Hello! Dsis (also a MNer and also very into Fly but hasn't appeared on these threads and I don't want to out her - she may not want anyone to make the connection ) is staying here with her dh and dd so I need to spend all today getting the place habitable. Well...you know what I mean. Am heading off now and will try not to let myself come back until the spare bedroom is ready at least.

I'm lucky that I don't have to make any Christmas cake or anything as mil makes one for us. Lasts a couple of months too it's so generously sized.

IvortheEngine · 04/11/2006 09:10

P.S. Don't worry about the link in future if you struggle to do them is my suggestion. Just open a new thread and put a post on the previous one giving the date, time, title and OP's name of the new one. Job done!

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2006 09:18

oh yeh...forgot about putting it on fridays thread....
Cheers Ivor and good luck with the house and family!!!

S'okay. I've just done a link on the Friday thread to this one.

IvortheEngine · 04/11/2006 09:23

And thanks for the "good luck". I'd do before and after photos if I was more IT literate.

Jelley · 04/11/2006 09:27

Morning,

I've also got a timer on this morning to get me off the computer (it's dd1 - I told her she can have her go at 9.45).
Today is my bed changing day, so I need to get going.

Have a good w/e with your sis Ivor.

BudaBeast · 04/11/2006 09:30

Ended up on phone to a friend who has just had a baby in UK and he had an op for a diaphragm hernia at GOSH on Thursday - so have done nothing but don't care as was great to talk to her.

Did have a shower though but DS and DH will be home any minute.

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2006 09:31

Right gotta go...lots to tidy and dh to jump on!!!
(to get him out of bed!)

See you all later FLY peeps

shazdisembodiedronnie · 04/11/2006 10:22

Hello!

IvortheEngine · 04/11/2006 10:29

Dsis now not coming to stay as her dd was unwell last night so they are heading home for tonight. I'm going to pretend that she is so that I carry on with all the things that I was going to clean and tidy.

tinshoes · 04/11/2006 11:17

Morning all.

Have cleaned out the filter on my hoover this morning - yuk. Cleaned out an awful cupboard in the kitchen with all of our 'manuals' in and then been into town and treated us to some new christmas decorations

Feel very worthy.

IvortheEngine · 04/11/2006 11:24

Hi tinshoes. I'm finding it hard to keep motivated. Have joined in a few other threads which won't help. Am trying to only pop on when drinking tea etc though. Dh and ds will be home soon, so that'll put a stop to MNing most of today as dh uses it for banking, etc and ds for homework/football stuff. Just as well I got my fix in early, really!

tinshoes · 04/11/2006 11:31

I've had a full week of demotivation and overtiredness so I've woken up today with a plan to do a small job every day, hence my post before.

The trip to town and picking the xmas decs was my reward

It works for children so why not with us. Lets try and focus on what we are doing rather than what we're not

Jelley · 04/11/2006 12:59

I spent 20 mins this morning fishing a library book out from the back of my radiator.
The paperwork footrest is smaller and neater, but still there.

IvortheEngine · 04/11/2006 13:05

Absolutely, tinshoes. Btw, aren't they uncomfortable and cold?

Jelley - Good on you. By the time I tackle my paperwork I usually find that I've missed half the deadlines etc!

peegeeweegee · 04/11/2006 14:15

I am absolutely about the fact you lot are getting things done today!!
As it is the weekend, I have lost all motivation....

Dh is working today, so have taken dd to ballet, came home, mooched around, did one load of laundry and then cleared an area to the side of our house which is going to be a second patio area. As a result I am now all muddy (and frozen!) and the house is a tip as two dc and one dog have traipsed in with muddy feet/paws.

Aaaarghhhhh

Right, will get off here, do some more gardening, and will be back at 3.30 for a cuppa....

HN and HN's steptree, I hope you are well!!

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2006 14:35

Hi, I have just popped back on while dh has a break from his poker!!

What are your chrimbo decorations like tinshoes? I really want to go get some too...

Hi susi...you are on a roll...I might take a leaf from your book and go do something constructive! So far all I've done is a bit of washing...eat pizza and have a cutch with the kids.

see you in a bit

OP posts:
ludaloudbang · 04/11/2006 14:40

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH now I have to go out in the cold..dh has dropped a pan of ash all over the patio...and he seems to be doing very little about it!!!!!

peegee...I think I'll be freezing too...

OP posts:
tinshoes · 04/11/2006 14:49

weekends are for resting

luda - my decs are lovely. A pack of 50 red, green & gold bables, boots, dangly things etc. Some red and green thick tinsel and beads, and also a singing frog for my DD - which she LOVES but is driving me nuts already. For the last few years we have had silver and blue so this will make a nice change for me. All from ASDA so nice and cheap

Hazel and Hazel's mum - good healthy vibes being sent your way. Hope the kiddies are ok with it all.

and lol @ ivor. yes, tinshoes are very uncomfortable. might have to warm them up for winter....

tinshoes · 04/11/2006 14:57

oh, and ii've also been collecting little xmas decorations whenever we've been away or on holiday since DD was born so hopefully the tree will be a bit more sentimental this year
