which dishwasher tablet do you use?

As above, please share with me your preferred all in one dishwasher tablet. I usually prefer Fairy green ones (platinum if on offer, regular if not) just getting a bit fed up of them never seeming to be on offer at the moment.

I'm not keen on the regular Finish powerball ones, they don't smell very fresh and seemed to fade my crockery a bit I don't like lemon fragranced ones much either. Apart from that I'm open to suggestions? I've just bought co op value brand 30 for £1.75 as there were no branded ones on offer that I could see, and I'm getting fed up paying 20p per tablet!

The Sainsburys own brand ones are pretty good, the ones that are a bit like the Fairy ones, with the gooey stuff.

But nothing beats Fairy Platinum, just a pity they are so expensive as you say.

Aldi all in one for about £3.99. I've tried most kinds and find these are really the best. Such good value for money.

Lidl's own ones. All in one and do a wonderful job.

Lidls 5 in 1 ones.

Aldi bog standard ones.

You shouldn't use salt or rinse aid if these are in the tablets you use.

You get better results using salt and rinse aid as well as the tablets especially as the salt in the tablets doesn't activate the softener function of the dishwasher. I use own brand salt/rinse aid and finish/fairy tablets when they are on offer

I use asda smart price tablets.

They clean everything fine.

I don't truly believe any of the expensive ones could achieve a better outcome.

I use the Fairy ones - if you have either a Home Bargains or Savers have them as well and are very similar price at something like 11p each

Waitrose essential. Break in half and just use half for average loads. I also use salt and rinse aid.

Absolutely never finish powerball - only ones I've ever used which didn't completely dissolve in my machine.

Asda and Sainsburys are as good as anything else I've tried. Going to try cutting them in half .

I have recently discovered that how "good" a tablet is depends on how good your dishwasher is! We used to have a cheapo, basics dishwasher. The only way to get dishes clean was with proper fancy, Finish-or-similar tablets.
A couple of years ago we were bought a fancy Siemens dishwasher by my parents (an anniversary gift ), we continued with Finish out of habit till times of a bit tough financially and then we tried some own brand ones - no difference AT ALL. Morrisons and ASDA basics, own-brand, absolutely fine :)

Aldi here - recommended by Which and/or Good Housekeeping, dead cheap, work fine, & no angsting about special offers.

Salt/rinse aid thing depends where you live

Soft water here, I don't use either & glasses are clear

Fairy Platinum. The only way I can get them cheap enough is by buying about a hundred at a time. I do think they're worth it. My kitchen glasses got "dishwasher cancer" with cheap tablets and had to be thrown away.
I wash my pans by hand. They take up too much room in the dishwasher and I use my favourites twice a day. For that it has to be Lidl Eco washing up liquid in lavender. Great cleaning power!

Thanks for suggestions, perhaps I'll try the lidl ones as lidl is just down the road going to the 99p store today so I'll see what offers they have in there too.

Soft water here. Dishwasher is good but 7yo. The co op value one I used last night seems to have done a decent job so I am confident about swapping down a brand from the Fairy if I cant find them on offer.

Finish Classic bought in bulk from Costco, plus seperate salt and rinse aid. I don't like 3 in 1 tablets, I've never found they work.

Just the Finish powerball ones from the pound store. But reading this I might try out something a bit fancier now...

Sainsburys own powder plus salt and rinse aid. When they installed the machine that's what was recommended. Results are fine and glasses less cloudy than old machine with fancy tablets.

Also a snap in halfer here with Aldi all in 1 tabs. Works out about 5p a wash.

Do they still? And non-brand name products are not tested on animals? Well I'd not heard that before.

You can google to see if the supermarket you shop at tests on animals.

M&S, Astonish, method, ecover and The Co-Op are BUAV approved.

Sainsburys, morrisons etc don't test but don't supply a fixed cut off date for testing so no leaping bunny symbol. Sainsbos do for own brand toiletries so maybe household goods will follow.

But yes, the big brand leaders still use animals to test for safety which is why we don't have one single branded cleaning item or air freshener etc in this house.

If you have a home bargains store near you then I highly recommend Clean and Fresh Lemon dw tabs. £1.69 for 30.
I have been using them a couple of years now and cannot tell the difference between them and premium brands results wise.
