April's Fledgling Fliers: there's no fooling the Fat Fairy this month.

elliepac · 31/03/2014 16:27

In a blatant steal from last month's thread:

So here we are, April already.

So for those who don't know the fledglings is a long running thread. Some of us seem clicky but that is because we have been chatting on these threads for nearly half a decade makes everyone feel old we quite like fresh blood though so feel free to jump in and join us.

Three key points to keep in mind:
(1)No perfectionism allowed - this is harder than you would imagine
(2)You are never behind just start where you are and anything you do is progress.
(3) It didn't get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy over night - accept it will take time to get on top of things and you will be happier.

If you are new then trying to spend 15mins decluttering and the babysteps is the most. Some of us Bitchy can have scary looking lists. One word of advice ignore them. Do what you can, anything is better then nothing, and don't judge yourself against others

Oh noSC it sounds as if you are having a really hard time. I hope your fil enjoyed his birthday as much as possible.

I'm just getting ready to go food shopping and then my plan for the day is to cook a roast and attack the garden whilst the sun is shining.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 13/04/2014 11:52

Busy week this week, starting today. Won't get a whole lot done, but will pop in. Hope everyone has a good week!

BitchyVstheUFOs · 13/04/2014 12:32

You too alice.

Taken a lazy day today. Need to be up and doing but meh. Ds has just had a cooked breakfast for lunch and I am about to eat an omlete whilst contemplating what I have no intention of doing but should, and what has to be done and i need to actually do.

MercuryRising · 13/04/2014 17:48

Bitchy I hope you enjoyed your lazy day.

Most of mine was spent popping to see family which was nice.
However, dp and I did get some flying done.
Ta da
Dp cut the grass
Dp de pood the garden
Dp deweeded the garden
Meal planning
Food shopping
Small pile of ironing done
Washload done and on the line
Roast cooked
Dp cleaned up afterwards

Not bad for a lazy Sunday.
Hope you have all had lovely days.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 13/04/2014 17:56

Ah. Lovely day. Bit of a drive to a birthday party, but enjoyable with good company. Visited DD and her family as well. All in all good day.

Tomorrow we'll be out all day with friends, so unlikely to get anything done. I don't even feel guilty about that. Grin

newlark · 13/04/2014 18:18

A bit of a quiet day for me apart from church but instead of spending the whole afternoon letting the dcs run riot while I enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee with the newspaper I let them run riot while I cleared out the top of my wardrobe. Have realised I have far too many pairs of jeans and jumpers so tomorrows mission is to filter some out for another charity shop bag.

BlueEyeshadow · 13/04/2014 21:05

Weird day here. Lots of stress, some fun. Been on the telly! Shock

Boys wanted to make a den in their room so dragged out some old sheets and found they'd gone all musty and yellow in the box in the airing cupboard. Bleugh. Now got to figure out if they can be salvaged or not.

Also, the house is an utter tip. Have just under a week to make it fit for my parents to visit and currently have an extraneous TV and table cluttering up the spare room as well as aforementioned sheets all over the landing. Sigh.

Keep forgetting the boys are not at school tomorrow and thinking it'll give me time to sort things then. Whoops! Grin

Sorry to hear of all the ill health and associated stress, SC - ((hugs))

MercuryRising · 13/04/2014 21:52

Why were you on telly blue ?

BlueEyeshadow · 13/04/2014 22:10

School campaign, yet again, Mercury. Can PM link to anyone interested.

CallingAllEngels · 14/04/2014 07:51

Morning all. Sorry have been AWOL.

Managed to declutter and sort out the loft a bit more yesterday with DH (MIL looked after DS for us - finding it impossible to sort things out with a toddler around, especially when stairs are involved!). A lot of bits were relocated to the cellar for storage. All the rets of the baby bits (clothes and toys etc) are in the same place in the loft. The room is actually roomy now and you can see the floor! Have a bag of toys for the nursery across the road if they want them - found so much stuff that BIL/SIL had given us but DS had never played with as he has TOO MUCH STUFF! and DH even went through a efw of his boxes and threw some stuff away.

sc sorry to read about the terrible time you and your family are having.

To do
Supermarket, take bottles for recycling
What's for dinner? Potato, Leek and Ham pie (Hairy Biker)
1 wash away
1 wash on
Tidy hotspot - lounge table
I have a photo album waiting to be made (from our summer holiday last year!)
Outside time for DS
Order HPTs
Check orchestra ticket availablity then contact people who are supposed to be going before I order them
Iron a few bits
If feeling brave sort out one of the bags of donated clothes I have for DS under the stairs.
Sort out toys in hallway (bags form BIL/SIL from a few months ago).

slackcabbage · 14/04/2014 08:13

Good morning - on dh's phone so short message but just wanted to say thanks very much for support. Dh getting better gradually so things are improving a bit! Not the best of holidays for dd but trying to do one small fun activity with her every day. Hope all of you are ok! Will be back after Easter.

Engels congrats on loft decluttering, very impressed at how you have kept at it

Congrats on telly appearance Blue!

Hope you were able to have a bit of r & r over weekend Mercury

Big feathery spring chick Easter waves to everyone else! Thanks

Last week of school here. I NEED a holiday!

dizzyday07 · 14/04/2014 11:59

DD and I are back from North of the Border. Glad I reserved seats both ways as the trains were rammed! The masterclass session was good on Saturday, and it was only during part of it when I wondered why I was getting tired that it twigged that it was a 50m pool we were swimming up and down Blush. We enthusiastically cheered on all the swimmers later at the championship finals and rewarded ourselves with an Italian meal afterwards.

DH had been busy whilst we were away and fitted digging up some turf at the front and mowing the lawn around going to cricket nets and having a curry and beer with the neighbours!

Yesterday Ta Da

  • Bags unpacked
  • Laundry load in and hung to dry
  • D/W loaded and turned on
  • Shirt for DH ironed

Today Ta Da

  • Laundry load in and hung out to dry
  • Played online scrabble with DD

I need to drag her out to get some food bought so BBL

newlark · 14/04/2014 14:19

a short Ta Da

27 fling thing in our "dining" room (I actually did a mission!)
2 loads of laundry done and hung up
took ds to holiday swimming course

BitchyVstheUFOs · 14/04/2014 14:20

Morning.
Doing a very good impression of a ghostly zombie today. And tbh really not feeling that great either. But nothing a good night's sleep or 6 won't fix.

Very small ta da list.
work

Ds has gone out with DM, no idea where they are or when they are back so going to take the opportunity to have a quick nap. BBL when i should actually have a ta da list because there is laundry and pizza making needing doing.
