Scout19075 · 16/09/2013 12:59

BlackCat! Hello!

educatingarti · 16/09/2013 13:10

Hello everyone.

Also on dinner break here!

I've been a lot at sixes and sevens recently. My Dad died rather suddenly on 3rd of September. It is his funeral on Friday. I seem to have progressed from the "can't think straight or do anything" stage to the merely "totally wiped out and exhausted" stage, but as you can imagine I'm not getting too much housework done.

I've got loads of RL support which is great. I had to cancel lots of tutoring last week because my brain just wouldn't work (the perils of being self-employed!) but I'm slowly getting back to it now. I think next week will be really hard though - coping with the aftermath of funeral plus a full week of work!

BlackCatinChaos · 16/09/2013 13:17

Hi Scout and Arti

So sorry to hear that Arti. All I can say is give yourself time. Grief can be a very long process to go through.
You may remember I have been through it too both with my dad when I was younger and last year my step dad so I will kind of have an understanding of what you are feeling Sad

I'm sorry to hear your news, arti. I echo what others said -- come in for a chat, even if you're not flying.

Oh zoo, I remember going off to Uni and the tears. I'm sure your DD will be just fine.

Yay to Cats for painting.

We've been out and about for most of the last two days. I've still done jobs and bits but it just didn't feel worthy of posting.

Not sure how today is going to go. We're still in our PJs, curled up watching the Octonauts, but I have already done a bunch of emails, calendar notices, menu planning & grocery list making, put one Christmas pudding (of two that each batch of mix makes) in the slow cooker to steam, labelled yesterday's mincemeat and stored the jars and thought about what else I want to achieve today and over the weekend.

I'm tired. I have a sinus headache (SB gave me his cold in another form, I think).

liveinazoo · 21/09/2013 15:08

went to say goodbye to dd1 this morning, frantically loading the last of the boxes into her boyfriends car now hers is full to capacity!
it was very emotional.zoolets made cards and decided to take the only tomato that grew on our plant for her to eat as it has now ripened.she dutifully ate it.laughed at some cards.cried at little zoos "good luck at uni.hope you make some friens at big scool"
I cried a bit when we left, lots since we got home.we probably wont see her again til xmas as she has managed tot ransfer her part time job at hobby craft to where she is studying so even during holidays she will have work commitments holding her thereSad

it all feels very final and im not ready to accept shes a full fledged grown up

I can't imagine the day mine leave. Seems like a long way off yet. ds is nearly 10. I'm off to see dd teacher on Monday so will be interesting to see how she is settling into school life. She still has her funny little ways at home. She has imaginary friends and sensitive hearing.

Sounds like you have been busy zoo

I have in a funny kind of way but not all housework related. been outta the house doing various things. Had dentist Friday and been suffering since in a "can't eat much" kind of way. Having things like soup and mousse (soft foods).

Really fancy a drink Wine but I don't think I will have much. Only got the strong stuff in at the mo. (vodka or bacardi) --need to stock up-- Grin

AdoraBell · 22/09/2013 15:03

Zoo glad you all gave DD1 such a good send off, love the tomatoeGrin

I also can't imagine the day mine leave but that's okay because they want to live with me forever.
