Morning ladies

I have just read over the end of yesterdays thread...
shouldbe I hope you are feeling better today, I'm sorry I missed your posts yesterday. I know you probably have lots of people to chat to, but if you want, my address is ludaloo at lycos dot com, I'm always around if you fancy a moan or a chat, we all get like that at times xxx

I have no plans for today apart from the odd bit of washing. Dd1 has a party to go to tommorrow so I need to get organised for that too.

Have a good day everyone

glitterfairy · 21/01/2007 08:33

Morning everyone. I am up and drinking coffee and have updated my diary and calendar so far. I am going to put away stuff from the move today as I came up with bright ways to store them whilst lying in bed this morning.

Todays list:

Washing
Putting away odds and sods like cables
Putting away all bedding
Ordering exercise mats on Argos
Shopping and meal planning for week
Taking kids to ballet class
Work
Writing thank you notes
Photos again

ludaloo · 21/01/2007 08:33

Morning Ivor Hope you had a good sleep....you said you were tired yesterday so take it easy today

I'm going to light the fire...I bought the wrong coal so it burns too quickly and keeps going out! I'll have to go and get the right stuff later. Doh!!!!
I'll nip over the shop when dh gets up then get these little ones dressed!

Bye For Now xx

LOL ludaloo one is to throwq things away if they havent been used in over a year. I have got very good at that and have discovered an online group called freecycle who will take things and use them which you no longer want. Sometimes charity shops are not the answer.

I have lots of boxes and tend to be fairly methodical about what is in each. We have a drawer in the kitchen though called the "drawer of no meaning" where things go that we dont know where to put such as tape for parcels, my hammer and screwdriver and various small bits from things such as the bike rack for the car which has a couple of small velcro straps which I never use but dont knwo if I might. I love the holding company and have used some of their ideas and things for storage. I now also have proper jars in my kitchen for things like pasta and sugar and rice.

ludaloo · 21/01/2007 08:58

Oh I have heard of Freecycle but never really looked into it. I might have a look later. We alsp have a draw like your in our kitchen, we call it the Junk draw! It is getting a bit too Junky though TBH! Needs sorting through but I can never find the oomph to do it!

I like the idea of jars for the kitchen, I have tea, coffee and sugar tins but would like some containers for things like Flour and cooking ingredients....my cupboards are so messy!....I have recently bought tupperware containers for cereals, these have been brilliant, they are much neater than the cardboard boxes and the cereals keep much fresher.

I've never heard of the holding company either! I might have to investigate that too!!! Are they online?

Thanks for that!

morning all - had a bit more than a glass of wine last night and feel a tad delicate this morning. However, have changed our bed and flipped the mattress over which i have been meaning to do for ages and and hoovered the bed base - yuck! So nice clean bed for me and DH tonight.
Have another load of laundry ready to go, have put yesterdays clean stuff away, unloaded dishwasher and just ready to sort out DS's bottles .... hope everyone has a lovely day.

Lazylou · 21/01/2007 09:22

Morning everyone!

Once again, I apologise that I haven't been around for a whole week , but the work/uni thing continues to take over my life!!!

Well, that and a family emergency yesterday, but all that seems to be sorted now!

I have a feeling that I will only be able to join in over the weekend what with work/uni stuff going on .

So the plan for today is:

to sort out the kitchen (as always) as well as the bathroom. There isn't much to do really as I did the entire house last Sunday and having been at work all week, nothing has really been touched. Just the washing that needs sorting as well as kitchen and bathroom.

Having a sneaky bit of MN time now as well as doing some coursework whilst DH and DD are still in bed, but then I shall get going when they get up (that will please them lol).

Obviously I haven't had a proper chance to catch up on a week's worth of FLY threads so I hope evryone is ok. Will be back later for a chat!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 21/01/2007 09:52

Good morning everyone

Just dropping in very quickly to say hi but need to dash so won't hang about just now...

Thanks for all the kindness after my bad time on Friday eve - yesterday wasn't great but today feels a little better so far
Dh has just taken the lo's to his parents for the day so I can have some time to myself - not sure if that's a good thing or not (time to think...good or bad?) but hey ho...
Have lots of jobs I can get on with as the house is empty so am going to really try to get the place up to speed again - it's really built up these last few days. Also want to finally try to sort some paperwork but am not sure I can face it on my own (it's really, really, really bad)

Off to do supermarket shop once I've cleared the breakfast table and made the beds - oh the bliss of going alone

See you later x x x

tortoise · 21/01/2007 10:10

I have loads to do today. Got specialist dr coming to speak to me and dc tomorrow. So i need to clean the whole house! I don't know if he will want to speak to dc on their own or not so might go upstairs!

So 1st job is clean whole bathroom.

Will report back when done.

glitterfairy · 21/01/2007 10:27

ludaloo the holding company is online at here

Hope this works as it doesnt seem quite right. There is a sale on at the moment which is how I get most of my stuff as it can be expensive.

Good luck, am off to Argos for the first time ever for exercis mats for the two eldest for their ballet and an airbed for when friends come to stay. Have done the following though:

Washing x1
Putting away and folding drying x2
One box of leads and plugs stored

lazylou you really do sound busy! Weekends are a good time to catch up but make sure you don't over do it! (hope the crisis wasn't too bad!!)

TAYLORMAMA....OH TAYLORMAMA !!!! Oh sorry...didn't mean to shout!
Hope your head recovers soon (coke is supposed to be good for hangovers...lots of sugar and caffeine)

Tort Good luck with the doctor! Does this mean you are busy all day??? Can I not tempt you with a small go on ISketch??????? Maybe a bit later on??????? sorry that is not a good plan is it!

ludaloo I will isketch later.Maybe while eating lunch for a half hour break!

Made a start on bathroom and put td on. Took washing out of machine from yesterday and DD1's trousers are still very muddy! DD2's went in the bin as they were too stained. Have given DD1's a good soak in vanish and scrubbed them. They are now in with another wash load. Need them to come clean as DD1 only has a few pairs that fit.

Forgot to say i spoke to HN on MSN Friday i think. She couldn't get MN pages to load. And saw her trying to log in to MSN last night but kept going offline again.

Right back to the bathroom!

tortoise · 21/01/2007 10:56

shouldbedoingthehousework · 21/01/2007 14:37

So, I've been to the supermarket (which was lovely - and the trolley was so light without ds riding in it!)

I've decided against the paperwork - thanks luda sensible voice from you - it is too much to cope with and will get me down if I don't manage it. I'm going to wait and dh can help. We bought new office drawers to file papers in but they're in the living room at the moment and really need to be somewhere else so I may just clear some room for them upstairs and then I can perhaps use the spare bed to lay papers out in correct piles/drawers - that way the job can be dipped into during the evenings when dh is at home.

I've just done a load of hand-washing, there have been several items at the bottom of my laundry basket for ages so I'm pleased to have got them out of the way (and will be pleased to be able to wear them again too ) Next door's wm is working hard for me too.

Now I need to do the rounds, putting away and cleaning up. I'm going to put a CD on and work my way round the house.

if you see me on isketch - send me away!

ludaloo · 21/01/2007 14:49

grouchyoscar · 21/01/2007 15:35

Afternoon All

Well I'm getting my day off I suppose. I got out of bed at 9 (well, DS caught up with me on a trip to the loo to inform me that 'I have some poo in my nappy' which turned out to be that and a night time leak so

Shower DS
Strip his bed off
Tidy his room (find missing library book yay)
Swipe and sloosh loo
Swipe and sloosh bathroom

Go back to bed with DS in tow

Up at 9
Tidy bedroom
Strip bed
Remake bed
Sort laundry into colour/white loads (where does it come from? I did 3 loads yesterday!)
Load WM
Empty DW
Put away
Start DW reload
Swipe and sloosh kitchen
Swipe and sloosh hob
Shine sink
Help DH fit replacement light switch
Ironing
Empty WM and put on load 2
Take wet washing to be put to dry (horror...No room to hang)
Tidy front room
Vac downstairs
Sort out diary
Organise loose change for DS
Remake DS's bed

Then just sit down and work out what to do with seville oranges other than marmalade. DS in DH's office so just wonderful me time I've got to prepare for tomorrow's course and soak some beans for soup making.

Cracking list [luda] btw
Glad you're feeling better [shouldbe]

So Ladies, what's for dinner?
