HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 01/10/2012 09:38

I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Days go too fast at the mo.

Still to do
pick up ds
cook dinner
exercise
dust sitting room
hoover whole house
etc etc etc (house a shit tip)

JKSLtd · 14/01/2013 21:05

I agree, far too fast.

I am praying for heavy snow so I can cancel sch runs and any activities other than playing in the snow :)

So no list, in hope :)

Minimammoth · 14/01/2013 22:31

Only piddly snow here, now all gone. Will list tomorrow.

Minimammoth · 15/01/2013 08:24

Still no snow. Would like it to snow but DH would be grrrumpy re his work.
Office day. Loads to do in there. Need to break it down, but brain scrambled.
Email stuff
Kitchen
Summer flier/ newsletter
Schedule other work
I have a secret list of household jobs that shall remain locked away for now.
Have a good day everyone.

JKSLtd · 15/01/2013 09:19

Lol at secret list!

No snow of note left by this morning boo hiss.
But boys were up from 5.25 so I'm quite glad not to have them at home all day!

Lots to do but sitting with phone & tea for a minute.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 15/01/2013 10:48

Minimammoth - you tease! Tell us what is on that secret list.

Grin at Freakoid's 'shit tip' house.

I got all my list done last night (well DH did some ironing), and I did an online grocery shop so am feeling vaguely smug. However the house still looks terrible. I would also describe it as a shit tip.

No snow at all with us.

My list is for today and tomorrow as I am off work tomorrow

clean family bathroom
put DS's nerf guns in the garage for a break
locate all random nerf bullets lying around the house and put in garage
take baby jigsaws out of the mix and put in garage
make dinner
washing
counter tops
clear kitchen table
DS's homework
maintenance wash on washing machine
make pasta sauce with whatever is left in fridge
bags for tomorrow

See you all later.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 15/01/2013 12:24

Hello
No list because at work my mumsnet has gone wierd. Something to do with a server somewhere. Anyway. Hope you are all OK. xxx

I think its because every room has something out of place so it looks messy even though it isn't that bad. And I have lots of ongoing stuff at the back of my mind (divorce, coursework, learning diaries for work) so my mind is also cluttered!

Im about to
Spray bathroom cleaner
Strip my bed
Tidy and dust my room
Bring recycling out of bathroom
Clean off bathroom cleaner
Hoover upstairs and mop bathroom floor.

Its sunny too so I am going to open the windows and give the house a good airing.

JKSLtd · 15/01/2013 13:27

I know that feeling of stuff being in the wrong rooms!

Am trying to clear the boys room as much as possible as the bunkbeds are due tomorrow, yey :)
Does mean the spare room is now a total bombsite but I can't wait.

Yet at the same time I feel sort of nostalgic/sad about them moving into bunkbeds. What's that about? Confused

FreakoidOrganisoid · 15/01/2013 14:59

Well i have done my room. It was really dusty so I pulled out the bed and hoovered behind and under it. Also sorted books as had a tower of them next to bed. One bag for friends one bag for charity shop. I have achieved nothing else though as that has taken all the time. I guess at least one room is clean now.

JKSLtd · 15/01/2013 17:55

Well done Freak :)

I did more in the playroom but really have achieved very little.

Make lunch for tomorrow
Tidy kitchen
Remake my bed
Exercise
Shower
Collapse

Minimammoth · 15/01/2013 21:44

HMHB I bet work have discovered your guilty mumsnet secret and are blocking on purpose.
Freaki I have a similar book tower, glad you caught it before it fell on youGrin
My secret list is hidden in a small cupboard in my head, it is too scary to open at the moment.
Bunkbeds is a step to growing up JKS. Aw .

Minimammoth · 16/01/2013 13:01

Where is everyone?
Are you all de icing the children?
A revolution has happened in the Mammoth office. Paper has been put into files.Shock

JKSLtd · 16/01/2013 13:19

Shock Mini!! Grin

RL just being busy, first Tumble Tots for DD this morning, v cute :)

Annoyed with myself x 2 today though:

  • thought it was Bunkbed Delivery Day, but it's next Wednesday, grr.
&
  • managed to properly scrape the car on the wall outside as thought I could fit between it and the window cleaners car. (He always parks over the driveway and it pisses me off no end, so annoyed with him too)
am going to have to tell DH that i've 'crashed' for the second time in a few weeks. Have to pay the neighbour £275 for repairs to his car after I reversed into him before Christmas. Totally my fault but grr that he still parks opposite the house, feel like it's tempting fate & it's inevitable that I'll do it again.

sorry!

Today:

  • afternoon orch
  • DS1 swimming & McDs (also annoyed they're changing to free books instead of plastic-tat-toys that DS loves, grrrrrr - may switch to KFC)
  • DC bath & bed
  • DH home, tv & bed early for me (5.20 start, thanks DS2)

cikecaka · 16/01/2013 15:50

Hi all, mu Uncle died on Sunday and was buried today, so have been busy with the wake and the funeral etc! Have left the afters to sort out DCs and do some washing or there may be no clean underwear tomorrow Blush

SlatternismyMiddlename · 16/01/2013 16:38

Cikecaka - sorry about your uncle passing.

JKS - there is alot of 'grrrr ing' going on there Smile, hope your day gets better.

Mini - feel free to come to mine and file my never ending piles of paper. I keep creating them, with the intention of filing them but never quite get round to it.

My list from Tuesday

clean family bathroom -done
put DS's nerf guns in the garage for a break
locate all random nerf bullets lying around the house and put in garage
take baby jigsaws out of the mix and put in garage
make dinner - difficult bit done
washing - done
counter tops -done
clear kitchen table
DS's homework
maintenance wash on washing machine
make pasta sauce with whatever is left in fridge
bags for tomorrow

Mmmmmmm, I worked all morning and thought I got loads done, but the list says otherwise. Who am I to argue with the list?

Minimammoth · 16/01/2013 16:52

The list is THE LAW. Slattern. Alas the 'paper put into files' statement does not apply to all the paper in Mammoth office. Tis only a minor accomplishment, but to be acknowledged nevertheless.
Do people still say nevertheless these days.
Old gimmer emoticon.
JKS perhaps you should invest in a carefully placed cone.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 16/01/2013 17:22

Personally I say 'nevertheless' however I would have a reputation in my office for using rather alot of old fashioned words - hey, if it was good enough for our grandparents......... I hope I'm not in old gimmer category, yet Smile.

Minimammoth · 16/01/2013 17:37

I do hope you are not referring to expletive terms Slattern.

JKSLtd · 16/01/2013 19:33

CC - sympathies.

Essentially 2 things are going on, I have PMT & the car is too big for me.

DH of course is not stressed about it, I think it looks terrible but he hasn't seen it yet...

Hey ho, I'm on the Wine with junk tv and a cat next to me :)

Today:

  • afternoon orch DONE
  • DS1 swimming & KFC DONE
  • DC bath & bed DONE
  • DH home, tv & bed early for me (5.20 start, thanks DS2)

cikecaka · 16/01/2013 22:23

Thanks for all the sympathy! He was a lovely man. Am home and in bed, slightly tipsy and watching channel 5+1 even though I know who went out, thanks to Facebook

SlatternismyMiddlename · 17/01/2013 10:10

Minimammouth - when I posted of my tendancy to use old fashioned language I meant that I also used 'nevertheless' and 'notwithstanding' type words, however there is also quite a liberal sprinkling of expletives too! You should have heard me at about 9.30 this morning, it was not pretty and certainly was an abuse of the english language Smile. I'm having a horrible day so far and need to relax before I explode in a horror film stylee. Anyone got a cat handy for stroking? My 2 are at home.

Cikecaka - hope you are okay this morning.

I'm not going to list until later as currently can't see the wood for the trees.

Moan over, back to work.

Minimammoth · 17/01/2013 16:19

Slattern, breathe girl breathe. Is that how you spell breathe? An e too many. Hmmm. Never was good at spelling. Also please call me mini. It will save the tapping.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 17/01/2013 18:02

Thank you Mini! The glass of wine I have just poured is helping with the breathing Smile.

I'm home now so the world can bring it on!

I will list later.
