Morning all.

Just about getting over the drama of the fleas. The mission of making my bed properly is a laugh as last night it was stripped, turned, hoovered, sprayed, bedding all hotwashed & tumble dried and remade!!!

DH sprayed everything in sight and cat was treated so think we'll be ok.

Almost hoping the stress would bring on labour but not to be.

Hope you all have a good day.

morning
my ds is toddling off to play school this morning so am gonna take my dog out for a very long walk in the rain, then come back and watch judge judy whilst cleaning my sitting room. Who said rock and roll was dead!

redheadmum · 24/11/2006 08:52

hey y'all

I was directed over here to help me get on top of housework ......what is this FLY all about?

can I ever have a reasonably tidy house????

I hope help is nigh.....

satinshoes · 24/11/2006 08:57

Hi redheadmum

Here is the flylady website and here is the starting point babysteps

Most of us dont bother with the emails as they are a bit rubbish. The idea is you do a different zone each week so gradually the house improves. Start with the babysteps. Do a bit at a time and then do the daily missions which we link to every day.

Welcome.

Morning.
I need to put the recycling out! And do some tidying up in the kitchen first then front room.

Wow snig we really do have you addicted already!

redheadmum Yes you really can have a tidy house! Depends on the age of your DC as to how long it will last!

Have a look on the FLY lady website and start with shining your sink.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 24/11/2006 09:00

I will do the mission in a bit too.

TheHighwayCod · 24/11/2006 09:21

morning all.....

Cod...you are getting soft!! you just can't keep away from this annoying thread can you!....you see you are FLYing and not even realising it...sheets on a Friday!!!!

Hello to snig

Hello to redheadmum also

I am quite sad this morning...christmas hits blaring away!
I have already made a promising start...

Cleaned fridge inside and out ( I was cultivating my own species in the bottom draw!!)

Dishwasher emptied/reloaded

Washing machine on

Tumble dryer on

Ok....I am going to confess to something now...
I kind of have a funny rota thing I do...which means I can't do todays mission today....

Monday : Mattresses
Tuesday : Tiles and Taps
Wednesday : Worktops
Thursday : Thorough dust
Friday : Fridge
Sat/Sun : Sod all!!

Just as an extra job to do along with the missions

Sad I know..but if I do todays mission today then It just won't fit in with my rota!!!!!!

ludalightsandlanterns · 24/11/2006 10:18

Actually Sat/Sun could be Shine Sink !

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 24/11/2006 10:21

luda I would like a routine like that.Doubt i would ever stick o it though! Might be my job to do later. Draw up a little rota.Might stop things getting too bad.
Recycling out
D/W on
T/D on
W/M on!
Using plenty of electric this morning!
Worktops wiped down.

Front room covered in duplo bricks.

satinshoes · 24/11/2006 10:24

Hi All

ruby how old is the littl'un? I moved DD at about 18 months as she kept getting stuck in the bars when trying to climb out. We let her 'help' make the bed (a wooden one) and kept saying what a big girl she was etc. Then EVERYTHING else was kept the same. She has/had always had her door shut and couldnt pen it at that time so no escaping - she STILL doesnt come out without calling us at 2.9 !!! Good luck.

cod you are creeping over to the dark side without even realising it

luda I have a weekly list too. A bit like the poncy home blessing but I do one job every day

Change Sheets - Mon
Polish Mirrors and Doors - Tue
Empty all trash - wed (bins collected thu)
Purge magazines - wed (bins collected thu)
Mop floors - Thu
Vacuum upstairs - Fri
Dust - throughout week
Vacuum downstairs - throughout week
Ironing - whenever

You can have my rota if you like tort....
My jobs start with the same letter as the day so I don't forget!

ludalightsandlanterns · 24/11/2006 10:30

ooohhh I'm relieved I'm not the only one with a rota satinshoes!!!!
Actually...bins is a sunday job as the binmen come on a monday...
I've only just found out about the homeblessing thing...but it is a bit much for mee to do all in one go...(and the name of it makes me want to eat my own hand!!!!)
The rota is easier to keep on top of.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 24/11/2006 10:30

Morning all. and new faces snig and redheadmum. tortoise it is very easy to be addicted to MN

bCod, I wash my sheets every-other Friday.

satinshoes I have seen some of the FLY threads start much earlier than 8:24am

The morning in the HN house was mad this morning!

DS1 was in 1 very bad mood. Talk about getting out of the wrong side of his bed. Everything was a fight with him. I was glad when he went off to school.

I had a very weird night last night. I was dreaming all different dreams. Even about fleas satinshoes

I am going to hoover the whole house now, if DD will let me.

redheadmum · 24/11/2006 10:35

so far have

put on a wash
folding dry
stacked dishwasher......

started to SHINE MY SINK......yep joined the Fly lady

spending the rest of my time doing that......

hi JARM i was wondering how you were

HN...it must be a friday thing...dd1 was in a fowl mood this morning too...moaned non stop about everything and wound ds up no end!
Hope she's in a better one this afternoon!

I'm stuck here now....dd2 has fallen asleep on my knee...bless!

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 24/11/2006 10:45

My DD2 is 2.4 and still in her cot! She can and does get out but gate at the top of the stairs stops her getting too far.
I hope to get her into a bed next year.DD1 needsw a new bigger bed 1st and of course i need money to get one!
I will think about the rota later.

ludalightsandlanterns · 24/11/2006 10:46

Ruby...you have a little escape artist there!!!!
good luck keeping her in!!

redheadmum....shiny sinks are addictive!! Once I've got mine shiny I get annoyed with even the smallest mark on it!! (dh thinks I'm potty!!!!!)

IvortheEngine · 24/11/2006 10:49

Hello all! Dh was home late and didn't have a key so I was up until 12.30am. I didn't spend too much time on MN, though. I did lots of binning and filing of e-mails which was useful. I sorted out a few papers. I got up pretty late this morning so I need to crack on and get showered and dressed.

The DW is on.
I'm going to strip all the beds now and put the washing on.
Ds and dd have homework to do I think, so they'll be hogging the PC.
I'll get those things done then I'll come back.

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/11/2006 10:50

I have a big wash basket full of washing but no WM, What will it be like by next Thursday? the new one will be working day and night!! Its not just the washing of the cloths though is it? Its trying to get it all dried and then ironed and put away. I feel so lost without my WM. and its only day 2.

I am just hoping my dream about my new WM does not come true as my dream was I kept getting told it was going to get delivered tomorrow and then seeing a sign saying "tomorrow never comes!"

I did have a rota but thats been lost over the last few weeks. I will get back to it soon though, with a small change. I was doing a room a day. I will change it to a room a week like FLYlady and just keep things like bedding, bins, floors, etc to the rota.

ludalightsandlanterns · 24/11/2006 10:57

Hi Ivor....thanks for your post ..I read through last nights...
I'll be pestering you now!....what does this mean...how does this go!!

Awww HN try and wear as much of it as you can more than once or twice??? might make the pile get bigger a bit slower!??

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/11/2006 11:01

luda.... yep DS1 was winding DS2 up. It was like he was trying to get DS2 to hit him. No matter what any of us done this am was wrong in DS1 eyes. DD just kept out of his way.

I cant do the hoovering now as DD has just gone to sleep. I wont wake her as she is a bit tired. She has not been having a sleep in the day, so I think she might just need a small nap

More coffee and sit down time for me too and day dream about winning the lotto tomorrow
