Big tip for PVC doors - try nail varnish remover. I got mine SPARKLING last week with this. Before doing it it had loads of marks on that I couldnt remove with soapy water.

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 11:34

Ruby - I used to live next to Legoland

JessaJackOLantern · 02/10/2006 11:35

Dontlookatmeimshy - just do 15 minutes..get it over with, then have a cup of tea!

hazelnuts - I had a choice between sleeping next to ds's cot in the chair, or sleeping in the play room down the corridor. Not enough room on ward for parents beds...DS is almost back to 100% now, just the after effects of ear infection (much pus!) and a bit more sleepy than usual.

We have wooden floor in hallway, which means you can watch the drifts of dog hair float across the floorboards when you walk past them

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 11:38

Boot up your bums!
I have just cleared up toys and hoovered. DD's now watching ScoobyDoo movie. They love it!

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 11:41

I gave up in my hallway - its a mass of boxes of curains with no home, pram, pushchair and bits, 2 pairs of DHs shoes, a bag of photos... did "DSs" room though - all his clothes away, towels folded and put away, put away his bath and baskets of shampoos etc., cleaned the window, hoovered and used a laminate mop thingy on the floor, tidied his shelves... Now that room and my living room are about as clean as they are gonna get

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 11:42

errr... nice boots

SpookyQuootiepie · 02/10/2006 11:43

I keep forgetting my name change and am reading my own posts before I realise its me!

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 02/10/2006 11:45

JessaJackOLantern. I would have done what you did them and have the chair. Theres no way I would not want to be with DS2 when he was in hospital. I am glad hes on the mend now.
Ear infections seem to be on the increase now. I wonder why? My DD has had 4 in less then 2 years. DSs have never had any. XP2 had bad ear/ears.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 02/10/2006 11:55

ouch!!!! Still not move though

SQP lol

asleep · 02/10/2006 11:55

BBWBabeLisa · 02/10/2006 12:04

Morning all. Have posted before pics of my dining room & hallway (Warning, not for the faint-hearted). Determined to get them cleaned up as we've got people coming to stay at the weekend! Lisa's Before Pics

TortUREoiseChamber · 02/10/2006 12:09

Well you have some work to do in there! Just 15 mins at a time and it will soon be done.

dd2 is asleep! She was asking for her dummy which i only let her have in bed so i said no unless you go to bed.She said bed so took her up expecting her to shout after 2 mins but she's gone to sleep! Am suppose to be going to town for bread. We have none left.

jasnDISMemBERED · 02/10/2006 12:21

Can't stop to read all thread, but have dejunked magazines, returned toys from downstairs to kids' rooms and started sorting out my downstairs cloakroom/utility room. Since we don't ever seem to clean our shoes I can't imagine why I've got about 20 different lots of shoe polish!

Flamebat · 02/10/2006 12:32

Right, sorry to butt in here but I keep seeing these threads and tbh my house is currently a mess. How do you start off with this flylady stuff and how do you find the time? Oh and something else I have worked out you have to have a shiny sink but mine is plastic (horrible i know but never been able to afford to replace it) so how do I get it nice and clean?
I am having some sort of energy rush today and would love to get started on this so could someone please help me? TIA

jasnDISMemBERED · 02/10/2006 13:08

lr - there is a link at the bottom of the thread to the flylady web site. Start on baby steps. The idea is that by doing little bursts and building routines, you get on top of things. It takes a while.

Sink - bleach it, keep it empty, shine the taps instead!

wow, lots of chatting here! lots of cleaning?

just got back from pre-school. dd's 2nd session and she did great [proud mummy emoticon]

I'm very proud of myself as i did lots this morning in hallway so now just have dining room and outside front door to do this week. Going to have a cuppa now though.

Keep going everyone. You're doing great

Beccarolloveragain · 02/10/2006 13:12

I got carried away with the nail varnish remover and have done outside and inside of the back door and inside the front door. Also done the door frames and got rid of a couple of really stubborn marks on the window sills!

Add that to my work in the understairs cupboard this mornign I'd say my mission is complete. Need to get on with weekly blessing
