Anybody want to join me in a mega, whole house declutter?

I am desperate to have a clean and tidy home. It's always ruined my life and I always feel very lonely, partly because I can never have anybody over without a week or so notice to clean up! I am fed up of being like this and want to make a change for good. I know that the biggest step is to declutter, as it will make it so much easier to keep tidy.

I have delcuttered lots of times before, and I then end up filling it up again! I don't want to do this again! I want this to be the last time!!

Anybody up for joining me?

I have already done my girls room (They share a small double and it was always so full that they couldn't ever have space to play in it!). It is so much easier now, I finished it about a week ago but have actually kept it tidy!

I am now moving onto my Son's room. It's a TEENY box room with just a cotbed and one chest of drawers in, no spare space and I have an extra baby to fit in their soon as we are expecting again. Baby will sleep in our room for as long as possible but no idea where the baby's clothes etc will go! So iv culled his clothes and now have 2 spare drawers, and got an under bed drawer now which I can use although not really space to pull it out!

Anyway, would anybody like to join me in my mission? We could support each other and keep each other going? I have also strarted looking into flylady and hope to use some bits from there, but not follow it fully as I like to do my own thing a bit.

Havebeen busy & ill. Turns out I'm now decluttering my throat of bacteria with ABs. Nice.

House is chaos. Ds1 away for the weekend so hope to feel better and get stuff sorted with only (ha!) 2 DC in the house.

JKSLtd · 25/05/2014 21:17

ABs doing their job thankfully.

Been in the garden (front & back) all day, dug up tonnes of pampas grass, loads of weeds (have bindweed everywhere) and planted 3 new plants from B&Q.

Also acquired a sun lounger Grin

ChaffinchOfDoom · 27/05/2014 20:44

pampas grass is evil, well done.

Have cleaned the bathroom

JKSLtd · 27/05/2014 20:55

Uncovered more of the damn stuff. But then it started raining.

Sun lounger looking sorry for itself Grin

Have rearranged xbox/cables.
Have acquired a free computer desk for ds1's computer and tidied the corner.
Have also managed to get his computer at least part working again.

JKSLtd · 27/05/2014 22:38

I think he's been secretly stockpiling!!

Also forgot to mention. I treated myself to a pile of new bras & pjs and have chucked the old greying ancient ones that weren't fit to be worn/seen.
Bhs - a high st secret, according to a recent article, great for certain things. And they had a sale on Grin

JKSLtd · 30/05/2014 09:46

Have tidied & cleaned one of dh's wardrobes.

Have 'filed' an awful lot of paper, sorry artwork!
And sorted out colouring books.
Onto paint and playdoh plus accessories now.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/05/2014 14:15

hehehe
I filed our playdoh a-top the fridge about 2yrs ago!

it's sad as you want to keep + cherish every scribble they make, but there's really no room. Mine have a baby file each, theyre all bursting so cant really keep anything else... has to be filed under R for Recycle Grin

FiloPasty · 30/05/2014 14:21

It looks like I'm a bit late to the party but I really need to join this thread!
I need to take action and stop being lazy/procrastinating!
I need to get on top on my mountain of ironing and washing first but then am keen to do a room by room plan of attack.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/05/2014 14:25

I have a list of everything that I need to do on WORD and I love highlighting each bit I do. It's slowly turning yellow
also doing the swap thread on here, and major charity shop drop-offs... it's ace to have s p a c e to think/ be able to swish coathangers around!

JKSLtd · 30/05/2014 18:30

Have tidied/organised/chucked out x lots.

It is all much better and the recycling people come tomorrow so that's good riddance Grin

Also managed to put up and take down the new gazebo I bought last week (for summer/camping). And I've found an Ikea bag for it all and put in the shed.

And pretty much finished the laundry too.

I need a few of these at home days every now and then- more often than they happen really.

Need to drop some cakes to neighbour, get 2 DC to bed then open the wine Smile

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/05/2014 18:42

Cake & Wine

well deserved!

JKSLtd · 31/05/2014 11:43

Last minute friends coming tonight- have set up air beds and moved stuff around. Have to say it still doesn't look like ive got rid of anything.

Luckily these friends have an absolute houseful so they make me look great!

ChaffinchOfDoom · 31/05/2014 16:36

JKSLtd · 02/06/2014 12:55

They were very complimentary Smile

Today is just a get back on top of things day. Posted birthday card. Lots of laundry. Rehoming toys scattered all over the house.

Aiming to get some more pampas grass out but we'll see.

JKSLtd · 02/06/2014 17:22

JKSLtd · 04/06/2014 19:57

Friend just gave me 2 huge sacks of boys clothes. Sigh.

I am grateful honest. Just sat here looking at them wondering how on earth to fit them in the boys wardrobes. Some serious culling needed I think!
