A nice easy mission for me - I don't have ornaments, nd I don't buy magazines or papers!

9nut hope your ds is in a happier mood tommorrow

laloop how did your decluttering go by the way??

Right I have to go and eat something...

See you on the morrow (I sound like my dad! )

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 18:03

Aw Jelley nine and everyone thanks I actually welled up when I read your posts. Ok I just wanted to ask a big favour.

I'm part of an beginners writing group, to cut a long story short, we have been given funding to publish a book with ours and the advanced writers groups contributions, a collection of poems and stories.

Most of the work will have a local flavour and tbh, I'm stumped! I have nothing new to contribute as of yet but I did do a piece last year, well it involves housework so I thought I might ask very kindly if I could run it past you lovely ladies.

Please don't be gracious, if you think it's a pile of tosh feel free to say, I'm open to constructivw criticsm. Oh I suppose it would help to ask if you wouldn't mind me sharing it first?

ludaloo · 27/03/2007 18:36

ooooh I'd like to see it Mhamai!! ( I was going but I saw your post, and I'm intrigued!!!

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 18:40

Oh hells bells ludaloo the only problem is that I have to type it up which could take a few minutes, do you want to check it out later or tomorrow maybe? Couldn't bear you having to specially wait for my very amateur offering.

ludaloo · 27/03/2007 18:43

oh...when ever you are ready...no rush...
(Its a secret ambition of mine to write a book...I'd like to do children's books, but I soooo wouldn't have the time. Your writing sounds very exciting anyway)

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 18:55

ooohhh I'd like to see it too Mhamai

ludaloo · 27/03/2007 18:58

I'm freezing now!!! may have to light a fire... hate doing it though...

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 19:13

Ds has gone to bed with the sick bowl in tow hope he's OK...really don't think I can take anymore illness round here!

I'm running a bath to try to get warm - has been a lovely day here but has turned very cold now. Plan to have an early night (I'm still not 100% tbh - very weary)

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 20:01

I honestly want to cry! I've just spent the best part of an hour, editing and adding bits to what I was going to post and ds kicked off the modem and I lost everything!

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 20:04

Ah well

ludaloo · 27/03/2007 20:05

oh no!!!!!!!!!mhamai poor you!!!! go have a rest!!

(I hate it when something like that happens!!)

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 20:06

How the hell, when you hit the post button and you have lost connection to the web does your whole post just vanish into thin air? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Mhamai · 27/03/2007 20:10

I wouldn't mind ludaloo but I incorporated Mumsnet and fly into the now vanished redited version! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Anywho need to go and lie in a quiet corner for a bit. See all you lovely ladies tomorrow.

shouldbe · 27/03/2007 20:11

Mhamai - ds does that to me too - you have my sympathy! Whenever you are ready to re-type I'd love to have a read of your piece

Well, I've officially over-done it today and am now really, really tired and achy Will have some quick supper and head to bed I think. PIL have just called to say they are going to visit tomorrow pm so at least I have the house almost "visitor ready"

Have a good evening everyone

tortoise · 27/03/2007 20:48

Evening all. Finally all are quiet and in bed!
Have made flapjacks for lunches tomorrow. Going to really test my will power having them around calling me to eat them!

Mhamai i would love to read you piece when ready too.
Shouldbe Hope DS is ok. Have a good rest tonight you have been busy today.
Hope any other poorlies are better tomorrow.

glassslipper · 27/03/2007 21:25

Mhamai - i;d love to read it too

tortoise · 27/03/2007 21:26

Just realised i forgot to say about SW! it went fine. She spoke to DS's at school then spoke to DD1. The stories matched so she is happy with that.

tortoise · 27/03/2007 22:04

I cut up the flapjack and put it in the tub without eating a crumb. I was tempted though but am so pleased with myself for not eating any!

glitterfairy · 27/03/2007 22:36

I am really pleased tortoise. Not done much this evening but take the kids to all their after school stuff still tomorrow is another day and they were impressed by the lvingin room.
