Morning all.

No sleep for me - insomnia plus stinking cold plus baby

On a happy note we're putting the tree up later.

Have a good day all.

IvortheEngine · 02/12/2006 08:54

Hi luda. I thought that I'd be in town today because ds has footie early but dd is asleep and I didn't want to wake her on a Sat morning for no reason so I'm up, breakfasted, showered and dressed and now having a cup of tea before doing more housework. You have remembered that Llanbadarn Fawr is shut due to the roundabout roadworks today and tomorrow haven't you? The queues were back to where the mini tornado was last time they did it. Several miles of queues by lunch time. The Farmers' Market is in town today, and dh has gone to it. Must post this first and then come back to my second post.

IvortheEngine · 02/12/2006 09:03

shouldbe I hope your shopping goes well. I've barely started but am I panicky? .... ..... .... .... .... .... .... .... ..... .... .... .... .... ..... ..... ..... Yep!

Ruby For those of us that have to travel more than an hour to get to an Asda or Tesco, please can you not mention online food shopping? It pains me! Do they deliver as far as us? Do they heck! And my ILs and the rest of my family have shops within half an hour and loads of choice! Grrrrrr.

satinshoes I hope you get a chance to put up your feet and rest a bit today to make up for lack of sleep last night.

Ruby It's okay, you're forgiven.

Forgot to say, I saw a mouse yesterday on the driveway! I know how thrilled everyone on this thread is to hear me tell tales of pheasants who try to get themselves run over on the road and such, so I wanted to tell you of my first encounter with a mouse. Sorry, second. I think I saw one by the yard gate when I was very small. Anyway.....it was on the driveway and the dog went up to it. It ran to the other side, squeaking madly then changed it's mind and ran back to where it had come from, hiding in a plant, still squeaking madly! I do live a very sad life when things like this make my day, don't I?

mistletoemania · 02/12/2006 09:59

hi sort of been flying ish!! anychance of link have joined but cannot get large advertisement to close and cannot read links properly i know so could some expert flyer do link please? Does this mean i have to shine my sink now? Have decluttered a bit but so much to do? right have to get dressed and kids and take cookie dough out of fridge which has been resting over night for girls to make cookies. Then maybe brave the shops

IvortheEngine · 02/12/2006 09:59

I thought that didn't look right! Is it one-upmanship? Serves me right.

ludaloo · 02/12/2006 11:12

Haven't ventured into town yet, we have been checking out the bank balance!
Dh has had to fork out for a new starter motor, new battery, and a new alternater...only to find out the reason his car won't start is because the light in the boot has broken...it stays on constantly and drains the battery

My car is still at the garage...thats 2 weeks its been there...I am absolutely DREADING the bill!!!
Its not funny anymore [sob sob]

Thank you IVOR....you are very thoughtful! I heard the market was on....I think I'll have to get to the next one...apparently there are two this month.
Do you know I didn't even know about the new roundabouts until the other week when I went up to the industrial estate!...I think they will be a vast improvement though, especially comming from town the hospital way, the junction there if you are turning right, back toward Morrisons was a mare!!!!!! (if you know where I mean)

Ruby....thats sounds like fun!!

Shouldbe....thanks...I'm much better, just feeling slightly fuzzy from such an early morning!!

Satin...hope you are feeling a bit better xx

ludaloo · 02/12/2006 12:01

ooh Ivor..just read about your mouse encounter!
Dh has mice at his work!...they eat the bisciuts in his drawer and he found a packet of salt and vinegar crisps chewed open and nibbled!!! He reckons there must be several, he has found droppings in his tea mug too....ewwwwwwww!

I was walking kids to school the other morning and a stoat ran out in front of us! It was a funny little thing! Kept running infront of us and popping its head out!

And don't get me started on ruddy pheasants!!! They hunt me down, and run out in front of me!!!I have broken the grill on my car hitting one of them! (really don't have much luck with cars!!!!)

And IVOR...have you heard on the news about all the big cat sightings???? Well I was driving along the back roads from Lampeter, and I sware to god, a LYNX jumped out across the road in front of me!!!!!!!! It was dark, and it stopped momentarily in the headlights, then leapt up over the embankment and under the hedge!
It was definately a LYNX, I looked it up when I got home, it had the spikey fur on its ears and was light brown.
Dh heard the news, which said about 39% of people who had reported seeing a big cat had described a LYNX. The rest of reported sightings were thought to of been black panthers!
Lets hope one of those isn't found on your driveway!!!

Hello, am back from a very quick dash round the shops- got there early and was out of town by 10.30 (phew!) Spent more than I should in Gap but got some lovely bits for the kids
Called into work and ended up staying till 1pm and have just got home now. Nice suprise to find the farmer near us has put sheep in the field that we look onto- looking forward to the kids getting home to see them

Ludaloo- pheasants drive me mad here (Cotswolds) too- a right pain in the neck! Funny to think you're over near Lampeter- my brother and SIL live there we visit quite frequently...Must warm them about the Lynx though!!

Going to look through my shopping now and then make the most of an empty house. Hope everyone has a good weekend x

Quootiepie · 02/12/2006 13:50

Evening all.

I have had a good day tortoise
We went to see HNtree today. Got back later than planed though. HNtree booked us a taxi to come home. (she does not like us going on the bus after dark) She told them the ages of DC so they could have a child seat for DD. Well they sent out a taxi with no child seats at all! So we then had to wait for another taxi. They only charged us half price so we did not worry about being home late.

luda glad your head is feeling better.

shouldbe Glad your shopping went well and that was quick shopping!

satinshoes poor you with no sleep and a stinking cold. Hope you get some good sleep tonight. Glad you have your decs up now

mistletoemania Hiya. We are going to have a cake and cookie making day tomorrow. Hope your cookie are yummy

Q Nice to see you. Hope you are keeping well?

Ruby Shame about the school fare, hope the next one is better.

tortoise Your poor DC, lucky DD2 though, well maybe not with the others being poorly iykwim. I hope they are better soon. Take it DS2 went to school yesterday? although it sounds like he not great if he is still not eating much. ( he was better off with mum anyway )

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 02/12/2006 20:38

Glad you had a good day HN. Yes ds2 went to school. He is fine i think he is worrying about being sick again thats why he is not eating.
XP1 said he had a pain in tum area when he picked DS's up at 5 today.
DD1 seems ok tonight.Gone to sleep with no problems.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 02/12/2006 21:14

Glad DD went to sleep ok. Poor Ds2.

I hope your xp1 gets it, then he will know what it really feels like. Though he lives with him mum doesn't he? If yes then I suppose him mum will be looking after him.
It must be really hard talking to him when hes making your and DSs lifes hard with Christmas day
