Slugs in my kitchen at night!

Please help Confused

Last little while when I've came downstairs in the night to get a bottle for my daughter and there's been at least 2 or 3 slugs slithering about my floor. Leaving disgusting slime trails. Have disposed of them but no idea how to get rid of them? No idea how they are getting in either.

I live in a housing association house, not sure if they would be liable for getting rid of the little sh*ts or me?

Can anyone help?

They are such little shits!

It's really common in old terraced houses. I blow salt through any gaps in the skirting etc with the hairdryer.

mummytofourbabys · 25/07/2016 10:09

That's a good idea, couldn't think of a way to get the salt in behind the skirtings without making a huge mess

We have sliding doors coming off the living room onto the back garden so I think they're coming through there. I came downstairs again about an hour after cleaning the slugs up last night and there were loads iny living room and kitchen again!

Decided (after cleaning them away) to put salt around the sliding doors. Came downstairs this morning to slug soup. It was awful, it made me heave.

Does it have to be a particular type of beer? We got given one of those round the world sets of different bottles of beer at Christmas, could finally have an excuse to open them

Slug soup Grin

ShelaghTurner · 25/07/2016 12:19

Welcome to my world. We've had them since the new year and cannot get rid no matter what we try. It's at the point where we hardly notice the little bastards anymore. But I can't bear it, I wont go downstairs between 10pm and 6am in case I see them and vomit. Even had one of the little fuckers in my brand new (to me) car a couple of weeks back. Cuntpuffins. 😡

Beedoo123 · 25/07/2016 12:29

We had the same... Salt got rid of ours!

I got my man to pull off all the kick boards and put a gallon of salt behind them so hopefully my kitchen is slug free tonight.
Had a look outside too last night and only place I could see that they might get in is an air brick, was a few of them slithering up the wall beside it Angry
Filthy little fu**ers

We have slugs in our kitchen too. It makes me want to take a flamethrower to it. I read that you should bleach or steam clean your floors as the slugs follow their trails like tram tracks Envy

mummytofourbabys · 25/07/2016 19:55

Stormina I read that too, bleach my floors every morning but doesn't stop the little blighters Confused

Flamethrower Grin this should be in classics

WaitrosePigeon · 25/07/2016 20:20

How is the slug situation today mummy

WaitrosePigeon · 25/07/2016 20:20

I will try the beer also

mummytofourbabys · 25/07/2016 20:23

There was none during the night last night, that I saw anyway, for the first time in a while, and that was just with putting salt outside the house, but my man put more under the kick boards today, so just hope the salt lasts and keeps them at bay..was great not having to clean slug trails this morning.

WaitrosePigeon · 25/07/2016 20:25

Oh good.

I've had no more either. Maybe the salt is the trick?
