Mad Fledglings March through the Spring cleaning

BitchytheGreat · 28/02/2014 20:40

So here we are, March already.

So for those who don't know the fledglings is a long running thread. Some of us seem clicky but that is because we have been chatting on these threads for nearly half a decade makes everyone feel old we quite like fresh blood though so feel free to jump in and join us.

Three key points to keep in mind:
(1)No perfectionism allowed - this is harder than you would imagine
(2)You are never behind just start where you are and anything you do is progress.
(3) It didn't get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy over night - accept it will take time to get on top of things and you will be happier.

If you are new then trying to spend 15mins decluttering and the babysteps is the most. Some of us Bitchy can have scary looking lists. One word of advice ignore them. Do what you can, anything is better then nothing, and don't judge yourself against others.

Can I just show my proud face? DD is in yr2 and her teacher told me she is a level 3b in literacy for school. :) She is a 2b/2a for maths. I knew she was good with reading/writing but not that good. They expect her to be a 3a by the end of yr2!!

BitchytheGreat · 05/03/2014 19:08

Popping in quickly tonight as I'm shattered and seriously considering heading for bed. Sticking to routine going well so far, I've managed to do at least something every day, even with a stupidly late night at work yesterday. Had the day at home today so managed to catch up a bit

ta da
2 loads laundry washed, dried and put away
Room rescue on conservatory of doom
Cleaned bathroom
Quick Hoover round
Decluttered baking sheets shelf
Cleaned washing machine
10 mins hacking back garden
4 bags junk to tip
Repeat prescriptions ordered
Grocery shop

to do
Tidy up 2 lots of meeting minutes for sending out. Can't see that happening tonight though.
Prep bags and clothes for the morning

Night all

BlueEyeshadow · 05/03/2014 21:53

Evening all.

Fairly quiet day today so took advantage to enjoy the sunshine. Also had parents' evening tonight and both boys doing very well so that's good. Have found a blue and yellow bucket and added dinosaurs to it. Boys unfeasibly excited about Book Day. Hope it's not going to be too much of a let down for them - don't know what they think is going to happen!

Big waves to everyone and hugs to Thinking. Night!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/03/2014 22:25

Evening all,

Thinking - sorry you are having a rough week. I work very part time (10 hours a week) and I really struggle to keep a small 3 bed house and 2 school age DCs too, I think there is a lot of truth in that saying about the work expanding to fit the time available. Hope your DD is OK tonight.

Eustacia and Toffee - well done to your DCs on their good reading and writing.

Well, I must tell you about my Lent resolution. As well as giving up crisps along with DH, I was struck by one of my friends decision to give up FB for Lent. I don't spend that much time on there, but I do on MN. I thought of giving it up but I rely on this thread and the Special Needs section too much, so my resolution is to give up on the Most Active button. I can check email, FB and TIO (am on a couple of other long-runners), plus go to any sections except Chat and AIBU for specific info, but am not going to hit Most Active. And I am going to get off my arse and tidy instead.

So, today, been at work, then picked up the DCs and spent a nice hour or so pottering in the garden and decluttering the patio. I also decluttered a kitchen cupboard and a big pile of junk that has been sitting in a basket at the bottom of the stairs. Took DD to Brownies. Sat and watched Outnumbered properly without flicking idly through MN on the Ipad, that has got to be an improvement. I'm off to bed now. Night night.

thinking101 · 06/03/2014 08:56

thanks who knows and bitchy

No flying here today DD still woke up with a raginh temperature. If it has not gown down by lunchtime - when she will have had 2 doses of antibiotics and paracetamol then Im taking her back in.

Sorry to run...

P.S. be proud beam, we don't enough for fear of being smug. Are you in a grammar school area, you may wish to consider your DD for 11+, a whole new ball game.

thinking101 · 06/03/2014 08:57

The P.S. was for Eustacia and now I realised ive missed toffee DC off. I will catch up!!

BitchytheGreat · 06/03/2014 09:49

My plans for the day have been messed up by people. Grumpy people who are huffing and puffing and generally being a right royal pita. HmmAngry

Currently reconsidering how to work today so that:

  1. I don't kill anyone
  2. Everything that HAS to get done, gets done
  3. I can avoid grumpy people
  4. I feel like i have achieved stuff.

Bitchy oh sure, make the rest of us look bad. Yeesh.

I won't get much done today - I'm reeling from the cost of the car repair. £427. and five pence. Shock sigh. I can't even say I'm really shocked, as the service alone was £170, and I knew it needed brake work both front and rear. Still. major major ouch!

Need to meal plan tonight for the next week... My brain is fried.

BitchytheGreat · 06/03/2014 16:32

what can i say? pissed off bitchy is a productive bitchy. Also there is nothing so productive as trying to keep busy so that you can avoid a job you hate... Blush Although i have mostly done hoovering the car out. Need to find the special bit for the hoover so I can finish off. Then the next job is a tub of soapy water to clean stuff in the car before I can wash the upolstery which is vile. Long car journeys and small kids
