Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

Morning all! SC sorry you've all been so poorly it sounds horrendousSad I hope you get your Christmas bits sorted but don't stress too much I'm sure people just want to spend time with you and your family and don't need perfection Flowers

Cag I agree with you I always find a tidy house inspires me to tidy more and keep it neat but as soon as one thing slips it's so easy for it all to fall apart!!

I'm trying to do a proper anti procrastination Wednesday so have done a few things I've been putting off

Ta das
Rang the doctors to make myself an appointment but actually ended up easier to ring later as they might have an appointment available this afternoon. Need to see what time dh is going to be home. Really must not put it off though.
Made appointment for ds jabs
Bought more wrapping paper
Used a voucher that had to be used this week

Nothing acheived in the house but I do feel like I have done a few of the niggly things that have been bothering me of late.

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/12/2016 13:24

7drawer chest built
Playmobil pirates thoroughly rinsed of furry caprisunXmas Blushjust need antibac wipe all the tudfly arse bits n put away(sighs n swears oversee all tidying to ensure doesn't happen again but as not first time probably won't be the last)
Man from council here.he securing remnants of back gate so no one can get round back my house til s new gate can be fitted.this will mean zoolets can't get bikes out shed(no way could negate bikes through house to get them out at mo)but least stop odd dru k men go round and bang on door at stupid o'clock scaring the be Jesus out if me

Muppetslikecoco · 14/12/2016 14:12

Zoo I don't know if it would work for playmobile but my duplo always goes in the washing machine if it's gunky.

Ta da,
We made it to baby group
Light switches and handles have been cleaned downstairs
Laundry has most been put away
Tightened door handle
Wiped down some of the doors
Table washed and polished
Cleaned the kitchen floor

To do
Wash up
Tidy the toys
Vacuum living room

foxessocks · 14/12/2016 15:11

Ta das
Made my doctor appointment for later today (I hate going to the doctors hence putting it off, it's only a small ailment but one that may be a symptom of something more serious and it is just making me anxious so best I get it dealt with so I can stop dwelling on it!)
Dishwasher emptied and loaded again
Washing folded
Living room tidied
Rubbish out to bin

Was going to put more washing on back the washing machine made a horrible noise last night so dh needs to take a look at it first. Also all the clothes that were in there have weird black marks on them now Confused we constantly have trouble with this washing machine it does my head in.

Feeling a bit lazy now as ds is asleep on me and dd playing quietly with her duplo. I want to get more done as I've done quite well at working through my niggly list today!

Gowgirl · 14/12/2016 15:21

Bugger, knew I shouldn't have clicked, off to empty washing machine....

Cagliostro · 14/12/2016 15:40

Well half our stressy busy day is done! I will be glad when bedtime arrives today. Not got too much housework planned as so much energy is going on just getting to and fro. But need to stick a wash on when we get in (before leaving again).

PurpleDaisies · 14/12/2016 16:01

Well I'm having a day I'd rather not have again. I had all sorts planned and then the car wouldn't start. The AA came and took me to a garage so I won't have a car for at least four days and it's costing an arm and a leg to fix. I really don't need this just before Christmas. I could cry with frustration.

I should be doing useful stuff but I'm sitting on the sofa with box sets.

Muppetslikecoco · 14/12/2016 16:44

Purple Chocolate** that's sucks. Don't begrudge yourself some time on the sofa.

I wrapped the presents! In the spirit of anti procrastination day. I couldn't even find any tape so they're done with string but I think they looks quite quaint anyway.

celeste84 · 14/12/2016 17:06

Yes Purple cars have a nasty habit of breaking down and bringing unexpected costs at the wrong times. White goods like washing machines and fridges also have a similar mentality i find! I hope the repairs are not too bad.

I have really achieved little today. Went to my Mum's earlier and then got side tracked with this that and everything [rolls eyes]

my ta das

washed dishes
made beds

Thats it! I might have a quick blitz whilst tea is on.

celeste84 · 14/12/2016 17:07

I keep thinking its Thursday today for some reason too which doesn't help Confused

Cagliostro · 14/12/2016 19:15

Thanks for kind words re: dh Foxes and Cag! He is much better thanks but is recovering much more slowly than the rest of us because he won't stop working! The doctor has told him he has to have a full fortnight off at Christmas heres hoping he takes note.

I on the other hand, did nothing at all while I was ill, so I have recovered almost completely thank heavens. Managed to get through quite a bit today and broke the back of the UK Christmas parcels! I always forget how long parcels take to wrap and prep and address though! Four parcels took nearly 3 hrs! But at least they are done! Yay! Only trouble is, my back is now playing up. If it's not one thing it's another. But at least I have some energy back; had nearly forgotten what it felt like! Grin

Sweepingchange · 15/12/2016 10:24

Morning everyone! Bit of a slow one here... .

Thanks Toostressy Roles are reversed and I am feeling totally crumped this morning whereas dh is feeling better and is back to his usual self, dashing about. I wish he would go a bit easier on himself though.

All I've done so far is fed animals, had a bath, cleared up from last night's supper, shined sink etc, emptied dw, and put on some washing.

There is so much Christmas stuff to be done that I can't afford to take another day resting but I feel pretty wretched tbh. So I am going to write Christmas cards this morning and try and recover for more active stuff this afternoon.

Hope everyone else is OK.

PurpleDaisies · 15/12/2016 10:35

I'm still without my car and since we're quite rural that means a day at home. I'm pretty fed up. It just feels like a losing battle here sometimes. There's stuff everywhere and I've got horrible period pain without even any nice food to cheer me up. All I've done so far is unload the dishwasher.

I'm giving myself until 11am to feel sorry for myself then ten minute tidy in the living room, kitchen and bedroom.

To dos
Finish Christmas cards
Post office
Internet Christmas shopping (bloody car)
Paint skirting boards in porch (at least the end is in sight there)
Chase up furniture delivery date
Order bedside tables

How early is too early for gin?

Muppetslikecoco · 15/12/2016 10:52

SC I've just realised that DW is dishwasher not Dear Wife. It was making some of your posts seem a bit ConfusedGrin. I hope you're feeling better soon.

PurpleDaisies · 15/12/2016 10:52

Grin muppets

Sweepingchange · 15/12/2016 12:36

Grin Muppets I sometimes wish I had a wife actually particularly at weekends the dh is destroying the kitchen

Sweepingchange · 15/12/2016 12:41

Argh "when" dh is ...

Although that is probably a v sexist thing to say.

Poor you Purple sorry you are feeling rotten Flowers

Gowgirl · 15/12/2016 14:57

My admittedly small bathroom has never been so clean also sorted the airing cupboard.
Hovered two stories and one set of stairs -had to stop as dh working from home (on a call)
Cleaned out budgie and rabbit (dd let them both out while I was cleaning the bathroom so it seemed a good idea)
Realised budgie makes a great tree decoration Grin
What is with the sink business?

Muppetslikecoco · 15/12/2016 15:21

I'm giving myself a bit of a break today. I haven't done any of the decluttering or zone cleaning but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. My minimum goal for every day is one load of washing and a clean sink before bed.
