extra Cake for arti.hope you are feeling better now!
I got masses done Wednesday then was like a zombie by mid pm!

yesterday was stunning-warm and sunny and as the weatherman informs us it will be stormy by midweekend I bunked off flying and spent a blissful morning walking through local nature reserve enjoying the sun on my face and marvelling at the sight of butterflies at end October!Shock

todays ta dahs
-located few tins per child for harvest festival assemblies
-fed cats
-washed kitchen floor
-fed zoolets
-made lunches
-cleaned bathroom
-washing on
-plaits or little zoo
-collected neighbours child,school run
-my breakfast
-washing into dryer
-more washing on
-tidy my room
-sorted a quarter of dds room
-hovered stairs
-bit internetting

I just have the surfaces to wipe and pop bins out before go get kids.friday night is dvd night in zoo house and as wind is getting up and clouds darkening I think a snuggle on sofa and dvd followed by a warming vegetable cobbler will be just the ticket!

Hello?

Anyone here?

AdoraBell · 07/11/2013 10:56

Hello Scout

I was looking yesterday but couldn't find the thread. How are you?

Not much going on here, housework has taken a back seat To colds/virus, but on the mend now so should be able To Get back on track. In theory.

Scout19075 · 07/11/2013 11:13

We leave on Wednesday to start our vacation but don't actually fly until Saturday. Tuesday will be busy with swimming, a bus ride to YOUT and a pub dinner with an American friend who will be over in YOUT for work. So really I have from now until Monday to sort things out.

I have lists.

And yet I still feel like I'm drowning.

AdoraBell · 07/11/2013 12:58

Take 1 list at a time Scout. Remember, baby stepsWink

I've sauted 2 red peppers. So infrecuente To find them not shriveled up here that I bought 3 just because the actually fresh. Going To freeze Those and stuff the other for DD's dinner. I don't eat them so I'll have stuffed courgette.

DW needs emptying and dogs need filling up.

AdoraBell · 07/11/2013 21:10

Ta Dah's

DW Emptied and refilled
Dogs filled up and Watered
Fridge cleared of lurkers
Rubbish out for collection
Errands run, resultante in another for next weekHmm
DDs colected and friends DC dropped at home
Post school snack eaten

Still To do

Clean dog penn
Dinner
Harangue (SP) DDs To do a load of washing
Wash my hair.

Scout19075 · 08/11/2013 10:58

I have been trying to do one list at a time. The problem is, though, I keep creating other lists (like, what to do before we leave, what to pack, etc.) and I start panicking as I look at all of the lists.

ARGH!

Plus we're trying to sort out SB's presents -- we buy some of them in the States as you either can't get them here in the UK so therefore different & special or they're just plain ol' cheaper over there (last year we got him some Brio, that we gifted throughout the year, that if we bought here it would have been about £500/£600 and we got it for the equivalent of about £100/£125). So we're going armed with a list of what we want to look for and we've started comparison shopping (so add a few more lists to my list of lists!).

Plus SB wants to play games, do puzzles/jigsaws together, etc.. I'm not begrudging him the wants/desires/needs and we do play a lot of things but sometimes the asking is right when I've got my cleaning/decluttering groove on and it's painful to stop. I do, though, because he's four and I need and want to play with him. But sometimes just want to attack the house.

AdoraBell · 08/11/2013 14:29

Okay, play for X time and then have SmallBoy join in the game of dusting, or wiping, or whatever else he can manage along side you.

I agree wrt the shopping, Brio is even more expensive here than the UK, so I'd say that list needs priority.

My Ta Dah's

Up and family breakfasted
packed lunch made and packed
Family shooed out the door
WM on twice
Pilates
Catching up on MN

AdoraBell · 12/11/2013 21:33

How are you doing Scout?

Not much going on here as DD1 is laid low with the latest bug. She was off school yesterday and only went in today for an exam, then came home again at 11.30. Not sure if she'll be fit for school tomorrow, but I need to get cracking as estate agents are bringing someone round tomorrow afternoon.

liveinazoo · 13/11/2013 14:06

hi guys!sorry for the absence-I powered up netbook and then left on the arm sofa whilst answered the door and scoutcat knocked it down rubbing against it and it fell and broke

ive had to wait and see if mendable

scout I cant believe SB is 4!!!-little zoo had her 6th bday on 29th octwhere does the time go?

adora hope dd is feeling better.weve had a round of colds with earache-dd2 has had it as has ds.just waiting to see if lil zoo is smacked down with it..i hate earaches.hot ater bottles and paracetamol are all I know but they aren't always that helpful and I hate the crying when I have nothing else to suggest and gp says no fever,no infection so just ride it outSad

on flying front I confess what with a birthday and Halloweenin the holiday and no thread to check in with my routines have fell by the wayside and im struggling in a bearpit againSadSad

I shined my sink last night in prep for returning here today but I confess I have an overflowing laundry basket and the place looks more bombsite that home!i need some serious pointy sticks and encouragemen tto reclaim it and then get the routine good and strong so when we reach silly season it will not all unravel and I spend til mid jan trying to find homes for the toy overflow and get rid all the recycling....ive had words with dp and this year he has reluctantly agreed to a budgetwith me having to take final responsibility for the items santa chooses form a huge list he has been amassing in internet research.thats going to be difficult but bette than the deluge of gifts and the added advantage he doesn't spend onths working overtime to pay for it all!
hope you are all ok

back tomorrow hoping for some support

Scout19075 · 14/11/2013 14:21

We leave Saturday. We can't find SB's passport so have spent several days ripping the pit apart and panicking then doing all of the things required for an emergency one. The Americans require full attendance for children (children and both parents) whenever issuing a passport. MrScout is running a two day training course so completed the form saying he gives permission blah blah blah. SB left at half crack of stupid for the Big Smoke and spent the morning in the American Services department of the embassy. My people are wonderful and I love them!

AdoraBell · 14/11/2013 14:50

Aw Zoo that's rotten. Hope he feels better soon.

On Tuesday I had To take DD in for an exam that was mega important and couldn't be rescheduled. This school okay it was teachers but they worked at the school has been so shitty about abcense that I decided if they can stand they Go in then it's up To the school To say they should be at home. So, when I collected her at 11.30 the nurse told me 'she's very ill' I smiled sweetly and said yes, I know, that's why she's only staying long enough do the exam.

She is feelling a bit better now but has come out in a rash. I know a few others have had a rash with this thing so I'm just continueing with lot's of fluids and rest. It took me 3 weeks, and DH had 3 days in Bed out cold, so I'm not expecting her To spring back quickly.

On the Ta Dah's front, yesterday I whizzed around at half speed prepping for a Viewing. The woman likes the house so now we just wait and see.

Today, breakfast and DD2's packed lunch sorted
Dogs shuffled around in the garden and Houdini showered as she was a but whiffy. Snacks, drinks and cuddles administered for DD1
Folded and put away sheets, towels and undies

Still To do

Email school secretary, but I've lost the email address , Doh!
Organice dosh To pay for school tríp
Hand over school tríp payment when I collect DD2
General food, drinks and chilling before I prep dinner.

Glad you got DP To agree To scaling back on the Christmas spending, some people Go a bit loco with it don't they? We're also not spending much this year.

AdoraBell · 14/11/2013 21:40

School tríp paíd for.

Emailed school secretary 4 times and each one came back as undeliverable.

Just need To do dinner and Get dogs fed now.
