Name ONE Chore you would happily never do again

I am fed up to the back teeth of cooking, or maybe I mean 'catering'. I'm fed up of thinking of meals, of doing a shopping list, buying the effing stuff, preparing it, dishing it up, clearing it away, wiping the bloody kitchen surfaces and then doing it all over again the next day. DH does some days but I'm just fed up with it generally. If it was just me and DH I wouldn't bother. Cottage cheese and tomato rolls every day for me, thank you very much. Name one household chore you would love NEVER to have to do again. Mine is

COOKING

Cleaning the kitchen floor. Hate it!

MrsBertMacklin · 14/01/2015 20:35

Filing paperwork. I've opted for online statements etc. wherever possible, but still the buggering pension statements, insurance renewal invitations etc. arrive by post. HATE doing it.

Pantone363 · 14/01/2015 20:36

Dinner. I hate hate HATE it.

Even the DC asking what's for dinner gives me the rage

oopswoops · 14/01/2015 20:38

Dusting! Hate it. And don't really notice the dust

Bluecarrot · 14/01/2015 20:38

Meal prep or laundry. Can't decide. Both seem like never ending chores.

Tory79 · 14/01/2015 20:40

To be really specific, dusting the sodding black shiny tv stand. It's dusty again within seconds. Drives me mad!

iklboo · 14/01/2015 20:40

Cleaning the bathroom & toilets. DH & DS are supreme skid leavers & bowl missers. Also blind to said skids & spills. That & the toothpaste all over the sink and suds in the bath & on the shower screen. AND the damp, musty bloody towels? Grrrrrrr.

motleymop · 14/01/2015 20:41

Not doing much of it at the moment, but - gardening. Don't have a clue what I'm doing for a start, plus it usually necessitates a trip to the tip with bag fulls of leaves etc (after traipsing loads of dirt through the house). It bores me senseless and it's expensive too.

HumphreyCobbler · 14/01/2015 20:41

Hanging out washing. Something about it gives me an evil rage. So I make DH do it whenever possible.

SurlyCue · 14/01/2015 20:42

Yep cooking for me too. I would happily never see a saucepan again.

nottheOP · 14/01/2015 20:42

Dusting, specifically skirting boards

Deedeecupcake · 14/01/2015 20:45

Washing the dishes. I could go the rest of my life without hand washing another thing. I HATE IT!!!!

Stillyummy · 14/01/2015 20:48

Dusting. Every room and surface sucks. I hate it. I really hate it. Hate hate hate!

echt · 14/01/2015 21:04

Dusting. God, I hate it.

MrsPear · 14/01/2015 21:22

Tory79 do we have the same TV stand?!

Mine is big and black and always seem to look dusty. I hate it along with the huge embarrassing TV that is on top of it. Yes husband why did we have to have one that size?!

Groovester · 14/01/2015 21:29

Cleaning the oven...
Cleaning the Toothpaste smeared all over the bathroom sink. Morning and night!
Cooking. Bored of it now.
Meh.

Mrsstevejones · 14/01/2015 22:52

Putting laundry away. I can manage washing it and hanging it out ( hate it being all over the house in winter but too tight to use tumble dryer much) but putting it away seems beyond me. I usually end up rummaging through baskets of clean washing to find stuff, which invariably ends up messing them up. It would just be easier to put it away but totally cant seem to get my head around it. uurgghh

marshmallowpies · 14/01/2015 22:55

Ironing & hoovering. And I don't do much of either, especially since we got a dust buster thingy, I clean up bits of mud walked into the house or crumbs as and when, and leave the main hoovering to DH.

marshmallowpies · 14/01/2015 23:02

Blimey - all the things I most enjoy (cooking, gardening, dusting) are everyone else's least favourites! I will happily garden for anyone that will do my hoovering for me...

DizziDoll · 14/01/2015 23:08

Folding laundry and putting it away. My house is covered in baskets of unfolded clothes.

MuttersDarkly · 14/01/2015 23:08

All things fire related.

Since June I have chopped, sorted, peeled, stacked, wrestled with DIY cover making in the name of logs.

Now I am lugging logs inside, cleaning glass, racking ashes, composting ashes, lighting, and plonking logs on at regular intervals.

By early March I will be lugging, stacking and swearing at the lot that has been seasoning this winter as I move it all into the portico for next winter. It will take till June. Cos... the portico is a long way from the seasoning stack.

And then I will begin again with the arrival of the next 120,000 fecking dusty, splintery, backbreaking, sweat inducing in 30° plus temps kilos.

I hate fires.

nousernamesleft · 14/01/2015 23:18

Washing the fucking kitchen floor.
45 minutes on my hands and knees this afternoon and, after two toddlers ate tea, it looks like it's not seen a drop of water in a month. And ds1 dropped a cup of apple juice at supper time.

Tory79 · 14/01/2015 23:23

mrspear and possibly the same husband as we also have a ridiculously big tv that is apparently essential....

raspberrywhitechocolate · 14/01/2015 23:29

Putting things away! I will happily do all washing up and all clothes washes if dp will sort and put them all away. It's mind-numbing.

TheWindowDonkey · 14/01/2015 23:30

Yes to cooking, in fact not just cooking but All food prep. I would LOVE to have a personal chef and never have to prepare or cook again unless i want to!!
I used to love it pre kids too!
