's finished - quite why dh didn't do this yesterday I don't know...

So just clothes washing to finish and bathing dd to do. Dd2 is in the shower as I type so I'll get dd3 done as soon as she's finished.

So had a few extra jobs:

I'm all done now really. I've done a third load of washing which is now in the dryer and put Dh's posh jumpers in the washer on a cold wash. All the dry washing has been folded and put away, just the bed covers on the line and the clothes currently in the dryer to fold and put away later and hanging the cold wash stuff out to dry to do.

I've also put the dishes from lunch in the dishwasher and re-tidied the kitchen. McDonald's for tea (dd1's choice) so no cooking for me tonight - yay!
