The Hoarders Anonymous Thread Part Two...Still Sorting It Out ~ Together!

Sorting out the home when you're a hoarder (big or small) is never going to be easy and we should know! but having someone else to support you, talk about it with you and make you feel much less of a freak of mother nature makes a huge difference!

If you are any of the following:
A hoarder. In a mess. Untidy. Disorganised. Lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small.

Welcome to thread number 2! :)

I'll bet it's a mixed feeling between you finally have an official dx and one of 'blast! that's a shock' Thanks my nephew has Asperger's. He's 22.

Hope everything is well.

thanks :)

Yes I feel really good, I have got used to 'being on the spectrum' over the last few years, as I kind of figured it out (thanks to MN actually... I posted after yet another social faux pas asking what the hell was wrong with me!) in 2012. So it's not entirely a shock, but I think I still need to give myself time to come to terms with it as it still needs to sink in properly. :)

fuzzpig · 06/11/2015 08:45

And thank you Polter I'd not heard about the new board but have just signed in to the big thread there.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 06/11/2015 09:17

Hopefully it will be helpful. i should ask for diagnosis, but I won't even go about the weird bruise on my boob let alone stuff like that. I'm in awe of your bravery :)

Solo · 07/11/2015 01:02

PG go to the GP about the bruise if you have no reason for it to be there please!

PG please, please go to the doc's. You can't afford not to. I don't mean to preach, but as much as it could be nothing, it might be something and your Dc's need their Mum around! don't ignore it any longer Thanks

My DH is a hoarder, he won't let me get rid of anything, we also have 6 indoor dogs , I have begged for a fenced in area outside but that's not happening. Between the clutter and dog hair everywhere and the dirt my house should be in a state of emergency. And forget any help from hubby and son, I basically have just given up.

Solo · 19/11/2015 22:57

I'm sorry for you Beyond :( It is a nightmare. Unless your Dh wants help though, I'm not sure you will be able to get out of it iyswim?
You are welcome here to let off steam, ask questions, get ideas etc if you wish...so is your Dh.

I have my days where I feel energetic enough to clean, but most days are just so overwhelming. Is it too much to want a clean home to be proud of, probably not in my lifetime

BeyondSinking777 · 20/11/2015 03:34

Thanks for letting me vent.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 22/11/2015 15:49

I think we can all empathise with the fluctuating oomph.

I'm having a frazzled head week. I want to be functional but I'm not. More coffee.

(No, not been to the GP, not enough hours in the wee :/ )

Solo · 27/11/2015 00:03

How are we doing?

OP posts:
fuzzpig · 27/11/2015 09:58

I'm not, really Blush

But did see a thread about getting rid of a carrier bag a day. I'm going to attempt it. Although as I said on that thread, I could do a binbag a day and it would still be a tip!

How are you? Feeling festive yet? Not sure that I am really.

Solo · 28/11/2015 00:35

Oh I could get rid of carrier bags! They would be empty though! Wink

No, I'm not getting anywhere either and no...I hate Christmas...

OP posts:
ProcrastinatorGeneral · 30/11/2015 00:54

I have one of those CEX drawstring bags stuffed to the brim with other carrier bags. Them there's about twenty strong reusable bags.

I need a bag cull. I might donate all the plastic ones to nursery, as they always need them. Then I might sort the reusable a out into keep and. It keep, then fill one or two every few days for the charity shop and tell them to keep the bags too.

Hmmm...

(I have problems with Christmas. Inreallybdo not like it much, I am on edge from mid-November through to the shops closing on Christmas Eve. Only then don't stop tensing my shoulder and unclench my teeth. Horrible horrible horrible.)

Solo · 01/12/2015 01:12

Oh God! You don't like Christmas?! Nor me!! I could sleep through it.

OP posts:
Solo · 08/12/2015 23:24

I have about 10 days off over Christmas, so am going to try to get some of my house sorted out. It will be hard to know where to start, but I have got to do it.

OP posts:
TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 10/12/2015 01:25

I need to get my house sorted before Christmas, at least the downstairs rooms.

Solo · 22/12/2015 00:37
