Debt Free 2007 thread

Come and join us to share tips tortoise.
I got a tin like that from a pound shop with a picture of a dolphin on it. The slot is so tight that £1 coins only just go in, so I won't be able to use a knife to get them out again.
It's got £5 in it so far....

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2006 18:02

I'm not good enough to share tips! I owe far to much at the moment and CAB said might be best to go bankrupt!
I'm putting that to the back of my mind until after xmas!!

I will buy a tin or two though! I know they did have them on Ebay once but i couldn't find one. Its easier for me to use the little i have in paypal!

satinshoes · 21/12/2006 19:01

Oh WOW. I weighed myself today and I am my pre-pregnancy weight. I only put on about 1 1/4 stone this time (as opposed to nearly 3 with DD1) but I never imagined I'd have lost it all so soon.

It means I am back into all my 'nice' clothes already so i wont feel compelled to gets loads of new stuff in the jan sales

Havent read the thread as a bit busy but hello everyone. Had to share my excitement...

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2006 19:04

Soooooooooooo............

Its well done all for being very busy today.

Never mind to those who have not done much, we all have days like this.

Hugs to anyone not feeling to good, colds, coughs, sick bugs, etc. Lets hope they are all gone by Xmas day. {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}

The Virtual Champagne is on tortoise by the looks of things

Not much FLYing done in the HN house today.
I have been playing/making/etc with DC. DS1 has been very hyper today so had to watch him as he tends to pick on DS2 when hes like he is today.
tort he stayed asleep until 8am!!
Just a shame I was awake from 5:30 though

Dc are watching the TV ATM, I`m going to finish off the kitchen in a mo, then get then to bed. Hoping that DS1 will stay asleep until 8am again tomorrow.

I will be back in a while.

As long as you are eating properly satin then that's great!

Not done list:-

  • spend at least 4 hours ironing to try to get the pile down from hip height
  • walk the dog once the delivery person has been - dh is going to do this now
  • ring a friend (not luda, another one, who has been without a car for a week or so) to see if she needs a lift somewhere - delivery person didn't come so not done

I did the rest plus some more so not bad overall.

shouldbedeckingthehalls · 21/12/2006 20:51

Bbbbrrrr, just back from carol singing - freezing but lots of fun and very Christmassy in the dark, cold and fog - quite Dickensian iukwim! Dd has gone straight to bed and hopefully will soon be asleep. The friends who are coming for lunch tomorrow have both phoned while we were out, one has cancelled cos her dd's are sick and the other has offered to bring lunch for us all with her which will be lovely

well done satin as Ivor says, as long as you're looking after yourself that's excellent - and not something I've achieved even 3 years after ds's birth

I may look at that debt free 2007 thread jelley as it'd be great to just get some tips on planning finances better. I need a spreadsheet really but have no idea how to create one!

Everyone's had good days by the looks of it - I can't believe your delivery never turned up ivor! How frustrating for you - any idea when it'll come now?

Off for some warm supper - dh is cooking ! Pasta, I expect...smells yummy (pasta not dh after last nights wind problems - see earlier today...!)

CranberryJelley · 21/12/2006 20:54

Shouldbe - Flame has one she emailed me. I could forward it to you. I can't use it as I have a mac and can't open the file, but asleep posted a link to a mac friendly one I've started using this week.

shouldbedeckingthehalls · 21/12/2006 21:16
