I am fed up to the back teeth of cooking, or maybe I mean 'catering'. I'm fed up of thinking of meals, of doing a shopping list, buying the effing stuff, preparing it, dishing it up, clearing it away, wiping the bloody kitchen surfaces and then doing it all over again the next day. DH does some days but I'm just fed up with it generally. If it was just me and DH I wouldn't bother. Cottage cheese and tomato rolls every day for me, thank you very much. Name one household chore you would love NEVER to have to do again. Mine is

COOKING

Ironing. I absolutely detest it.

RedCrayons · 18/01/2015 16:19

Stop ironing then. I put it wet onto hangers and put it away once its dry.
If owner of said garment wants it ironed, they do it themselves. 90% of the stuff doesn't need doing anyway.

HelloItsStillMeFell · 18/01/2015 17:23

only if you wear lots of polyester...

annielostit · 18/01/2015 17:52

Dusting skirtings, emptying dishwasher and I hate the oven cleaning! But that's 3.Smile

hooker29 · 18/01/2015 18:53

food shopping-do it all online now so I can at least have a glass of wine while I'm doing it.
Absolutely hate cooking-find it a massive bore, and a chore....so much so that DH does all the cooking. If I do have to cook,it has to have breadcrumbs on.....cos I can just stick it in the oven.

izcullen · 19/01/2015 01:44

You're all so much more virtuous at housework than me! Dusting the skirting??? What's that?!! Also I let my husband iron his own shirts - ahem! But if I had to pick a particular peeve

izcullen · 19/01/2015 01:51

Sorry, phone is old and doesn't like posting. Yes, if I had a particular peeve it would be picking up empty wrappers from where the kids have left them. I have asked nicely, I have nagged, I have gone batshit crazy at them, but nothing seems to work. It does my head in Confused

Thanks for the suggestion of a cordless vac motley, sounds like a plan,
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced decent one?

cheapandcheerful · 19/01/2015 22:17

Cleaning the loo. Bleugch.

motleymop · 19/01/2015 22:19

I would also like recommendations for good, reasonably priced cordless vacuums. They are quite pricey but perhaps the price will come down with time...

cheapandcheerful · 20/01/2015 09:06

Me too motley

We're just about to move from a 2-bed flat to a 3-bed house and I'm not sure that the ancient vacuum we inherited from dh's 100-yr-old grandma is quite going to cut it any more!

motleymop · 20/01/2015 11:18

The Dyson gets amazing reviews on the Argos website but it is 300 smackeroonies.

motleymop · 20/01/2015 11:21

Oh, actually, that is the pet hair one - there is another one without the special pet hair attachment for 219 quid but even so.... bit of an investment.
