How do you stop the bin liner in your wheelie bin from falling in?

Is there something people do to prevent it falling in every time I throw something in. It seems to be OK as it gets fuller. MIL uses sticky tape but I wanted something quicker.

IME bin liners get out in the kitchen bin, tied when full and thrown into wheelie bin... Are you filling your wheelie bin as you would a kitchen bin?

I didn't even know you could buy wheelie bin liners. Save your self the bother and money and don't use them.

I've noticed that one of my neighbours uses some sort of big bag to line their wheelie bin. Not quite sure why, though the bottom of ours is pretty manky....which answers my question!

Haha! Surely, I can't be the only one here who uses them! I'm honestly surprised so many of you haven't come across them! They keep your bin from getting smelly and dirty and hence much easier to clean when I get round to it. They are fab! I'm a clean freak so my enthusiasm for them may be little abnormal!

I never clean my wheelie bin anyway. Ever.

Ours is cleaned once a month by some guys that follow the bin lorry round so no need for a liner. Our rubbish is in bin bags anyway

I clean the handles of my wheelie bins, the only bits I touch. I don't really see the point of cleaning the inside. All food waste goes in a food recycling bin so nothing in the black wheelie bin goes off or smelly.

Goodness. I've never heard of these! I pay a company to clean our bin once a fortnight on the day after they're emptied- it's about £4 a clean but well worth it after a thoroughly traumatic incident which ended in a bin full of maggots boak

Also.. our bins are right under our bedroom window (ground floor flat) so I will pay any money to have zero stink!

How does a wheely bin get smelly and dirty? Isn't everything you put in in a bin bag?

I pay to have mine cleaned once a fortnight as well...only mine costs £1.50.

It's the nappies that stink it out esp in the summer and we have fortnightly bin collections which doesn't help. I try to give it a quick rinse to keep it in check.

I keep meaning to call the people to come clean my bin but forget. I will call them this week. But it's not that manky, I mean it's not great but nothing gets put in the wheelie bin if it's not in a bag.
