Is June the new January? - the Fledgling Flyers are doing their flaming best

Welcome old and new fledglings to the June Fledgling FLYers thread! Smile

Thank you very much to castlelough for leading us expertly through May - I shall try not to be too haphazard with June, although I make no promises Wink

If you're overwhelmed by clutter and general household grub then join us as we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system or languish in the naughty corner hoping to do better tomorrow Grin

As usual, we will be following the Flylady three-pronged approach:

  1. Baby-steps (a daily step to establish routines)
  2. Then baby-steps + 15 mins daily decluttering
  3. (And once decluttered) babysteps + daily missions and maybe even detailed cleaning in the weekly zones

For more information have a look here, although to avoid a cluttered inbox, we advise not signing up to the Flylady emails. The basic principle is little and often and don't worry about perfection (no chance of that here!).

Don't worry if you are behind; just jump right back in and it will all come around next month again anyway!

All the links for the babysteps and missions will be posted here every day and we'll all be here to cheer each other on and chat our way through the month.

Not much cleaning or decluttering done today. As I've been on a school trip for most of the day! So straight to the naughty corner bar for me for some much needed, if only virtual, Wine!

Will get back to flying tomorrow.

I don't even want to think about the calories on my food. But I like the sound of Trazzles' lunch! Grin

CHBitchy your DS sounds just like mine! Have very little hope to get them to help unless I pay them!

Swanhilda · 13/06/2013 22:56

as usual, I have done virtually nothing useful, but have taken loads of exercise, final bits for dd's suitcase and ds2's wellies (the most ££££ wellies ever - Black's was a mistake, but nowhere else had his size)
assembled two lunches for tomorrow
several frustrating hours packing suitcase with ds2 and chasing him up and down stairs, and endlessly switching telly off Grin
Guides for dd
bought a memory stick for dd at short notice
coffee with friend in morning

Ds1 has decided he's a popstar and is endlessly practising for Britain's Got Talent (for such a shy boy I don't hold out much hope) The latest thing he has refused to go to is a picnic which might have some 13 year old girls attending (shock horror)

Toffee my cleaner is coming tomorrow; it's a relief to see you do rather what I do, rush around trying to sort out each room before she sets foot in it. After a morning of employing the cleaner I am always exhausted, and sadly an awful lot of stuff gets stuffed in drawers so she can negotiate round it...Which means there is always even more to sort out when she's gone.

SC I hope it has all gone alright, and you are not rushing to do anything before you are ready.

Diet has gone alright, although I think 5 slices of crispy bacon even on a low carb diet might be pushing the boundaries...Blush I ate 3 large new potatoes for supper too, but potatoes are full of vitamins aren't they Wink

Waves back at Fudge - and I agree about the fifteen minutes. I am going to have to catch up tomorrow. Have spent today chasing my tail, and yesterday DH and I had bloodwork done in hospital, then I went back to school to take my girls camogie team to their semi-final (which they won Grin), then cooked dinner, cleaned up etc, MFP, exercise, then fell asleep after DH left for work at 8. Woke up when he rang at half 10, and crawled into bed - with the best of intentions to drop in here for a catch up!

Will catch up with personals over the weekend but SC - best of luck with your procedure Flowers and Mercury - could I please borrow your DH?!!!!!

Nite nite all!

MercuryRising · 14/06/2013 04:28

Castle believe me dp is not all good. He never cleans the bathroom or picks up the dog poo in the garden but he does seem to have upped his game as far as other housework goes. Maybe he is trying to make up for his overzealous decluttering last week Grin

CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 04:38

morning mercury you are an early bird this morning.

MercuryRising · 14/06/2013 06:15

Morning Bitchy Smile Im just off to bed I worked 6-6 last night. You on the other hand are up ridiculously early! Are you always an early riser? If I get woken before 6 I struggle to function. Im leaving you a strong Brew as I suspect you may need it. Have a good day.

Trazzletoes · 14/06/2013 06:36

New dishwasher is coming today! We got it from a website I haven't used before ( asim boycotting Currys) so hoping it all goes ok!

Food shop also coming this morning.

DD is at home today so I anticipate zero flying! But I had to order some new shoes for her stupidly narrow feet last week so hoping to get to town to collect them.

J also has some new medicine - twice a day for 2 out of every 4 weeks for 6 months... It is the horriblest, faffiest crap. You have to wear gloves, soak capsules, cut ends off, squeeze them on a spoon (x 4!) and then quickly (before it degrades) mix with yoghurt and convince him to take it. It took me 15 minutes last night! And the capsules are right slippery little things. We even have a cytotoxic waste bin for the used capsules and kitchen roll!

CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 07:25

Tbh Mercury I hadn't been able to sleep. Strong coffee much appreciate this morning. Rather a lot to do and feeling more then I little bit rough.

trazzles that sounds like a bit of a nightmare. I suspect you will be a po at it by the time you get to the end by my experience of capsules is that they like to ping across the kitchen. And I am sure your ones are the sort you really don't want to be pinging.

CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 07:26

sorry missing words *get to the end of it. In my experience...

That make it make any more sense or would not be just a good time to go find coffee?

LillethTheCat · 14/06/2013 07:35

Just quickly coming on to tell you that for the first time in a long time I'm less than 11 stone Grin well 10 stone 13.6 so near enough to 11, but still less

CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 07:54

Well done Lilleth. Under 11 stone is my current target I seems to hoover around 11 stone whatever works out to be 73kg 6 ish?

Trazzletoes · 14/06/2013 08:16

Well done lilleth!!! I would love to be below 11stone but I'm not certain it's biologically possible Grin for me anyway!

Before having Joe and with a ton of hard work I got to 11 st 2... That's my current ultimate goal but right now less than 14(!!!) stone is my goal.

DorisShutt · 14/06/2013 08:50

Wooooohoooooooo!!!!

Can I report that I'm now below 12 stone, even with the icky bug that I've had?! Grin

I'm aiming for um... 9 and a half to 10 (coz of my norks) so only 2 stones to go - I think if I get there by Christmas I'll be delighted.

I've decided (gulp!) to go for the C25K once I'm back from holiday (and sod what DH says) as technically all I'll need is new trainers and a holder for my ipod/phone. Simple right?!

Anyway, onto flying things. I'm still bleurgh about the house. So, my decision is to say sod it for today and the weekend other than maintenance of washing and the usual tidy after yourself stuff.

DS is at nursery on Monday, all being well, and I have a small bit of work (maybe an hour or so) to do, and then I'm going to start at the top of the house and work my way down.

I will be RUTHLESS I tell ya! The forecast is dull, but dry so washing will be done and put out, and everything will be wiped.

Then it'll hopefully be just a case of keeping on top of it for a week until we go on holiday.

Trazzletoes · 14/06/2013 08:59

Yay Doris !!!!!

CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 09:21

I have seriously considered having the norks forcible shrunk. I reckon that would lose me half a stone at least right away HmmGrin

DorisShutt · 14/06/2013 10:06

I weighed mine once and they were about 3/4 of a stone.

I reckon mine are about a stone between them as they've grown since then due to pregnancy.

Incidentally, it's bloody tricky to weigh your boobs

GoingGoingGoth · 14/06/2013 10:20

Morning all, god my norks are depressingly huge, 34GG,I'm amazed I don't topple over. Had them reduced in my 20s but they regret Sad

Did really well on MPF yesterday, THEN DH brought a lemon drizzle pudding home (like a trifle), am having a fast day today. May not make it today as I stupidly stayed up to 2am, to watch the Tudors (and I've already seen it once)

Anyway less whining,

Done
Beds
Dd to school
Repotted tomato & butternut squash seedlings
Ironed yesterday's laundry
Laundry on

To do
Accompany DD's class to the library, must leave in 5 mins. Shock

GoingGoingGoth · 14/06/2013 10:21

Regrew not regret, although I regret that they regrew.
I hate autocorrect

DorisShutt · 14/06/2013 10:28

Sad for Going

Well, given I'm a 32G or GG depending on the bra, yours are probably about the same weight as mine.

See, I knew my drunken exploits would come in useful! Wink

superfluouscurves · 14/06/2013 10:44

Mine are so huge, I once ironed them by mistake.

[Ponders relation between cluttered houses and ample norkage]

[Gives up. Goes back to bed.]

Waves feebly!

Smile
Trazzletoes · 14/06/2013 11:08

sc I suspect I'm the exception that proves the rule Grin though I did get a huge ego boost from the bra size threads and went up 3 cup sizes!

superfluouscurves · 14/06/2013 11:18
Grin
CHBitchy · 14/06/2013 11:29

ToffeeWhirl · 14/06/2013 12:33

Since we are discussing norks, may I point out that I have been everything from a 34A to a 36DD. Weight gain, pregnancy, breastfeeding, stopping breastfeeding, etc. have all had an impact. Am quite ample at the moment as I have put on weight. I would trade smaller boobs for a smaller waist.

SC - am weeping at the picture of you ironing your norks Grin.

Am having a weird and busy day. Took cat to the vet and we decided to wait and see how he was getting on before doing any blood tests, as he is eating again. Arrived home and dashed around getting DS1's clothes ready for his first visit to the new school, then DS1 shouted at me about the cat and I discovered kitty sitting there, looking for all the world like a plucked chicken. He has pulled all the hair out of his chest. Whaaaa?

Have booked him back in with the vet again after we have visited the school and gone into work for a bit.

There will definitely be no Flying today.

GoingGoingGoth · 14/06/2013 13:21

Back from the library visit, I am amazed that all teachers aren't alcoholics. I could do with a very large Wine right now.

Doris Grin at helpful drunken exploits, I have considered it, butte have old fashioned scales and I think the brass would be cold. And. ""Yay" to the new blog post.

SC owwwwww! saying that I have caught my muffin top when ironing in hot weather. Curves in all the wrong places.

Toffee hope kitten perks up soon.

Can't see me doing much this afternoon, as due back at school at 3 to pick DD up. May chill out with my book.
