A nice easy mission for me - I don't have ornaments, nd I don't buy magazines or papers!

babygrand · 27/03/2007 06:54

I don't either, but my living room is always so dusty. It's an old house and that particular room is always lovely and sunny, which shows all the flakes of dust swirling around! Think this might have to be one of my daily missions - in fact I'm going to do it right now.

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 07:12

Good Morning

Nice to know that others are up bright and early - ds was up at 5.50am insistant that it was morning ..I've had him fidgeting in my bed for the past hour.

Have LOADS I want to do today. I don't have ornaments either but do have some picture frames out so will be dusting them as I go along. Need to go and pack lunches for everyone now but will be back with a list later

staceym11 · 27/03/2007 07:49

morning!

must go get breakfast, be back later!!

glassslipper · 27/03/2007 08:46

i have 3 pictures (easy), 3 cat ornaments (easy) and a messy magazine rack (quite small so not too bad) so i'll definitely do the mission today

I'm knackered as a few early mornings are catching up with me. Off out this morning but I did quite a bit yesterday so pleased.

shouldbe - let the dust settle with your neighbour and when she has calmed down take her a household water spray. Tell her she has your permission to spray your cat if it ever gets into her house again. After a couple of goes the cat wont bother going in again, your neighbour wioll feel in control, and hopefully all will be calm.

ludaloo · 27/03/2007 09:09

Morning all {{{YAWN}}} I'm feeling a tad knackered this morning!! DD2 now has this temperature and cough, so last night was the 3rd night on the trot, I have been up for most of the night, trying to make a small child comfortable
DD1 is on the brink of it...she has a runny nose and a cough developing. So they are all at home today....OH THE JOY!!!!!

I hate it when they are ill It is really hard having three of them...they are either all ill at the same time, or even worse, they get it in turn, which eeks it out for days

I had my blood test results back yesterday...all clear and have to go to the doctors at 2pm today for my first injection. Hopefully no more Migraines (or less of them anyway)

shouldbe I would try not to worry too much, I think you have done your best to apologise. I really don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but some elderly people can get a bit difficult. We used to live next door to an elderly lady, who relied on us to help her a fair bit, but she fell out with us one day when she lost her alarm thingy the carers gave her....she was convinced I had stolen it!!!?? Her cleaner found it down the back of her bed but she had it in her head we were evil from there on in!! I don't think she meant it, she just got very confused and did it more and more to lots of people (she was 70 something)

Right well poorly people getting moany so I'd better go!

Back in a bit with a list

{{{YAWN}}}

staceym11 · 27/03/2007 09:41

oh luda hope your los get better soon!! cant imagine having 3 ill!! poor you!

right my list today looks like this:

1 load of nappies on
into tumble
sort fold put away
5 min room rescue, dd again
mission
yesterdays mission
steralise bottles
washing up
shine sink
s+s bathroom
s+s kitchen
clean windows of dd snog marks!

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 09:46

Thanks for the reassurance re my neighbour. It's very tricky cos she's a very active and forcefull 76yo with a lot of welly when it comes to falling out with people. We've always been very friendly & she's helped me out a lot - when out wm was broken and sometimes to watch the kids for 5mins while I pop to the shop. She's very independant and has lots of family locally. But after the language she used at dh and the threats she made towards the cat (she'd posion it or wring its neck ) I've lost a lot of respect for her and am more than ..there are other ways of dealing with the situation and we've tried our best to apologise and make amends as best we can. I'll be avoiding her for a bit and don't think I'll be able to be friends on the same basis again.

Anyhoo...on with my list, which is basically the whole house but I'll list the main bits anyway - if only to make me feel better when I come and put a done on it later in the day Going to concentrate on downstairs this morning...

~put toys away downstairs
~clear and clean breakfast table
~plump up sofa cushions
~s&s kitchen
~dust downstairs
~s&s cloakroom
~hoover downstairs
~mop floors downstairs
~sort through hotspots in kitchen and living room
~change beds

That'll take me most of the morning till I need to collect ds (as long as I stay off here!) May try to do some jobs upstairs after lunch....

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 09:47

Oh Luda, sorry - ranting about myself as always {{{hugs}}} for you and the 3 lo's Hope it doesn't last too long x

laloop · 27/03/2007 10:13

Hello again
Had disappeared off this thread for a few days but need to get back into routine.

Luda, sorry to hear the wee ones are ill, hope they're better soon. Hope everyone else ok, haven't had chance to read the threads I've missed unfortunately.

Back to basics today then with a list, here goes...

  • run dishwasher, empty and reload
  • wash down fronts of kitchen cupboards, worktops, stove and table
  • sweep kitchen floor and mop
  • sort out dining room (a total mess because doubles up as kids playroom/den)
  • vacuum and dust downstairs
  • tidy up hallway, wash wooden floor
  • vacuum stairs and bedrooms
  • beds made done
  • downstairs loo
  • main bathroom
  • dust bedroom furniture
  • sort through children's clothes and remove clothes that don't fit anymore
  • sort through my clothes that I don't wear anymore
  • try to recreate a pathway through the clutter in the garage so that I can reach the washing machine and tumble drier without feeling I'm on an obstacle course
  • do some exercise

DECLUTTER, DECLUTTER, DECLUTTER is my mantra today

But first, a cup of tea and a skim through MN

tortoise · 27/03/2007 10:26

Morning all.
DD1 is at pre-school all day so hope to get some bits done with DD2 following me around!

5 mins to do the mission. My front room is full of china tortoises! Will take me ages to dust them all!

Masses of washing to put away. Girls draws are nearly empty.!
And then need to get boys room tidy.

1st job will be to put washing out if i remembered to put the machine on! Lol! If not 1st job will be to put machine on!

Luda Hope DC are all better soon.
Shouldbe Have a good day. I will try not to distract you!
laloop Good to see you.

Jelley · 27/03/2007 10:28

Yaddah I hope it went ok yesterday...how are you today?

laloop welcome back. I find I let things slip if I don't repot in here every day

luda Much sympathy for three sickies. I'm lucky mine don't get ill very often. I've never had to cope with all three at once (yet)

I'm not doing a list today. I got loads done yesterday, and find it harder to motivate when it isn't obvoisly a tip. I ill set a timer and do 15 mins in each upstairs room while ds is asleep though.

OP posts:
tortoise · 27/03/2007 10:47
