April's Fledgling Fliers: there's no fooling the Fat Fairy this month.

In a blatant steal from last month's thread:

So here we are, April already.

So for those who don't know the fledglings is a long running thread. Some of us seem clicky but that is because we have been chatting on these threads for nearly half a decade makes everyone feel old we quite like fresh blood though so feel free to jump in and join us.

Three key points to keep in mind:
(1)No perfectionism allowed - this is harder than you would imagine
(2)You are never behind just start where you are and anything you do is progress.
(3) It didn't get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy over night - accept it will take time to get on top of things and you will be happier.

If you are new then trying to spend 15mins decluttering and the babysteps is the most. Some of us Bitchy can have scary looking lists. One word of advice ignore them. Do what you can, anything is better then nothing, and don't judge yourself against others

Ta for the postcard Toffee, glad you're having fun.

Snaffes rock from Bitchy

Am currently on the way home from London and not looking forward to the state of the house, getting back to school stress etc. Still had a good few days though.

MercuryRising · 10/04/2014 22:39

Reasonably productive day although soup making, poo picking and car hoovering have been moved onto tomorrows to do list.

I spent 4 hours at the library and managed to write the grand total of 800 words but I guess it is better than nothing Hmm I will have to have another go tomorrow.

I'm going to refuel on some holiday rock and get some sleep. Night fledglings Smile

BitchyVstheUFOs · 11/04/2014 00:21

Right i am finally home. I should be doing huge amounts of stuff tomo. but need to run an errand in the city. I am absolutely shattered so I do feel that perhaps fri might be a write off in the afternoon and then sat will be busy day. who knows. Have to do washing tomo otherwise no clean clothes. As it is i will be wearing noticebly very different socks. Must must must crawl into bed and try not to crash. night night

dizzyday07 · 11/04/2014 02:05

Quiet few days here at Chez Dizzy doing only the basics (food, washing up, odd load of laundry) though I added taking DD to the cinema and swim club to yesterday's Ta Da list.

She and I are off to Glasgow tomorrow today to take part in a swim masterclass with Keri-Anne Payne and watch the British Swim Championships, and as I can't guarantee that DH won't invite the neighbours in whilst we are away, I incentivised DD with a trip to the park if she helped with the housework Grin

My Ta Da

  • Booked taxi to station
  • Cleaned bathrooms x 4
  • RR dining room, kitchen and utility
  • Watered veggies
  • Ironed clothes we need for weekend
  • Put dry washing away
  • Cleaned cooker top
  • Washed pots and shined sink
  • Cleaned utility sink (that has been needed doing for weeks) Blush
  • Disinfected kitchen bin and food recycling tub
  • Swept and washed kitchen floor
  • Printed off travel/hotel/event info
  • Packed bags

DD's Ta Da

  • Hoovered upstairs, down the stairs and downstairs
  • RR study and lounge
  • Violin practice

Jealous of your seaside trip Toffee but we may try a day at the beach next week and thanks for the rock Bitchy

MercuryRising · 11/04/2014 08:59

Taking the dc to the farm at lunchtime but before that I need to:
Make beds
Check dds hair for nits Sad
Hang out washing
Reload wm
Empty dw
Reload dw
Wipe kitchen sides
Rr living room
Bath and dress us all
Fold dcs bed sheets and put away
Dust and hoover throughout
Collect parcels from post office
Pack lunches to take with us
Pop to shops and get lunch bits

I have two hours - best get off of here

LilllyLovesLife · 11/04/2014 09:07

Jealous of Toffee on her holiday.

I am so tired this morning and trying to work out a plan for today. Will start off with a simple list for this morning and go from there as may take the kids to soft play or something, depending on DS as he was sick last night so need to work out if it's an infectious bug or if he had just had too much milk straight after dinner etc (He is quite sicky anyway but this was a lot of vomit!)

To do

  • Hang up washing on line
  • Empty dishwasher and reload
  • Phone Aquababies to arrange DS swimming classes bought from littlebird before they run out
  • Clear dining table yet again
  • bump stuff for sale on facebook
  • If we do go out, drop off stuff to my Mums house for her to car boot
  • Phone hospital for next antenatal appointment
  • Clean Sofas and take a photo to list for sale.
elliepac · 11/04/2014 10:26

Occasional lurker here - trying to make some slow progress with my house which is horribly cluttered and hard to clean because of all the stuff. I've tried to follow flylady on and off and do the occasional mission (though have given up on emails as they were overwhelming). I've given myself a kick start by getting a cleaner for a couple of one-off cleans to motivate me and have cleared my desk for the first time in months (though there is still a small stack of papers on the floor to sort and file). Will try and keep up with you and not slip behind again! Every little job done is a step in the right direction...

Blueandwhitelover · 11/04/2014 12:49

Paperwork done!!!!
Early morning run walk done
Washing on-I have two Louis Vuitton style fakebags that my son bought in Tunisia that were horribly stiff, have put them in the washing machine with some towels to see if they soften up a bit.
Cauliflower soup made and divided into portions for freezer.

To do
sort out wardrobe

BitchyVstheUFOs · 11/04/2014 15:07

ta da
clothes shopping at the big shopping centre near the city
catch up with a good friend
1st load washing on
Sort the crafting stuff littering my room
Put away the shopping.
15mins general decluttering in my room
release giant fucking wasp from the office how the fuck did it get in in the first place Shock[fear]
Coffee to steady nerves.

Would it be wrong to just put pjs on and say fuck it, not going out again today?

BitchyVstheUFOs · 11/04/2014 16:18

Actually i decided it isn't wrong and am giving up and just going to bed. Will see you tomo, hopefully with enough energy to kick ass on my room and ds' room to the point where it is possible to function in them. Night.

BitchyVstheUFOs · 11/04/2014 17:20

I hate wasps. 2 needing dealing with already. 1 was allowed to escape the other is sat in a vacum jar. Jury is out as to whether this is the first wasp returned or actually as second wasp. Going back to sleep now. hopefully will stay asleep this time. Fingers crossed for no more wasps!

newlark · 11/04/2014 18:10

I've just started sorting out my wardrobe with the help of one of these to get all the bits and pieces off the floor (I now want to buy the rest of the range). Found lots of little things like this so am glad I've hoovered before my jumpers get eaten Shock

madwomanbackintheattic · 12/04/2014 01:47

Inspirational messages? Is that new???
(It's nc Wurst)
Mad busy for a couple of days, but back to get organized for the weekend.

More crappy phone books
Sell cookies
Dd2 race day (dh)
Clear ironing mountain
Banking (GGC)
Banking (Adaptive)
Banking (horse)
Vacuum main floor
Clean wooden floors
Shovel snow
Bath dogs
Cook dinner

I am toying with getting everyone to follow the baby steps (except the ones I don't do, like post-it's, and (apparently) inspirational messages)

Anyone tried?

elliepac · 12/04/2014 09:31

Morning all. I am now happily ensconced in Filey although the weather is a bit dodgy.

A very quiet day on here yesterday although I think there are a lot of us away on holiday.

Hello newlark, good luck with the decluttering.

bitchy good luck with the wasps.

madwoman good luck with getting everyone to follow the babysteps. Inspirational messages is not new, we just never pay attention to it. I am going to hunt for one.

Your babystep for today is deleting emais. If you have listened to us you won't have any to delete so an easy day Smile

No mission as it is the weekend. Today is all about Family Fun. Have a good day everyone!

BitchyVstheUFOs · 12/04/2014 09:59

Morning.
The early night thing was more than a bit of a fail. No more wasps yet, but after the 2nd one woke me up I then couldn't sleep. So it was 3am before I was tire enough to fall asleep again. Wasn't really very productive either as I mostly got lost on the internet. Did do a little bit of work on the blened blanket but I have so much that needs to be done and really cba to do anything.

Ta da
sort washing
1st loads on to wash and dry

Just considering if I can be arsed to move again to get coffee or not.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 12/04/2014 10:02

ooooh Bitchy sympathies on the wasps. I'm allergic so very edgy around them. I have had more than my share of bees/wasps in the garden lately, so I'm on a mission to clear out all dandelions and unnecessary weeds. Spent about 30 minutes this morning ripping out as much as I could. Major difference that I hope will mean less of them floating about.

ta da
usual morning routines
second load of laundry in washer, first load in dryer
washing up done
30 minutes of garden work - big progress!
stripped beds

to do
bake brownies
more garden work (possibly)
put clothing away
sweep and mop kitchen
sweep dining room

BitchyVstheUFOs · 12/04/2014 12:11

You need a wasp trap then Alice Take old jam jar, use nail to punch some holes in the lid (wasp sized), add a little water to left over jam (if just finished) or to some sugar in bottom of jar. Screw lid on. Leave in garden. catches loads. we have a real problem with wasps as they get drunk on the sycamore tree sap and literally fall out of the trees like drunk grumpy bullets of pain. Works a treat. we tend to have about 3 or 4 in various places (mostly underneath the bloody trees)

ta da
Sort washing
3rd load washing in machine
3rd load in dryer
A bit of crocheting
remove plants from ds' room and put back in bathroom
put bin liners in ds' bin and bathroom bin
remove towels from bathroom
check calendar for info
chase up half term dates
Folding
ironing
eat a fried breakfast and drink coffee.

Currently contemplating whether or not I can be bothered to go grab a shower or if I will just sit and crochet for half an hour first. Need to clear out my car in a bit too. Yeah I know wrong day but didn't get chance to sort it yesterday, too tired Hmm

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 12/04/2014 12:44

oooh thanks for that... will do that

BlueEyeshadow · 12/04/2014 16:28

So far have done:
Shopping
Gardening
Made scones with DSs
Eaten scones
Started preparing dinner
Tried to stop boys killing each other/DH killing them

Need to do:
Finish rest of dinner prep
Hoover downstairs
Tidy downstairs
Sort laundry
Find temp home for old TV

Friends coming for dinner later so want to be relatively civilised by then...

PeanutPatty · 12/04/2014 16:44

Hello all,

Struggling to find my FlyLady Mojo. I always get a bit down and grumpy post holiday and hit a bit of a dark patch.

Kicked myself up the arse a bit today and achieved a couple of things but feel guilty for stuff I haven't done. Should have done some stuff with the Minis and aside from footie up the park and a bit of reading not done anything. The attempt at reading started off well until Mini1 declared everything purple and would not stop pointing at bits in the book whilst repeating Purple Purple Purple. So I gave up at that point and put the TV on. Sad

Ta Da's
Dogs walked
Minis fed, dressed, watered and exercised
Floors swept
Show rack sorted - non regular shoes put away and all mud removed from floor underneath
DW emptied and refilled
One laundry load done
Half on line and half in TD
Half on line brought in
Ironing pile established
Dry laundry on airer put away/added to ironing pile

To Do
Loads but I won't be doing anymore than the essentials - heavy head and weary eyes in situ

Hope everyone is well and Flying high. Hope the school holidays are being enjoyed and not overly stressful.

elliepac · 12/04/2014 17:22

Evening all. No flying to report . Am on holiday so have been to Pickering for the day incorporating picnic, museum, country park and ice cream. Am pooped now though as this is first day i have done quite a bit of walking since the op.

Lazy evening ahead.

Have you all seen this MN has been hacked

ToffeeWhirl · 12/04/2014 19:13

Ooer, WhoKnows, have just seen the hacking news Shock.

Still on holiday. Did some swishing and swiping today and also did a mammoth washing up session after a family meal. Apart from that, no Flying at all, which is blissful.

DS1 and DH are joining us tomorrow, assuming DH can manhandle DS1 into the car Hmm.
