Hi Ruby. Glad you are on the up.

Lack of motivation here today!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 15/10/2006 12:37

DH has done the kitchen for me - so it is FLY'd

Living room - boxes that had taken over one end are now in the small bedroom upstairs and I have a living room back! Have de-cluttered shelf and tidied toys and hoovered.

DH is now making a quick lunch - will have chicken and the works tonight.

Been to Asda for a few bits and back and its all away.

Upstairs swished and swiped and bedrooms tidy.

Cleaning the carpet tonight once girls are in bed and DH will do the mountain of ironing

Chill out afternoon here - cant be bothered to do much else! Girls were up at 5.15am!!!

claricebean · 15/10/2006 13:14

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, and flying for about the same. Can I join you? I live in Cordoba, Spain with DH, DD1 (6), DD2 (4), DS (21 months) and beanie (EDD 4.4.07). Really needed some motivation in the cleaning dept as energy was SO low in first trimester, but am now 15 + 4 weeks and am finally feeling a bit more human. DH has been away in UK for 6 weeks and is back in 6 days . Looking forward to chatting with you.

TortUREoiseChamber · 15/10/2006 13:43

Hi everyone.
Welcome Clarice. If you baby waits until the 7th then it will be my birthday. Just need someone to say there birthday is on the 5th now I hope you enjoy FLYlady, I find it helps and I really enjoy doing some jobs now instead of having to do them.

Ruby.. Glad to see you are feeling a bit better now, hope you keep it keeps going that way too.

Tortoise.. Christmas is for the DC. Your poor DSs last xmas with no/very little dec`s. Even DD loved the lights last year and she was only 13 months old. If the tree lights were not on then she would keep pionting at the tree and try to say put them on with her grunts and sad looks. As soon as I turned them on she was all smiles.
I did not have a great start to the morning as the police were round here again (6am on the dot) , looking for xp2. Someone had told them that they seen him come in here last night. (Does that mean I am being watched by who ever this person is.) If they are then they are not seeing things right. I think I who it is and if its not him then hes behind it.

I took DC out for a walk this am as it was such a lovely morning. When we got we had lunch and then went outside with the paints. Instead of washing on the line I have loads of DC`s paintings. All cleaned up now and their cloths are in the w/m. It was great fun painting outside. DS2 wanted to paint the backdoor though.
They are now watching tv and eating the rest of the cookies I made.
I stopped my FLYlady email last night, I dont read them and they are always late anyway. If I went by the bedtime email then I would be going to bed between 4 and 5am

I better get the hoover out now and hoover the lounge. Cookie crumbs to do now too.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 15:51

Well Done! Ruby

And on a Sunday too.

claricebean · 15/10/2006 16:08

Thanks for the welcome. I am already feeling better about having a cleaning routine. We don't have a lot of clutter as we had a major decluttering exercise when we moved to Spain three years ago, and since then I have been much more ruthless about not letting it build up again. But I still have days when I feel that all I do is shop, cook, fill and empty the dishwasher and washing machine etc etc, so it helps to have a system for getting things clean too.

So, I am up to speed and doing:

  • shine your sink
  • load of laundry per day
  • make bed when get up
  • weekly blessing hour
  • hot spots

have just started:

  • swish and swipe

and am reading, though not yet doing:

  • Kelly's mission

I understand about the missions being zone connected and I know there's a zone a week, and what the zones are.

BUT, what I don't understand is when do you do the 'detailed cleaning'. It seems there's loads of "don't worry, this is just 10 minutes..this is not a detailed vacuuming". I think that's why I like the system so much but presumably you do have to do some detailed cleaning in the end????

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 16:30

Every one are welcome claricebean.

I am not sure on the detailed cleaning, but I do it as you spend just 10mins or so doing detailed cleaning and then leave it for so long and then go back to it. That way it does not seem so much of a jod to do. ie I will just give the tv and unit a good clean in my lounge. then the next time I will do my large shelfs.( 1 shelf at a time or each 10 mins)

Like I said I dont know if that is what is meant but 10 mins detailed cleaning, but thats the way I do it.

TortUREoiseChamber · 15/10/2006 16:35

Back from town now. DD1 went to sleep in the buggy and is still asleep! Ive left her outside. Will wake her in a bit. DD2 is watching tv.
I don't do detailed cleaning yet!! Just do things as and when they need to be done!!

claricebean · 15/10/2006 16:39

OK, I like that. Think I will just concentrate on the stuff I'm already doing, plus Kelly's mission, and worry about more detailed stuff at some future point.

TortUREoiseChamber · 15/10/2006 17:23

JARM Was it you looking for fluffy sleepsuits? I have 2 that don't fit DD's anymore. One is age 2 but Vertbaudet so smaller(no feet) The other one says 81cm! Let me know if you would be interested in them.
(posted Friday FLY thread but think it got missed)

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 17:27

I went offline and I could not get back online for ages

DC are eating their tea now. I have put mine back until later.

I do detailed cleaning only when I feel like doing some. Just doing 1 bit at a time helps loads. I did go mad over cleaning a whole room in 1 day, but I always seemed to over do things.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 15/10/2006 17:38

hi tortoise hun, thanks for the offer - must have missed friday's post - but we got loads from primark in the end at £3 each so we are sorted for this year. Thank you anyway hun x

Went to bed this afternoon as felt terrible, DH woke me up 2.5 hrs later, with tea cooked! Bless him.

He is going to bath the girls and then I will clean my carpets once they are in bed!

sahmtotwo · 15/10/2006 17:42

Afternoon all.

Glad you are feeling a little better Ruby.

Hello to the flybaies Clarice.

Not done anything over the weekend except the basics just to keep everything ticking over.

Yesterday morning I went to the NCT sale. Had to leave the house at 9.00 and walk into town to start cueing at 9.30. The sale started at 11.30 but if you don't get there early you don't stand a chance if there is anything you really need. Was quite chuffed got some good bargains. Two stairgate, a safety 1st Potty and step stool, one of those thingd that have coloured wires with beads that you push round them, a rug with a road layout on it, quite a few toys for Christmas and clothes galore including a really nice retro suede jacket for DS2. It was fun trying to get it all out of the hall and into a taxi as the car is at the garage.

Today I've just done the basics again and we went to the local pub for lunch and picked all the grapes off the vines and washed them this afternoon.

Will get back to it next week, but it's nice just doing the basics and everything looks resonable still. Anyone know what next weeks zone is?

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 17:43

Glad you said about fluffy sleep suits tortoise. It just reminded me that DD has 4 sets upstairs in a box of cloths. I must find them out and get washed up ready. I have put her back in to baby-grows a few weeks ago. I forgot I had fuffly 1s

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 17:49

sahmtotwo... Sounds like you had some fun buying all that too!
I have to fight to get my bits and 3 DC on a bus. That takes the fun out of shopping at times.

TortUREoiseChamber · 15/10/2006 17:52

Ok JARM.Glad you found some.
Well HN if they don't fit her i have two that might!

sahmtotwo · 15/10/2006 18:02

Tell me about it Hazel. I don't drive so usually walk to the supermarket and load the buggy with shopping and baby and walk back.Flipping exhuasting and it doesn't do the buggy much good either.Tkes about half an hour to walk, a couple of hours in the supermarket and usually longer walking back 'cos I'm tired.

TortUREoiseChamber · 15/10/2006 18:04

I do main shops online.
Get small items in local town.Even then its nearly a mile to get there!

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 15/10/2006 18:22

They should fit her tortoise. Just found them out and they are 24 to 30 months.

I got small bits when I took the DSs to school. I dont at mo as they have just started to get a school bus to and from school. I might go back to picking them up in the afternoons though so I can still get bits and get out of the house for 1.5 hrs or so.
I did an icelands shop and had that delivered.

My main shop is done every other week and its differents bits each time so I dont have to much to carry. Some of the bus drivers are good and help with the bags but most are to grumpy to help. its xmas shopping I find the hardest

sahmtotwo · 15/10/2006 18:23

I would love to do my shopping online but Tesco don't take Electron. Asda don't deliver in our area even though we have great big Walmart stores in the cities 30/40 miles either side of us and we are smack bang in the middle of them. Sainsbury's is the one I go to as it is within walking-ish distance of us. I have tried they're home delivery service but they are pants, hasd some really bad problems with them and it doesn't come from my local store but the smaller one in the town 20 miles from us!!! Go figure.

Surfermum · 15/10/2006 18:38

Please can someone tell me what a blessing hour is?
