There's so many gadgets to choose from - everything from steam cleaners to slow cookers.

What have you found that has really been worth the money - that saves you time in the daily grind, and gets regular use?

rice cooker
onion chopper

BrianButterfield · 12/10/2012 20:43

G-tech rechargable floor sweeper. An absolute godsend with a food-flinging toddler. Easier to get out than a hoover, light and really effective.

OliviaLMumsnet · 12/10/2012 20:45

Coffee machine which has a timer so you can come down to freshly ground coffee
(basically a teas made but not in the bedroom and for coffee Grin)

joanofarchitrave · 12/10/2012 20:46

E-mop. With 1 x duster cloth and 2 x wet cloth.

MisForMumNotMaid · 12/10/2012 20:47

Actifry for easy low fat chips, very easy risotto and lovely fajita mix.

MisForMumNotMaid · 12/10/2012 20:48

Oh and my dyson cordless. Long thin house with different levels forever rep lugging the vacuum. Now I just whiz through the house.

AlmostAHipster · 12/10/2012 20:49

A second vote for the Actifry here! Bloody marvellous thing, it is!

FiveFlowers · 12/10/2012 20:54

1-2-spray mop.
Wakecup machine.
Upstairs hoover.
E cloths (not a gadget but have definitely made cleaning much easier).

mirry2 · 12/10/2012 20:57

an i-phone so that I can send/receive emails on the go.

BertieBotts · 12/10/2012 20:58

Dishwasher (Not sure if it counts as a gadget!)

susiedaisy · 12/10/2012 20:59

Teasmaid, Magimix

Tigerbomb · 12/10/2012 21:30

Meat slicer - saves me money too as I buy smaller joints now and can carve slices instead of big chunks and it looks like theres loads more on the plate
TIVO on virgin - not really a gadget but means I can always find (and record) what I like to watch

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 12/10/2012 21:39

Salad spinner

A thing that stamps gobbledegook over your address and personal details so you don't have to shred papers anymore.

mirry2 · 13/10/2012 09:28

Dreamy - where can I get one of those stamps?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/10/2012 09:33

Lightweight cordless vac
Spray mop
Pledge duster on a stick things, disposable fluffy head on a plastic handle, can dust in anout 1/4 the time it takes with a cloth

Sneets · 13/10/2012 09:38

My husband Grin

Tiny, cutsie gift of iPod ( from DH! )

GwendolineScaryLacey · 13/10/2012 09:53

iPhone.

Use it for banking on the hoof when I get the 'pay money in before 3.30' message. Use it as Sat nav, entertainment for dd1, tracking DH coming home as he never bloody rings and then comes home starving! Use the camera as usual but also to take photos of things in shops (for price matching or even deciding if I want them). That's without phoning, texting and net.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/10/2012 10:03

Iphone, I also do the taking photos in shops thing and online supermarket shopping, walk round the kitchen checking and adding things. I don't do much else that could really be termed as useful though and it makes it all too easy to get distracted by MN / FB / Kindle app which is a definite loss on the productivity front. So although I love it to bits it's probably neutral in efficiency terms.

CiderwithBuda · 13/10/2012 10:08

Roomba. Two hairy labradors means it gets well used.

Steam generator iron.

Have an Actifry but have only used it once. Must dig it out again.

Toomanyworriedsonhere · 13/10/2012 10:11

ricecooker

Arisbottle · 13/10/2012 10:12

Ken wood mixer

I am going to hunt for that coffee machine

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 13/10/2012 10:14

Microwave steriliser - my DM was trying to sell to me 'stabding boiling bottles in a pan with sterlising solution' Hmm

An external harddrive - all photos backed up and we can store tons and tons of movies and music on it and take it with us instead of 'stuff'
