I've got a few child free hours today and i really need to sort the house out. anybody want to join me and keep each other going?

I've got 4 rooms to sort plus laundry etc. going to set a half an hour timer in each room and to from there. Will put the washing machine on first and then make a start on the kitchen for half an hour.

I will come back here once iv done that - so see you in about 40 mins! Grin

Mine do dry this time of the year, but not today.
Just as long as there's sun and wind, they dry.

Off to take dry clothes from indoor drier and replace with whites. Taking bets on whether I will be able to enroll 10 year old DS. We must start them early.

Keep going team clean!
First lot of washing up done and the next is soaking in the sink let's not think how old some of those dishes are next lot of laundry is in, and first lot hung up- on radiators and airers! Also hoovered living room, which now looks a lot more like somewhere you might be able to sit and relax without having to close your eyes and put a peg on your nose!

Note to all, take care hoovering the edges of carpet underneath the radiator where clothes are drying. 3 separate items tried to escape up the bloody nozzle!

Next- the bedroom. Cannot face the kitchen just yet.

Done -

Washing in dryer
Stripped bed and dds cot
Washer on
More pots done
Kitchen bin emptied and rinsed out
Pets cleaned out
Cleared some cobwebs that were lurking
Sorted some photos

Need to make some dinner now really then back to it!

hijk · 14/02/2015 11:45

I've done an hour in the kitchen. Now it just looks dirty and untidy, rather than like the aftermath of an earthquake. I'm just having a little break, then the living room hour.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 14/02/2015 11:52

I was meant to start 3 hours ago but came to lie down as felt tired then didn't end up sleeping. Gonna get up now because I'm gasping for a drink so will start with laundry then polishing then hoovering and mopping then clean the bathroom. Booooooooo Sad

hijk · 14/02/2015 12:04

ok, now the living room.

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 12:07

Looking at the pile of random crap that is now covering my table and wondering how the dc will eat their lunch!

hijk · 14/02/2015 12:58

ok, that was 50 mins, not an hour, and not very productive, either. Now I'm having a cup of tea, then starting my bedroom. I need to clear my bedroom so I can put everything in the living room away.

hijk · 14/02/2015 13:00

come on freshstart! You and I are going to go to bed tonight with sparkling houses!

Well, mine might not sparkle for a few days yet, but at least I have started.

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 13:02

I threw most of it on the floor Blush

hijk · 14/02/2015 13:29

right, now an hour upstairs, cleaning the bedroom. Might even put the christmas tree decorations away.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 14/02/2015 13:57

All laundry drying now, last few pans soaking in the sink. Bedding changed and bedroom hoovered, AND half the Xmas stuff put away hijk Smile need a tall person to come round and help with the rest. Now kitchen and bathroom to tackle.... sigh

hijk · 14/02/2015 14:47

well, have done quite a lot of work upatairs, but am now dawdling around on mums net wasting time..... I will start again at 3pm. honest!

WouldYouBelieveIt · 14/02/2015 16:03

Third load of washing on, all sheets changed on all beds, kitchen sparkling and tidy (much overdue). Now a quick shower before I tackle the rest of the house...

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 16:11

I gave up Sad

hijk · 14/02/2015 16:14

well, I haven't given up exactly, but I haven't done much for the last 2 hours.

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 16:19

I lay on the bed

Big mistake

hijk · 14/02/2015 16:20

yes, me too, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to be up again bounding with energy any minute, honest!

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 16:23

I did get up as the smallest dc woke up and is currently in need of cuddles and peppa pig

In need to start tea though so she will not be happy

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 14/02/2015 16:54

Phew. Done. Not to show home standards by a long stretch but clutter is in designated boxes, and flat is generally a much more pleasant place to be and no longer a health hazard. Ended by spring cleaning me with an indulgent shower with all my nicest products.

Now to enjoy a solo night in.... still feel a bit rubbish, but cleaning can't solve everything can it Smile

Come on team clean last push- just do what you can and pat yourself on the back for that much Grin

afreshstartplease · 14/02/2015 16:57

Making tea
Tired and unmotivated

Will try and do some more after tea though

WouldYouBelieveIt · 14/02/2015 17:26

Had a few urgent work things to do. The rest of the cleaning will have to wait till tomorrow, I'm afraid. Oh the rock'n'roll lifestyle of life with small children Grin

Feeling quite pleased with my achievements :
Ds to drama class

Did food shop, got home put it all away.
Cleaned kitchen.
Laundry on.
Collected Ds from drama.
Dry laundry folded and put away.
All bedding changed and washed and dried.
Hoovered upstairs .
Had nap to get rid of banging headache.
Baked cake for church tomorrow as retired minister is moving away and I was asked to bake farewell cake.
Made tiramisu for Dh and I for dessert tonight( my nod to Valentines day!)

That's about it!

afreshstartplease · 15/02/2015 08:07

Dc are all up fed and dressed

isitsnowingyet · 15/02/2015 08:21

Can I join your thread even though it's the wrong day now?

The house is a mess with lots of clean clothes to be put away plus other stuff generally messy. To make a list

kitchen to tidy + put recycling stuff away
DDs bedroom a total tip - to tidy and hoover
Hallway to hoover and sort out kids' school/kit bags
DS1 bedroom
DS2 bedroom
Bathroom needs a good clean

Ahhh - feel better now I have made a list. DH and the boys have been ill this week while I've been working long days etc - feel a tad knackered but need to do this!!!! Thanks for starting inspirational thread yesterday as this will galvanize me into action. Will report back later Grin
