Morning ladies

I have just read over the end of yesterdays thread...
shouldbe I hope you are feeling better today, I'm sorry I missed your posts yesterday. I know you probably have lots of people to chat to, but if you want, my address is ludaloo at lycos dot com, I'm always around if you fancy a moan or a chat, we all get like that at times xxx

I have no plans for today apart from the odd bit of washing. Dd1 has a party to go to tommorrow so I need to get organised for that too.

Have a good day everyone

Morning ludaloo am not going to do my list yet as am in a rush (yes on mn I know) as DD is in a football match this morning. I have never been a mum supporter and was thinking of doing a thread in chat on what I should yell from the sidelines!

grouchyoscar · 20/01/2007 08:05

Morning Ladies

I've decided to touch up the paint in the bathroom and ds's room while there out today. I'm also going to refit the loo roll holder as it's coming loose from the wall and Rapid Repair dries out and looks like used chewing gum after a bit. Plus I get to play with my cordless drill (brumbrum)

Shouldbe sweetie, hope your feeling cheerier today. I know what you mean about the dark days, I get many myself. Your right, they do pass and it is good to be able to let people know when they happen. Hugs and a super Cyber Grouchy BLT to you.

Well this morning as DS has invaded my bed space I got up (not dressed mind, still in dressing gown) and so far

Washed
DS washed
Bathroom slooshed and swiped
Take laundry downstairs and sort
Load WM and run 2 loads to do
Load DW and turn on
Clean kitchen (DH is a fab cook but hell he is messy)
Clean hob
Put rubbish out
Tidy front room
Check eBay (12 hrs to go)

Have cuppa

Right, off to regain my rightful place in bed

See you soon...toodle loo

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 08:33

glitter Have fun at football! I'd just "Whoop" a lot and shout at the ref a bit(I'm sure you'll fit in fine then!)

grouchy I'm a bit lethal with a cordless drill! I was drilling a hole for a wrall plug so I could hang a piece of pottery up my dd1 had painted.....was very pleased with myself! It looked lovely and was very sturdy....dh walked in and looked horrified...an inch to the right and I'd have drilled through the water heater cable

hi - not posted for a few days as been back at work full time so hopefully will be able to get on track this weekend:

Do washing
Tidy away clean laundry
wipe bathoom down
sort out tonight's dinner
change bedding

may take it a wee bit slowly ...

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 08:37

Hi Taylormama how is work going? Were you working before you went back full time?? I bet you are exhausted!?

OP posts:
ludaloo · 20/01/2007 08:46

Oh...I nearly forgot! shouldbe thanks for letting me know about the roadshow in Lampeter....I have two Dr Who fans! Next weekend my SIL is comming to stay with her Ds...who is 5 like my dd1...he would love that too. SIL is bringing my other SIL's two Ds...aged 4 and 7 so that might be great to keep them all occupied!!!!!!
We saw the BBC stand at The Royal Welsh Show last summer...they had a big dalek which spoke to everyone...and some remote controlled daleks the kids could have a go on. There were lots of free posters and stuff too.

Hello to all.

Today's list:-
~ put washing on 2nd load on
~ put washing on line 1st load on
~ unload and reload d/w done
~ get showered and dressed
~ write letter to Boden and post parcel
~ sent the last of the thankyou notes ( I keep neglecting this one!)
~ iron clothes for dh by this afternoon
~ put shredded stuff in composter done
~ walk the dog
~ put new towels in airing cupboard and sort out tatty ones
~ find item to be returned to Cotswold
~ find receipt for faulty item to be returned to Hawkshead

I think that is enough.

glitterfairy Ds' match has been called off again. He is most miffed. When at matches I try, and fail, to know which way my son's team is trying to score, what the current score is and to whom. Inevitably, I fail. Ho hum.

taylormama Working full time is pretty tough, isn't it? I hope you have a good day.

grouchyoscar I take my hat off to you, I really do.

luda So you enjoy going to the Royal Welsh Show, too? It must be hard work for you with the little ones. Mine are now so big I can even say "Meet you at x in an hour" and let them go around by themselves! We do all have mobiles but, even so, eeek! Mind, dd stays with me. Ds is happy to spend time at the sports place, joining in with whatever is on offer.

Off to get showered. See you later.

taylormama · 20/01/2007 09:48

ludaloo - i was working full time before i had DS (who is 7.5 months). Went back to work on 1 December and made redundant ... so back to work to new job this Monday - yep i am exhausted LOL!! It will settle down i am sure ... if my house is organised i feel so much better tho' ....

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 11:32

taylormama I think I'd be exhausted too...I forget how tiring work is, being a SAHM is tiring enough! You are working full time and of course...you never stop being a fulltime mum!!!!! Well I take my hat of to you!!!!!

ivor you have a long list today!!
I went to the royal welsh for the first time last year. I went with a friend from uni, she lives near Bala, and we took the kids. She has a little boy, he was about 6 months at the time. The hardest part was trying to keep out the sun! It was absolutely boiling!!!!! I burned my neck, but the kids hat hats on and lots of sun block so they were ok. We kept stopping for lots of drinks, and kind of popped in and out of the indoor bits. My friend studied on the Equine course...she is a huge horse lover...so we tried to watch as much of them in the arena as we could. Because of tiny babies and pushchairs we didn't bother with the undercover seating bit!! I can't wait for them to get older though!!!! much more relaxing I bet!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I thought I'd say hi cos I'm just starting out with flylady. I'm sick of living in a tip!

I'm doing the sink shining today, and will think about a control journal. I'm also doing a decent clean on the lounge and may start the dining room while lo's are asleep (I know this isn't following flying exactly but my downstairs has to be respectable each week as I'm a CM!)

Any tips will be fab as I'm feeling stressed already!

glitterfairy · 20/01/2007 14:34

Thank you for your top tips ludaloo and JustIvor. Unfortunately DD had told me it was indoors and it wasnt so I pulled up my car right by the pitch and jumped in and out to shout words of encouragement to her and foul and offside to the ref. Took a few hints from a footballers mum friend of mine! Still may start a thread as I obviously looked a complete amateur and want to get up to speed on match behaviour asap as DD seems quit serious about it all.

Having said that she turned up in a polka dot 50s style dress and ballet pumps and wants to be a ballerina as well as swimming in the local club!

Am off for power walking now with personal trainer. It is pouring with rain here so am worried about drowning or being blown away!

JustIvor · 20/01/2007 16:19

Hi lunavix. I don't have any tips as I don't follow FLYlady as such. I use this thread as a motivator. I don't even know what a control journal is. I might look it up later.

Glad you survived the football match glitterfairy. I usually chose to be the one taking dd to dance (indoors with a cafe) rather than ds to football (outdoors and perishing cold). Mind you, sitting around for an hour used to drive me daft to I usually took the dog for a walk instead so I was still out in the cold but at least it felt like my own choice!

luda It is very hard going in the Royal Welsh with little ones particularly when it is very hot or very wet. We've been there in most extremes of weather and it's a challenge. I love to see the horses there. They are so lovely.

Off to do more from my list. I hope to give a good update by this evening.

taylormama · 20/01/2007 16:31

thanks luda!! Anyway i am feeling virtuous as my sink is shiny and all my chores are done ... taps are cleaned as well.
Hope everyone has had a good day ... am treating myself to a large glass of wine very shortly!

JustIvor · 20/01/2007 16:39

taylormama A large glass of wine! Are you in the UK? If so, it's not 5 o'clock yet!

grouchyoscar · 20/01/2007 16:46

Hello again all

Well after my last post I went upstairs with breakfast for Ds and Dh then

Get dressed
Dress DS
Empty WM
Got to DS and DH's dad's group (I'm an honorary bloke) Do the coffees and washing up
Off to collect rings - wedding ring fine but they dislodged a stone out of my engagement ring so I get that back next week
Tesco (help) DH in foul mood Ds adorable and eats his way through a baton (again)
Home and put away
Get DS ready for MIL
Boys off so I head down the cellar for drill and box of bits and tubs of paint
As I'm in the cellar, do the cat litter and cart it to bin outside
Tools etc up 2 floors
Touch up Ds's wall where he rubbed his Flying Scotsman across it

Tackle wonky loo roll holder - never straight forwards when you DIY (destroy it yourself) as removing it removes clumps of plaster, back to cellar for filler - Drill new holes (perfect if I say so myself) fill missing plaster, brush with water so it's super smooth, paint new plaster, screw loo roll holder on and paint the chipped stuff I set out to do

Tidy it all away to the cellar 2 floors down - DS must never know about mummy's cordless tool stash

Swipe and sloosh bathroom
Empty WM (3rd load today)
Hang wet stuff to dry
Clean up after our elderly incontinent cats with the steam cleaner
Steam cleaner back to cellar
Vac downstairs
Swipe and sloosh kitchen again

D'ya think I can stop now? Sad thing is I know no one will notice what I've done. So I'm stuffing myself with choccy biccies and tea and having MN time. I defy people to think I do nothing as a SAHM.

Well to do next is
DS tea
Ds time
DS ready for bed

Pop back soon. I will have tomorrow off

tortoise · 20/01/2007 17:40

Hi all.
Ive had a fab afternoon! Feel shattered now though!!
We all went for a long walk across the fields! Slshing through mud and puddles in our wellies. Climbing mud hills and collecting stones! DD1 ended up nearly sitting in a big puddle when DS1 wobbled into her.He caught her but she got rather wet. It was great fun. Will put some pics up later.

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

tortoise · 20/01/2007 18:41

Wow its soo quiet here! DS's gone back to their Dads and DD's both asleep by 6pm! DD2 was falling asleep on me and then i looked at DD1 and she was asleep on the floor!

Have sorted pics if anyone wants a look.
here!

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 19:02

hi all xxxx

I have been very good and forced myself to do house work this afternoon!!!!
I have:
~Done dishwasher twice
~Done 4 loads of washing
~Changed beds and turned the mattresses
~Tidied every room
~Washed cats new bowls and tray out...eeewww
~Hoovered (upstairs to do tommorrow)
~Made supper
~Tidied it all up
~Went to my friends for a few hours
~Lit a fire
~And finally put 5 piles of clean clothes away (HURAHH!!!!)

My kids are very whingy they are wearing me out! Dd2 toppled over getting up a step on my friends path and has a huge graze and is beginning to bruise..all across her cheek and eye She is teething and is generally very miserable!!!
Ds is being a pain...wiggling his bum at dd1 who is trying to colour and is getting cross!!!!

I have hardly seen my dh for nearly 4 days..he came home at 11 ish last night and the night before...I was in bed by then! He has been up and out by 8 am. I'm beginning to feel like I am a single mum!!! And feeling the strain!

grouchy your lists are always so big! You do a fantastic job!!!!!!!

lunavix hello! you sound like you are on the right track! little bits at a time all add up I have no idea about a control journal...I don't do one.

glitter glad the match went ok!!!!!!

taylormama A glass of wine is well deserved in my opinion

ivor hope you got through your list.

tort fantastic afternoon by the sounds of it! Nothing better than a goos walk and a good mud sloshing session! I'm glad everyone had a good time.

Lol @ bum wiggling! Both my DD's do that!

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 19:09

Oh what lovely pics!!! You all look like you were having a fab time!!! I think it would have been too cold today where we are for messing about in the stream....I will take your idea up if the weather gets a bit warmer!!!!
Your dd's must have been completely worn out! ........hmmmmmmmmm...maybe I could brave the cold!!! I'd love mine to be so sleepy they fall asleep on their own!!....and by 6 pm

OP posts:
JustIvor · 20/01/2007 19:58

grouchyoscar My admiration for you grows even greater! Well done! If your abilities rub off onto your children, they sound like the sorts of DILs/SILs (sorry, I haven't been paying sufficient attention to know which) I'd like to have!

This is a quick post as I'm tired.

luda My dh is away a lot atm as well. He bought me a plant today as a gesture. He knows I'm keeping the home going by myself whilst he is away. Still, in 4 weeks it will be half term and we'll be away together for a week, the 4 of us.

I've done a good bit today including extra tasks. Left to do tomorrow is:-
~ send the last of the thankyou notes ( I keep neglecting this one!)
~ ironing
~ walk the dog
~ put new towels in airing cupboard and sort out tatty ones
~ find item to be returned to Cotswold
~ find receipt for faulty item to be returned to Hawkshead
I think I'll keep it at that, plus the essentials such as the kitchen.

ludaloo · 21/01/2007 08:06

Good Morning

I have a day of tidying little bits today. Have hunted down two loads of towels and teatowels to wash....its amazing where towels end up! Under the cot...under ds bed, they get draped over the edge of the bannister, and the edge of the bath, the radiator in our bedroom.....I'm over run with them!!! Teatowels are no better...I wander around with one...put it down then can't find it...so I get another one out! Before you know it there is a collection of half used teatowels!!!

So Far:
~1 load of towels already in w/m
~dishwasher on
~kids fed

To Do:
~Fold a load of washing from t/d
~Ironing (will do that while I watch Eatenders later)
~Wrap pressie for Dd1 to take to party
~Take Dd1 to party!
~Hotspots need doing in Kitchen and Living Room
~Hoover upstairs (didn't get round to it yesterday
~Good Dust (if I have time)

I think thats about it. Dh is working again today so I don't think I'll be going far....will need to get more coal....and some electric tokens at some stage...oh and some bread.

Have a good day all xxxx

ludaloo · 21/01/2007 08:09
