FLY setback - do not change your sheets the day before your baby does a poo explosion all over the double duvet Duvet itself needs to be drycleaned now.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 02/10/2006 13:17

Well I have put the washing out. Then the new S/W came. (She a right witch and looks like 1 too!!)
In the time talking to her it poured down and now the washing is all dripping wet. She said they doid not come out Saturday as the old S/W was ill. But they know that XP" did not come to get DSs. She said it was because of XP2!! I dont know how he can stop XP1 from coming to get DSs ???
DD is now awake and we need lunch and then it will be time to leave to get DSs from school. So much for FLYing today. Maybe I will do some later.
I think some of us have had the Monday Morning Blues. (MMB) I wonder if there is an all in one jab for that?

tessasmum · 02/10/2006 13:22

Glad this week's zone is more managable than last week's, that was a bit of a b**r to begin this whole thing on as is one HUGE hotspot

Only have small hall and half a dining room so think I can manage to make a difference in a week. Been out all morning and currently feeding DS before nap so should have time to FLY soon.

Skribble · 02/10/2006 13:38

Afternoon all, Liking the zone for this week, I needed a managble one as I have a lot to do for my business this week and DD's birthdau party to prepare for and DS's cub camp to pack for.

For any new Flybabies, here are the BABY STEPS
The theory is to tackle the clutter in short bursts in one zone at a time, while establishing routines each day and throughout the week.

This morning I have 2 loads done, one in tumble dryer the other hanging on the line in hope of sunshine.
Sinks clear and shiny, I have done 15 mins of wiping and dusting frames of windows towards weekly home fix.

More importantly I have booked venue for Bday party,
booked holiday and written cheque ready to send for it,
ordered stock,
and bagged 3kg of mints.
All the sort of things I think about tie myself in knots about, stress about but never actually do until the last minute or when it is to late.

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 13:49

oh wow! I just went out to clean my front door (i've never done it before). One of the neighbours passed me and looked at me like i was an alien. pmsl.

shazdisembodiedronnie · 02/10/2006 13:54

I've managed to do most of the blessing; will instruct DH to vac for 10 mins when I am at work later.

Feel cross and frustrated today because the house is a mess and DH is getting in my way

Keep reminding myself - only 15 minutes!

Can't wait to see your after pics Lisa!!
Will look at yours later Jasnem - my computer is on a go slow.

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 14:40

Got bread and had lunch now!
Walked past the barn fire and its still alight. Was very smoky. Not much left to burn.
Think i will do the back door in a min.Not sure what to do after that.

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 14:58

Tortureoise, this is what i've done today if it helps inspire...

CLEAN SHELF IN HALLWAY, 2 MINS
CLEAN DINING TABLE, 2 MINS
CLEAN DOWNSTAIRS LOO & SINK, 5 MINS
CLEAN FRONT DOOR, 5 MINS
CLEAN WINDOW SILLS, Hall, diningroom, downstairs loo - 5 Mins
CLEAN WINDOWS & DOORS,Hall, diningroom, downstairs loo - 5 Mins
DUST BASEBOARDS - DOWNSTAIRS LOO 2 MINS
DUST BASEBOARDS - HALL 2 MINS
STRAIGHTEN COAT RACK - HALL 2 MINS
SWEEP PORCH & BEAT MAT 4 MINS
WIPE BANISTERS, DOOR HANDLES & LIGHT FIXTURES 2 MINS

I've discovered by writing down how long it takes me I dont feel too depressed at the prospect next time. All of that has taken 40 mins which was 2 x 15 min bursts and also 10 mins while DD sat on potty twice

Hope it helps. Feeling quite proud of myself today....

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 02/10/2006 15:03

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 15:06

squatchette · 02/10/2006 15:27

Afternoon Flyers can't beleive the time or how busy the boards been so far today.

Went to visit a friend this morning with youngest dd(2).She was complaining about her lack of motivation for house work and hates her flat so is about to move and needs to get organised told her a bit about flylady and MN she thought i was BO pmsl!

I'm glad the zone is porch and hall as i did it this weekend after clearing it to let next door store their furniture overnight i had no choice.
Didn't want to feel ashamed as their house is show home tidy ,Sikh family with 3 dds all 15-2? so she gets lots of help and her DH and son always doing garden windows etc.
My dp is very lazy stopped working after a serious accident then we had Charlotte hospitals for over a year and i got pregnant with Saskia before we'd even got first one home! Then he needed to be here to look after youngest when i spent 6 months last year in hospital 60 miles away with eldest.Sure he could go back to work now .
Was planning to get playroom sorted today but going to tackle paperwork and bills with dp (do i have to call him Dp there's nothing dear about him honestly.
Left him when Saskia was 9 wks old and then when i got my new place after 4 months at a secret address he got himself evicted. It was last christmas and i said he could stay a while good dad crap partner.

He's 13 yrs older than me and from a very different background it was never going to work.He has 17 brothers and sisters and 5 half brothers all with good jobs . Why he can't go and stay with them i don't know but i've truly had enough.Just want him to move out.

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 15:29

sorry about 2 x posts. DD was helping

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 15:51

squatchette Oh tricky situation with (d)p. Can you just tell him to go? If the place is in your name he has no right to stay if you don't want him.

I have cleaned back door inside and out, radiator and skirting boards, and glass in the door(not done it in the 2yrs i have lived here!).Stopping for a rest for 5 mins then find another job to do!

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 16:49

Front room window cleaned inside and out.Glass and frame! Window sill inside cleaned(omg that was filthy!).
Bath running for DD's while i make a start on tea!

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 16:58

way to go tortoise!!

i have had a little rest while DD watched TV and did jigsaws.

Just cleaned the kitchen door which has never been cleaned. YUK. Now off to make her tea. But that is me done for the day then...

DontlookatmeImshy · 02/10/2006 17:51

Thanks for the motivation ladies.

So far I have done 3 loads of washing, 1 still in,1 waiting for some consistant sunshine, and 1 waiting for the iron. Have also mopped kitchen floor and washed all doors into the hallway, so feeling a bit better now.

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 17:54

im still unmotivated... someone give me a small job?

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 18:22

I don't know what you have that needs doing!
Um,Clean a window sill??

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 18:51

Spookyquootiepie - go and clean your light switches and door handles with a wet cloth & cleaning spray. Heard some totally weird fact on anthea the other day about how most door handles in peoples homes are dirtier than those in public toilets.

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 18:57

oh yeah - I saw that! Will do when DS gets off my lap

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 19:00

And well done DontlookatmeImshy !!

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 19:08

Well done to everyone today.
Without this thread i would of done bugger all.

batinshoes · 02/10/2006 19:10

me too tortureoise. i am reeeeeally proud of myself. DH came home and said 'wow! the house looks amazing'

admittedly its only downstairs but it is high praise. I also had tea ready and have just loaded the dishwasher and cleaned kitchen already.

as a reward i get to sit on here while he has gone up to bath dd.

jasnDISMemBERED · 02/10/2006 19:11

Me too.
I'm seriously considering doing my door handles and lightswitches before bed, thanks to you lot.
