Slugs in my kitchen at night!

Please help

Last little while when I've came downstairs in the night to get a bottle for my daughter and there's been at least 2 or 3 slugs slithering about my floor. Leaving disgusting slime trails. Have disposed of them but no idea how to get rid of them? No idea how they are getting in either.

I live in a housing association house, not sure if they would be liable for getting rid of the little sh*ts or me?

Can anyone help?

Anyone?? Aside from setting my house on fire-a joke obviously- I have no idea what to do?

Do you have any cats or dogs? My suggestion would be bad for them. And dd if she is crawling

We had this problem in a previous house, it happened after we removed the front step when getting the garden renovated.

I did a bit of reading and bought copper tape from eBay but it didn't so much. In the end my husband got sealant stuff and filled every tiny hole around the door inside and out and that sorted it.

They are coming in from outside. They can crawl through tiny gaps. We had them in our bathroom. I put slug pellets all around the outside of our house, where the house meets the floor if you see what I mean and instantly no more slugs in the house and a couple of dead ones outside each morning.

I had them coming into my conservatory at night. I put a line of cheap cheap table salt around the edge of the walls. Never saw one again. I still have no idea how they were getting in.

I have a dog..dd isn't crawling though..only thing I can think is that their getting in under the kick boards in the kitchen as there is a small gap there..but also have a tumble dryer vent leading outside, could it be there too?

I had a problem with these bastarding things. Last week I went down for a drink about 2am, there were about 3 of them, all sliming over my dogs food and bed. I had never caught them before.

I poured salt on them. Yes, I murdered them.

There's been no slugs since...

Made me giggle waitrose haha.

Will the sort keep them away long term though? Or is that just a short term solution?

My guess would be that you have a leak somewhere - slugs are attracted to damp places.

They can get in through the tiniest of gaps so air bricks, gaps in the mortar even gaps around doors and windows which you wouldn't think they would fit through. You will have a hard time blocking all the possible gaps so much better to have a line of pellets. Would you be able to block off the area next to the bottom of the wall outside for a bit so you can put pellets down without the dog getting at them?

Put the salt/pellets outside rather than inside less messy and stops them getting in in the first place.

Yeah possibly, the dog doesn't get out in that garden really. But the kids play there, long as they were to keep away from the pellets it would be OK wouldn't it?

Be careful with a dog. Slugs can give dogs lungworm if they eat them.

As for getting rid, take off the kick boards and look behind them. Throw slug pellets behind there and put kick boards back on. If you do see holes leading outside, get them filled with expanding foam filler.

As long as the kids are old enough to be trusted not to touch it will be fine. I don't know who would be responsible but don't block up any air bricks. You are supposed to have ventilation into the house otherwise you get a whole loads of other problems.

I'll phone my housing in the morning, see what they say. Hoping they will deal with it, as it's all making me feel a bit

We live in an old house and have had problems with slugs before, we tried to find the entrance and chucked a load of salt down, it did stop them!

I'm not sure long term. I think it was just this particular slug family that were popping in every night. Well they fucking won't be anymore will they!!!!

Salt does work... so does beer!

I've just come downstairs to get a drink and found 21 slugs on my living room floor. It's disgusting.
