Welcome one and all, especially if you love writing a great list, then sitting back and MNing crossing everything off.

And extra welcomes to those of us who write something we've already done on the list just for the satisfaction of getting to cross it off Grin

Well have partly given up with DD and she is back in pullups - will still pop her on the loo now and then and on warm days keep her naked in the garden.
DS2 sort of gets the idea I think which is more than I thought he would tbh. But...he isn't getting the practicality of actually going to the toilet. So a few accidents - but not many, he managed tutor & soft play today with no accidents but I knew he was desperate by the time we got home, sat him on the loo several times but no luck, then he wet himself (& the sofa), sigh.

DONE:
DS1 to swimming crash course
DS2 to tutor
some ironing & putting away
strip beds & bathmats
DC to soft play for a bit
lunch & DD's nap
boys to library
gate on DD's room (not ideal but will do for tonight I hope)
bedguards given away
gone through lots of DC books and pile to give away
give away more baby bits to friend who's DD is pg
DC painting session (why oh why?!)

TO DO:
DC tea & tidy kitchen
kill time...
DC bath & bed
our dinner & bed

  • laundry...

Ongoing:

  • family tree (scanning in old certs & photos & email contacts)
  • need to gather photos from family to print out & decide where to hang it
  • sort wills; just try and get something written down as a minimum
  • sort out my desk
  • kids photos albums: upload onto SnapfishDONE; order printouts; DD 0-1 DONE; put in albums: Next to order: DD 1-2 & DS2 3-4 & 4-5 & DS1 2011 & 2012
  • cash in Tesco vouchers (what for - towards a day out, just which one?)
  • Apple shop trip for poorly laptop; must do soon it's getting worse
  • dentist appt(s)
  • check birthdays coming up/make cards
  • nurse appt for my ears & new pill pill DONE & boys ears x 2
  • Halfords/ebay for bike rack? bike rack bought online (not used it yet though)

Ah well. Was worth trying! Great that ds2 has got the idea. Dd still leaves it too late sometimes (have actually just made doc appt for their ongoing wee issues)

Todays main jobs were to phone the docs, arrange play dates for dcs and to do sone coursework. Have done it but not as much coursework as I would have liked. I am finding these units really hard.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 30/07/2013 22:01

Wow Freakoid, you were on a roll yesterday.

JKS, if at first you don't succeed...leave it for a bit, then try again.

I'm off work tomorrow so,

Do some colouring with DCs
Shred the pile of paperwork that sorted through tonight
Online grocery shop
Washing machine on
Kitchen counters
Do something, anything in DS's room
My dressing table

FreakoidOrganisoid · 31/07/2013 11:39

Not dobe much so far today, just some pottering and cookie baking. Dc have friends over now. I should be doing more coursework...

SlatternismyMiddlename · 31/07/2013 16:23

I also decided to make some soup and start on tonights dinner so the kitchen needs done again. On a more positive note I got the calendar for the next 2 months (return to school) sorted - and note made out for child care arrangements.

JKSLtd · 31/07/2013 18:36

Hey. Hot here today, was actually quite nice walking around Asda in the air conditioning!

Madly busy, trying to get stuff organised for camping on Saturday. Not helped by the washing machine having a strop last night. 12.15am we finally got it sorted and it has been on the go ever since. It may be the first time I have ever got on top of the washing Shock You find out who your real friends are when the WM breaks, I have had 4 or 5 offers of help today :o

Bloody knackered now. Hoping for an early night!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 04/08/2013 13:33

This morning DD is moving from her cot bed to a normal size bed. I am finding this strangely emotional - she's my baby (I find myself wailing). Anyway, between the weeping and wailing, we have emptied her entire room and moved the furniture around. DS wants his room moved around too. The mess is unbelievable.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 04/08/2013 22:52

Both kids' rooms done. Their rooms are in great shape but that's because all the random stuff is out in the hall or in my room. It will take a few more hours to get all the stuff sorted.

This week

Ironing
Sort stuff in hall
Sort stuff in my bedroom
Wash all school uniform stuff that has been in attic
Put all school stuff in a pile to give to my mum to label
Day trip with kids
Old shoes to charity shop
Sort out bottom of DD's wardrobe
PTA stuff
Start on the study

FreakoidOrganisoid · 05/08/2013 19:29

How are the dc's rooms now slattern. I sorted mine out one dsy last week. It lasted all of a day before they'd messed it up again!

Got quite a bit to do this week, general tidying and sorting really.

JKSLtd · 05/08/2013 21:57

Hello :)

Have been working hard on the Decluttering plan & it's going well & turning into a general house clearance/tidy/sort which is great :)
And DS1 is really into it and keeps asking what's next!

Ongoing:

  • family tree (scanning in old certs & photos & email contacts)
  • need to gather photos from family to print out & decide where to hang it
  • sort wills; just try and get something written down as a minimum
  • sort out my desk
  • kids photos albums: Done Done Done!! Grin
  • cash in Tesco vouchers (what for - towards a day out, just which one?)
  • Apple shop trip for poorly laptop; must do soon it's getting worse
  • dentist appt(s)
  • check birthdays coming up/make cards
  • nurse appt for my ears & boys ears x 2

Well done jks Smile

I am finally going to sort my wardrobe today.
Just dyeing hair(another long overdue job)
Might get dc to go through the dvds as well
Then see friend this afternoon

Not seeming toget as much done as thought over the holiday. Also astounded at how much loo roll and milk we are getting through!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 11/08/2013 14:06

Hello.

DC's rooms have been tidy for a whole week. This is nothing short of a miracle. DH tackled the kitchen table of doom and for 24 whole hours it has remained mess free.

There is still alot of stuff sitting about and I keep walking past it hoping the fairies will make it disappear.

This afternoon I am trying to do some cooking prep for the week. The ironing has to be tackled this evening.

Hope everyone is well.

MrsNouveauRichards · 11/08/2013 14:47

Hello all.

I have also just tackled the kids room. We had an old shelving unit sat waiting to go in the shed, and I thought of perhaps putting it in the kids room, which has given more stuff a home. Just the rest of the house to follow.... :o

We were camping last week and now struggling to get out of holiday mode. DS's 3rd birthday coming up and his party is next weekend (at home) so going to be busy this week!

Will be back with a list tomorrow :)

MrsNouveauRichards · 12/08/2013 08:14

That will do for now. I am going to try to get rid of one bag of stuff per day this week. A minor goal, but one that should make a difference.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 12/08/2013 22:00

How did you get on Mrs NR?

I made a small dent into the ironing pile this evening. Still a long way to go.

MrsNouveauRichards · 13/08/2013 07:26

I'd say I got about a 'C' for effort and 'D' for actual achievement :o Must do better!

The big problem with housework when you have kids, is that it is a bit like brushing your teeth while eating chocolate - a complete waste of time!

I am impressed with your ironing, it is something I never get round to.

TO DO
Get up and dressed
Make beds
Kids fed and dressed
Make some cookies
Clear out last holiday stuff from car
Horses
Shower and changed
Make packed lunch
Out for afternoon - steam train and fairy walk
Dinner - burgers maybe? Get bread rolls
Kids bath and bed

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK
Tidy every room - hall, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, conservatory, bedrooms and bathroom
Hoover whole house
Clean kitchen and bathroom
Mop hard floors
Order party bags - TONIGHT -
Make cake
Wrap pass the parcel/sort party games
Get food for BBQ

That will do for now!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 13/08/2013 18:14

Just in case you have forgotten Mrs NR - order those party bags!!

MrsNouveauRichards · 14/08/2013 07:09

I didn't. To be fair I was moving a friends sofas around, picking up new one in my trailer, getting old ones out and putting the new one in etc. Got home at 10pm knackered!

Going to swing by hobbycraft tomorrow as they stock what I'm after.

Need a list today, but first I need rather a lot of caffeine......

MrsNouveauRichards · 14/08/2013 08:24

Ok, I have had cereal, toast and drinking coffee. I feel vaguely awake and ready to at least plan what I'm supposed to be doing today!

THIS MORNING
Get up and dressed
Make beds
Get kids dressed
Laundry
Dishy on
Library
Horses
Go to leisure centre as cannot get hold of them on phone wrt swimming lessons

THIS AFTERNOON
Stay in for new phone delivery (yay!)
Laundry
Look up the tip opening times
Put away all the holiday stuff - it is stressing me out!
Do some maths workbook with DD
Continue in vague way with potty training.....

WillYouDoTheFandango · 14/08/2013 09:50

Hello all, I'm new to this board but DS (7m) has barely napped for about 3 weeks and my house is an absolute tip! I have a job list as long as my arm and need to get it done during his 2 30 minute naps.

Nap1
Wash up
Sterilise and make bottles
Hoover downstairs
Mop kitchen floor
Clean bathroom
Shift massive pile of stuff off dining table

Nap 2
Dust whole house
Put away washing
Iron and put away

Then when he wakes up I need to stick him in his cot and Hoover upstairs while he screams as he hates the Hoover Hmm Meh!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/08/2013 13:14

Tried to post earlier but lost it

Mrsnr I need to follow in your footsteps and get up and organised in tge mornings. Going back to bed with tea as I have been over the holidays is lovely but does mean I'm quite disorganised and I havent done many of the jobs that were on my 'I'll do that over the summer' list.

Got all the uniform on mon AND got it labelled and put away. Friend visited yesterday. This morning I have been to dr and got dc referred to wee doctors snd physios. And bought stuff fo dinner.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 14/08/2013 14:18

Welcome Fandango.

By the sounds of it the summer end being in sight, as our 'summer to do lists' lie unfinished under a layer of dust , is starting to have a negative effect on all of us. Personally, at the start of the summer I had hoped I would be organised by September - guess what, September is round the corner and I am no closer.

Will list later.
