I've got a few child free hours today and i really need to sort the house out. anybody want to join me and keep each other going?

I've got 4 rooms to sort plus laundry etc. going to set a half an hour timer in each room and to from there. Will put the washing machine on first and then make a start on the kitchen for half an hour.

I will come back here once iv done that - so see you in about 40 mins! Grin

good to see so many takers Wink Grin

well anyway i will continue on my own and if anybody joins in then even better. ive done my half an hour in the kitchen but it's not finished. going to have a snack and then do half an hour sorting downstairs shower room and the bedroom (counted this as one room as neither are too bad).

I'm doing a general big clean today once I stop eating croissants.

dc have been sent to tidy their room and strip beds, I did hoover and mop last night and my kitchens fairly clean.

One lot of washing on, will dust and polish living, then sort out my room, clean the bath and start batch cooking for the next few weeks for a midweek meal.

ilikepie · 07/02/2015 11:02

ok, you have galvanised me into getting off MN for 30mins while baby is asleep and I'll try and find the living room and kitchen under the mess. DS1 and 2 will be trying their best to ruin my efforts, but i'll be able to say i tried!

Lweji · 07/02/2015 11:02

The cleaner will join you. One of the bedrooms is being vacuumed.

I have put the washing machine on, though, and already sorted the dry laundry. She did the ironing.
And I've tidied up. Yay.

Will update later on how she progresses. Grin

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 11:04

Oh bloody hell, if I have to....... Will report back in 20, timer on as I am a notoriously lazy cow.

UnidentifiedSighingObject · 07/02/2015 11:09

I've done the kitchen and all the floors (tidied before bed last night, so didn't take too long today). Having a coffee before I tackle the bathroom. Hope your is going well!

PinkSquash · 07/02/2015 11:10

Ive cleaned the bathroom, hung 3 loads of washing on the line put the clean washing away, tidied a little and wiped the kitchen. I'm now trying to get DH to vacuum as I've been busy Grin

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 11:26

I've hoovered the ground floor and had a general tidy, 5 minute break before I feed the dishwasher and wipe the kitchen surfaces. I really need to deep clean the kitchen floor too (it is disgusting but a forgiving colour/texture so I keep ignoring it), any suggestions for my floor nightmare? It's bloody massive too (not a stealth boastWink).

JenniferJen · 07/02/2015 12:19

right I've cleaned the shower room from top to bottom, sorted bedroom, and kitchen is well on it's way. just having a cuppa and then getting back to it. Think I'm going to do the dining room next. although before i start I'm going to do another lot of laundry as ive stripped some of the beds. starting to get a bit knackered now though and still loads to do. enthusiasm is going down a bit Sad
Think I might do one last 30 min and then i will stop for some lunch and hope that a rest will give me the energy to finish it off!

I'm now wasting time MNING. Need to just get on with it but not in the mood.

blackheartsgirl · 07/02/2015 13:19

i'm in.

so far I have:

put 2 loads of washing on.
put 1 load on the radiators/airer.
completely gutted, bleached and rearranged kitchen and mopped floor (i heard gnawing behind the cooker in the wee hours of this morning so I think we have a mouse)
tidied hallway.

I need to clean front room, hoover and mop.

clam · 07/02/2015 13:21

Mine is a bombsite but I just can't be bothered. Will have to, though, as houseproud people coming round tonight. Sitting room looks nice - just needs a hoover, open-plan hall dining room OK-ish - couple of school bags and gloves etc lying around. Kitchen - dh wanted a medal for doing it did it last night, and just has laundry waiting to be put in machine.

But upstairs...... Oh GOD!!!

Can I stay on here in denial please?

clam · 07/02/2015 13:22

blackheart OMG, MICE???????

Here.... Wine

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 13:32

I am joining clam in denial, does lying in the bath count as cleaning?

blackheartsgirl · 07/02/2015 14:19

won't mention the mouse infestation I had in a house 15 years ago where we caught 17 mice in 2 days oh no

I didn't find said mouse, no droppings yuk so I'm wondering ifs in the wall somewhere, either way the kitchen has been scrubbed to death.

done the front room, need to put more washing on but too comfy

Lweji · 07/02/2015 14:24

Came back to a lovely clean home.
Managed to hand the laundry outside and now waiting for the sun to do its bit too.

Somewhere there are clothes to put away (will they be done this weekend?) and the weekly shopping.

BakingMad91 · 07/02/2015 14:49

Glad it's not only me cleaning on a Saturday. Ive managed to fill four bin bags with rubbish and it still looks a mess!

FriedFishAndBread · 07/02/2015 15:29

I'm done all i have is ironing and washing to put away plus one more load.

cheeseburgerandfries · 08/02/2015 01:56

Oh I love these threads! Anybody continuing today (Sunday)?

WouldYouBelieveIt · 08/02/2015 08:28

Me! Couldn't yestetday as we were out of the house all day. Am trying to rope in DH who is still in bed - for a bit of babysitting if nothing else while I clean. House is a tip so will need a lot of tidying done before I can get to the actual cleaning. Need to get it in some kind of order before DH starts new job tomorrow

afreshstartplease · 08/02/2015 08:31

Why didn't I see this yesterday!

afreshstartplease · 08/02/2015 09:32
