Right, am back inside, and have a lovely hot cuppa steaming up my laptop monitor...

Have managed to clear the new patio area completely and laid a row of bricks marking where the edge will be. Next step will be levelling it all, using some leftover paving slabs and cobbles to make some casual design, fill in the rest with gravel and hey presto!! (it is a patio made entirely from recycled materials found laying around our garden...)

The house is still a tip, although I did manage to swish and swipe the kitchen and do the washing up, and the dc have cleared all the toys of the lounge floor, so that looks a bit better too.

We are going to a friends house in about an hour for drinks and nibbles, and then once dh has joined us from work will have some dinner and then head of to the local bonfire/fireworks display. Looking forward to it

Tin - your decorations sound lovely!! Our tree is predominantly red and gold, and every year I let the children chose a new decoration each, so it is becoming really sentimental... (will need a massive tree by the time they are 18 though!!!)

Gosh I wish you guys could see this - ds (age 7) has just put a New Order CD on and him and his sister (age 3) are dancing around the lounge - really really funny!!

House a general mess BUT I did sort our larder cupboard. Threw out lots of stuff past use by date.

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 04/11/2006 18:49

Hi all.And hello shaz. Good to see you!
Hope HN is ok.
Busy morning cutting grass. Wasn't easy because it was a little wet. Kept clogging up the mower!
DS2 went to a party this afternoon so i took DS1 and DD's to the park. We ended up staying for 2 and a half hours because it would of taken ages to walk home then been time to pick DS2 up! Then it was time for them to go back to their Dads. Ive done lots of running around today.
Just had tea.Get DD's to bed soon then relax!

Hello all. Its still Hazel`s mum mum here. Hazel did not have a good night. She is in a lot of pain with breathing. Test have shown that she is very run down and the cold she had and then went on to be flu has got down on her chest very bad. Because she was already on Anti-Bs they did not think it was that, that was making her ill. With the pain killers she takes every day, took a lot of the pain that you and I would feel if we were like she is now. Another reason why they did not think she was so bad from the flu and now her chest.
She is now on stronger pain killers and the Anti-Bs she is now getting now are going in through a drip. She is also getting help with her breathing. She has been drugged up well to make her rest as well. All in all she is not very well at all.

The children are ok, just missing their mummy very much but they are coping as long as I/we keep them going. We were all crying before bed time.

The Doctors have said that she should be picking up tomorrow so we are going to see her then if we can. I went to see her today, but she was just out for the count and sleeping. When she does come round/wakes up then she will see the cards that the children have made for her.

I am going to have a bath now. I will be back in a little bit to read and write bits down for Hazel for when she is better.

I just wish there was more I could do for her to make her better quicker. It was not good seeing her today looking so ill. I wish I got her GP to do more now too. It was not like her to stay in bed all day. I thought it was down to having the flu.

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 04/11/2006 21:55

Hi Hazel's mum!
Sorry to hear she is still not good. She was only saying the other day she felt a bit better. Now sounds like she's really poorly. Send her my best wishes and i hope she is back on her feet and home with her dc soon. (((hugs)))
She is lucky to have you to look after the dc. I would be stuck if i was that bad. I have no-one who can have my dc for me.

thehazelnutthatdoesnotgoBANG · 04/11/2006 22:19

Quick bath as I now have a little girl with me. Hazel as told me that (name of little one) like to sit and watch when Hazel is on the computer.

Ivor, Thank-you for the link for here. I did have to use it as I could not find where to look. It was not on the last hour bit. But the Friday thread was on "thread you are in" bit.

peegeeweegee. HN`s steptree made me laugh. Thank-you

Iudaloudbang, tinshoes Thank-you for your wishes/healthy vibes and anyone who I have missed reading. I am very sorry if I have left anyone off.

Tortoise, Thank-you for the wishes and hugs for Hazel. Yes she was seemed to be getting better but then just went down hill Thursday night and even more last night.

At least the doctors know what it is now and are treating her for it. I hope she soon gets better now too. The Dc really miss her. I hope you never have to be this ill. I think its all down to what is going on with her 1st ex, ME, and this wet weather we have been having. Just to much for her to cope with. I wish I had done more before now. But on saying that Hazel has been saying that she is doing fine. I should have seen through that and helped her more. I feel that I have let her down, but I will do my best to make it up to her now though.

I hope there is a way for Hazel to read for herself what you have all said for her. You are all so very kind. Thank-you all

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 04/11/2006 22:41

Awww I'm sure you did you best at the time. Its easy to cover up how bad you feel when ill sometimes.
These threads will not disapear so she will be able to read up on them all when she gets home.
If i can't find the days thread i go into by topic then down to good housekeeping and look for that days FLY thread!
Her DD likes it when i'm talking to Hazel on the MSN messenger and i put up the tigger image. H says DD says Tig Tig Tig when she sees it.

lovingbloodfest · 04/11/2006 23:06

where is the link!?! am at a loss as have been following it ish!!!!!

thehazelnutthatdoesnotgoBANG · 04/11/2006 23:14

Thanks for that info tortoise. I have wrote down what you have just said. She is too good at covering up when she is not well and coping ok. I wish she would ask for more help sometimes. I know she is worried that her ex will take her boys from her and use them as a means of having an income and a house to live in. I have seen her crying so much because of him. Hazel and DGD`s dad never stood a chance with him around.

Now you have said about tig tig tig I now know what DGD was on about. She kept pointing at the computer saying tig tig.

She is now sleeping in Hazel`s bed and that where I am going now. 3 Dc really make you feel tired and with the running around too I am now ready for bed. Barbara next door is cooking us tea tomorrow night. DGSs are looking forward to that.

Hope you have a good sleep tortoise when you go to bed. You have been busy today too with the garden and a party and the park.

Take care and thank-you all for your kind words.

Hazelnut`s Hazelnuttree. xxxxxx + hugs for all you mums. Night night

ludaloudbang · 05/11/2006 07:16

Oh dear Hazelnut's step-tree - really sorry to hear that she is so poorly (I am new to this thread so she won't "know" me). Poor thing. BUT - she is in the best place. At least she can get lots of rest and the proper drugs and know that you are looking after her children. And you haven't let her down at all. It is sometimes hard to know how ill someone is. Hopefully she will soon be on the mend and home.

Re: Flying - well have done load of washing. Am off out for lunch at 12 so probably won;t get much done but it is Sunday - a day of rest supposedly!

Need to tidy out the tupperware cupboad so may do that this morning.

peegeeweegee · 05/11/2006 08:15

Morning all!!

Hello Hazelnuts steptree - how are you this morning, and how is Hazelnut?

Please send her best wishes and some comforting {{{hugs}}}from me. Send some to her dc too, sounds like they miss their mum.

she is very very lucky to have you, you are a fab tree!!

On the FLYing front, not much is happening. My (clean) laundry basket is overflowing with item to sort, fold, iron etc...
The house is covered in mud, piles of paperwork everywhere, beds need changing, aaaarrrggghhh

Dd is going to her best friends 4th birthday party this morning, ds and I are staying to help.
Then I am hoping to get some more work done on my new patio, so all flying will have to wait till tonight...

Have a great day all!!

ludaloudbang · 05/11/2006 08:18

oooh you have a tupperware cupboard! I need one of those! Sadly I don't have the space to dedicate a whole cupboard but it sounds like a good plan! I open my cupboard and everything just tumbles out.

I have so far folded a load of washing...put another load in
Emptied the dishwasher...and reloaded with breakfast bits
Eaten lots of fruit cake I made yesterday!

I might just sort my cupboards out though now!!!!

IvortheEngine · 05/11/2006 10:33

Hello all esp Hazel's Mum and please continue to pass on my best wishes to her.

lovingbloodfest - If my memory serves me correctly, I did a link at the end of the Fri thread to bring people to this thread. Tortoise's tip of searching by topic, looking for Good Housekeeping and scrolling down to find the thread is a good one.

Am not going to be on MN much today as I really want to get lots done. Dh cooked (I use the word in a totally different way to the norm, there) tea last night. Instead of being late for tea, dd and I arrived home to find the kitchen full of the smell of chicken fat on the bottom of the hot oven and the potatoes and other veg not even part cooked! I was not best pleased and told ds off for not being in the kitchen to give his clueless Dad tips on what to do and when. Ds particularly knows how to cook. What I use; when it goes on in relation to other foods etc. Dh is going to clean the oven today - serves him right! I had thought of sending him with dd to take her to dance and into town to choose her new glasses but thought he'd make a mess of it as he, unlike me, doesn't wear glasses. Maybe he's learnt something from the cooking episode. I hope so!

Must get cracking now. There is a huge ironing pile to be tackled.
