There's so many gadgets to choose from - everything from steam cleaners to slow cookers.

What have you found that has really been worth the money - that saves you time in the daily grind, and gets regular use?

Those rolls of sticky paper that get fluff off things. Brilliant invention for pet owners.

Have just ordered the Electrolux rechargeable vac. Hope the DC and DH appreciate it! Grin

Very maybe you could put it on your Christmas Wish List and talk to DH about the merits. I imagine men would love the idea of a little robot they could have roaming about! I wish I could afford one for my dad; exactly what he needs as a bachelor and he would love it!

VerySmallSqueak · 16/10/2012 16:16

ATourch there's a glimmer of possibility there - trouble is that DH seems to think there already is a robot roaming about doing all the chores...Grin

Hmmm.Perhaps it's a cattle prod that I need.

Dishwasher, Dolce Gusto machine, Galaxy Note (perfect compromise between a tablet and my old iphone!) and the steam cleaner.

Don't know if it counts as a gadget but my laundry maid (pulley airer). I used to spend all those wet spring/summer/autumn days when it was too wet to put washing out but the heating wasn't on inside with washing draped everywhere, it would take days to dry on teh clothes horse, shirts would be hung fromall the curtain rails. It was horrible. On the laundry maid stuff dries. Even with no heating it still dries in half the time it would on a clothes horse. I hardly ever have washaing hanging around these day unless a child wets the bed or something when I've just changed the sheets.

VerySmallSqueak · 16/10/2012 17:11

Indith I'm supposing that's because heat rises.

If it does a good job,I reckon it counts as a gadget, and a eco friendly one at that!

I love my stick blender. I now have one of these as I'm a convert to Cuisinart, their long guarantees and fab customer service (and no, I don't work for them!)

You guys got me thinking about the Roomba again and I found this cheaper version...v. tempted! Love the comments section where it apparently tries to "mount" a drum kit pedal repeatedly Grin

stick blenders are great. I jsut got a mixer from Lidl which looks like a mini kenwood type mixer with a bowl but the top lifts off so you can use it like an electric hand whisk in other bowls and then if you tip that bit over you can pop a stick blender attachment on it. Fab and only £20!

Chopstheduck · 17/10/2012 06:58

I have tons, and I use them all on a regular basis. I have a big steel shelf out in our utility room to store them all on. So I really, really want one a thermonix

It would replace nearly all of them! Only about £950 though! Shock
